StratusIQ, Colorado Springs Reviews (17)
Does anyone know what happened to Stratique...I had a scheduled appointment on Tuesday, Feb 26th and I recently received an email stating that they are no longer in business...WHAT THE HELL!!!
WOOHOO!!!!!
That is the best news ever! This place needed to be shut down. Terrible customer service and clients being burned by laser hair removal. It's about time!!
Looks good on you Anthony!!!!

I recently came here to get laser hair removal. Let me start by saying that the space is very uniquely made and i love the yellow color. The workers were very friendly and the receptionist is so cute and helpful. (I called weeks before to get some advice seeing as i have not done laser before, and she was very helpful explaining what exactly will take place and how to prep.) The lady that took care of me was very patient when working on me as well. I seen the gentleman working on a woman haircut and it look beautiful. I think i might make an appointment soon to get a haircut as well. Overall i had an amazing experience compared to reviews i have read below. I would definitely refer someone to go and check them out.
I have been going to Stratique Hair Salon & Spa for over ten years to get my hair cut. My Dad, Mother, Brother, my Girlfriend, and some friends also go to Stratique Hair Salon & Spa due to my recommendation from a long time ago.
They go because the experience is always an enjoyable one for them. Much to the chagrin that many of the reviews below suggest regarding customer service and friendliness, it is the complete opposite that keeps us returning to see Anthony. It makes me very angry and sad for Anthony that so many people have lamented him as basically a crook and a shiesty business operator.
This man is not just my barber to me, but someone I call a friend. When my Mother unexpectedly passed away five years ago, he and a co-worker actually attended her funeral and was there to support my family. How many people could say that the person who cuts their hair would do the same?
Anthony is actually such a friendly individual that on the rare occasion we get to having such a conversation that I feel a bit worried about the quality of the hair cut I am going to end up with, because I've been distracting him with chatter the whole time. Fortunately though I am pretty much never disappointed (I say pretty because there isn't a person out there who has ever been 100% satisfied with a haircut/styling over the course of 10+ years with the same person. People make mistakes, people have bad days, we're human).
I feel sorry for the individuals on here who have had a bad experience. Some of the stories on here sound pretty awful but you do not speak for the thousands of customers on file that have left Stratique Hair Salon & Spa with a positive experience only to return again and again when the time comes. I know a couple women who have had the Laser Treatment and were very happy with the service they received. Much like the comment below, they appreciated the advice they were given on how to take care of the treated areas. Something they unanimously agreed was different from other locations that perform Laser Treatment.
Regarding the review that felt the need to give one star due to the decor of the salon, I feel kind of sad for you that you felt the need to come online and tarnish a company because you can. If you are looking for decor, you should have gone to a Yorkville salon to begin with, where there you can pay obscene amounts of money that will pay for those fancy lights you require to consider a salon satisfactory. However, be prepared to possibly receive attitude as ultra upscale salons are notorious for judgment and a sense of "cliqueness" new customers often receive. Personally, everybody I know enjoys the environment. Comfortable "chic" chairs to wait in, the peaceful sound of water from the fish tank, a water-cooler with spring water, and the walls painted with a warm calming colour. The shampooing/wash station is modern and better than most places, and where you get your hair cut is a bit more private than the majority of salons, which allows for a nice honest conversation about literally anything.
My Dad actually recently switched from his barber he had been seeing for 15-20 years because of the cut he gets from Anthony, and the conversation he has with Anthony. He admires Anthony's positivity and outlook on life even when faced with adversity regardless of how virtuous you try to live your life, which is something they both have in common.
**** These online review sites are extremely powerful in today's age and I wish that people would overlook these negative reviews and just try Stratique Hair Salon & Spa out on their own. I also ask for others to be careful when writing these reviews as you are dealing with someone's career, liveliness, and ultimately what takes care of a family much of the time. It's unfortunate that quite often people come to these sites only to write a bad review, and the people with positive experiences don't usually write a good review. Anthony is a good person with a big heart and I am positive he did not mean for any of the situations below to happen. I hate to say it but he's not the most computer savvy (as many business owners are), and I believe this to be part of the aspect that lead to the confusion many of you had regarding the online coupons. Words must have been lost in translation when he dealt with the online coupon company leading to these problems.

