Well, what can I say....nothing good that's for sure! we are suing the builder and the city! I find highly offensive that the builders representative told us ice, snow, and mould are normal cause it's winter time and it's cold out! I'm outraged that I begged the builder to come out and see for himself the home his company built that is contaminated and causing bodily harm!!!! Only to be told I put a humidifier in my furnace, because my family suffered extreme nose bleeds, and that's the reason my house is full of ice!!!! And to top it off to insist they build to quality and make it as though we did not know how to properly ventilate our home. If can justify it any way you want...but how do you sleep at night

You'll be hard pressed to find another builder in the Guelph area who build homes like