I went to this salon for laser hair removal, eyebrow threading and VellaShape treatments.
The customer service is outstanding. The receptionist is always friendly and professional.
My esthetician (Alpa) was attentive, did her job well, and gave me helpful tips on post-care after laser hair removal treatments (I can compare this to other salons where they didn't tell me anything).
I've done SIX laser treatments on variety of areas, and did not have any problems with burns or sensitivity.
The prices are reasonable, and they offer variety of specials on their website.
When you book the appointment, they email you a confirmation and a reminder for your appointment two days before the date. This makes it very easy to remember the appointment.
I will definitely come back again.
Everyone makes their own choices, but I'd definitely give this place a try. I've read many bad reviews about them, but it looks like they've made an effort to re-train their staff and it worked!

i purchased a laser hair removal package a few months ago and am now finally using it. i must say it was hard to find the location at first, but once i got through the traffic i was relieved. This has been my 4th treatment and the hair on my legs are practically gone. the ladies that have done the service so far have been so patient(i was quite nervous seeing as it was my first time.
I would recommend anyone to try out the laser treatment its worth it.

This salon moved from Yonge & Sheppard, changed the decor but the service and prices is still not worth it. Rude staff, nothing has changed. Save your money and avoid the frustration.
a friend of mine alway told me to come by and get my hair cut here, but i never had the time. eventually i gave them a call and booked an appointment. usally when i go to get my hair TRIMED they end up cutting way more then enough. however the gentalman that cut my hair did an amazing job. he did just as i asked and the way he blow dried my hair was just lovly... on the other hand i was very set to see all the poor review, and think you should give them a try before yu knock them.
Just beware if you purchase a deal from this salon from WagJag (or other "deal" location, I assume). I purchased a deal which, after my purchase, changed, and though WagJag said that the salon assured them that they would honour the deal as purchased, they would not. Very unimpressed. Incompetent advertising at best, business fraud at worst.
I experienced some of the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. The owner was rude and unreasonable, not to mention very unprofessional.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Hey guys, thanks for donating money to Charity!!
I bought a voucher for hair removal too from DealTicker. I was kinda upset that the 10-minute thing wasn't mentioned, and just as I was about to go web-complaining, I got an email from them. All I have to say is WOW - I never got such clear, nice and apologetic communication from any company!
They said they made a mistake (who admits that anyway these days?), and that they would either give me a refund or if I want to keep the voucher, I get $5 to spend! That's awesome, considering they have a really good mobile dry cleaning deal $15 for $40 worth of mobile dry cleaning (63% discount).
Anywa, I've been to Stratique before, and although the interior hasn't changed for a while, the staff are really friendly. Including the receptionist. I guess the previous reviewer was a pain in the a** to deal with, and they didn't want her as a customer.
I left more beautiful than when I walked in, and can definitely say that Stratique gained me as a long-term customer. And so did DealTicker.

I purchased two vouchers from DealTicker for ELOS Laser Hair removal from Stratique. Details and fine print of the deal are below. Notice the ad mentions any area including "Full Arm, Full Legs, Full Back,..." etc.
When I called to book an appointment I found out that there is a time limit on this deal of only 10 minutes. How much area do you think this time could actually cover? By the time they put the gel on, I'm sure they would not have even made it up to my shin. When I pointed out that no time limit was mentioned in the deal, they said I should take it up with DealTicker. Which is fine, I will be asking for a refund. However, I don't think this is DealTicker's fauly as I'm sure any business would verify the details in their ad prior to placing that ad/promotion.
The money isn't an issue, it's the fact that they misled buyers to greatly. I do not want to deal with or be the consumer of a business that is so shady. I've bought other deals from sites such as DealTicker and I've always been satisfied with the service and received the same service that I would have expected if I had paid full price.
I guess this is a lesson that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.

I booked an appointment for two at Stratique Salon today and never have I encountered such a rude receptionist who is supposed to be "friendly".
My name is Sue and I purchased two vouchers at DealTicker for my mother and I. Anthony was very nice and accommodating the night before to squeeze me in the morning of Tuesday, December 8, 2010 for 11pm. I picked up my mother at her house and drove down to look for Stratique spa and salon. I saw a sign that said "Stratique" and proceed to park in the back of the building. I walked through a door assuming it was the salon and two ladies greeted me. I said we had an appointment for two and they said yes yes pedicure and manicure and I was okay I got the right place. So they usher us inside and started to work on our feet, I started asking whether Anthony was the boss because I have spoken to him the night before and they said yes yes. 25 mins later I realize that this place was "Hollywood Nails" and not part of Stratique. The only way I found out their store name was because I heard them answer a phone call.
I proceed to call Anthony to explain my dilemma. I told him I knew we were half an hour late and was willing to forfeit the manicure and pedicure portion of our vouchers. He agreed and said that we can still do the facial and massage. I felt so bad for the ladies who started to work on our feet so I gave them twenty dollars for 25 min of their time. All they got done in that 25 min was cut our toenails and cuticles, but it was money I felt like I had to spend because of the mistake I made. It was all miscommunication.
I proceed to go upstairs because Anthony said it was okay to still get the facial and massage and then the receptionist was telling me that I could only do the manicure and pedicure. I talked to Anthony five minutes beforehand and he agreed we can do the facial and massage. I apologized profusely to her and told her that I understand we are half an hour late but we don't need to the manicure and pedicure, and that my mom would like a facial and I, a massage. She kept telling me that she could not accommodate us, that it would be an inconvenience to the other customers who are after us...and Im wondering...the voucher I paid for is a two hour service. We were HALF an hour late, we were willing to forfeit the other 30 mins just to receive the one hour massage or facial - why was she arguing with me? I go to spas often, and never before have I met such a rude, argumentative, and frustrating receptionist.
My voucher entitled me to 30 mins manicure, 30 mins pedicure and our choice of an hour massage or facial.
I was 30 mins late...you do the math, I was supposed to still get an hour and half left. I only wanted one hour of their time. Yet she said I was an "inconvenience".
The receptionist gave me rude and exasperating looks as if I'm wasting her time. She was not friendly, she was rude. I became very upset because I wanted to surprise my mom for a day of relaxation and if she liked it - continue taking her when she felt tired and yet all I got was attitude from the receptionist.
Anthony saw that i was upset, I did not want the manicure or pedicure. That was not what I bought the vouchers for. He then said that he will give us the facial and massage we wanted - but it was too late. I was too upset and I knew it showed and I apologize ONLY to Anthony that I was rude. I guess the receptionists attitude rubbed off on me. I did not yell, I did not swear, but I was highly irritated.
I thank Anthony for his consideration, but he intervene too late and the receptionist was too rude and she just ruined my day and my desire to get a relaxing massage.
I am surprised that a place like Stratique, allow their workers talk to their clients so rudely.
They said if I dont get their service today, that I will forfeit the vouchers, so be it. I won't use the vouchers. It was only 80 dollars for two vouchers - that is nothing to me. The money is not what mattered, I wouldve tipped graciously if the services had been good. I have money, what I dont have time for is snobby, offensive receptionists giving me attitude when I apologize for being late and trying to explain my situation. I was not late going into Stratique, I was at the bottom level, at the wrong place. People make mistakes and I thought stratique value their customer services and I did not get that from the receptionist.
Anthony, if you are reading this - please try to put yourself in my shoes. I was apologetic at first, trying to explain my situation. A receptionist was rude telling me she cant inconvenient the customers behind me so Im stuck with only a manicure and pedicure. My aunt owns a nail salon, why would I pay just to do my nails when I could have done it for free? I came for the facial for my mother and yet couldnt get it. That really frustrates me. I know you tried to accomodate me in the end but it was too late. That receptionist already tensed me up, and I was not in a calming mindset to have any services done. You were very nice Anthony, I can see why people would come back for YOUR services. However, your receptionist, you should train her to be friendlier and not so rude to customers who already know they made a mistake. She made me feel insignificant and I will not recommend any of my friends to go there. I am a lawyer you see, and me and my friends ALWAYS go for massages and facials. Never in all of my 31 years of life, have I encounter such a rude worker.
I am disappointed.
I just thought the management would like to know how their customers are treated.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Sue.

I am going to this place for more than 2 years now. They did fantastic job on my eyebrows and hair style. Over the 2 years I got lot of compliment for my eyebrows. Product they use for hair is superb. Friendly staff. It is little expensive but result I get is excellent. I am soon moving to California and I know I am going to miss this salon very much :(
Located in a strip mall plaza at Yonge and Sheppard, Stratique certainly isn't much to look at. In fact, it appears like the decor has not been updated in about 15 years. I didn't make much of this fact, nor of the somewhat untidy look of the place. I should have wondered why there was no receptionist/cashier at the front desk... only a lone stylist sweeping a deserted salon. I took all these facts to mean this was a lower-end joint with affordable prices. Boy, was I wrong!
At over $70 for a ladies' cut/wash/style, I expect more than what Stratique has to offer: an adequate (but certainly not above average) haircut, acceptable (but neither engaged, memorable or exceptional) customer service, and definitely sub-par salon environment. While I am completely comfortable shelling out upwards of $100 on a great haircut, Stratique is way overpriced for the service they offer. I would advise you to spend your money elsewhere.

I recently visited Stratique and got the best precision cut EVER. The stylist suggested a colour that simply complimented the look. $$$ well spent. I will be back
I went to Stratique a few weeks ago to get my hair cut and styled. I paid almost $80 for a haircut I could have gotten for $12 at First Choice. It was the worst cut I've ever had and unfortunately everyone I know noticed. Bottom line: stay away from this salon!
nice friendly atmosphere
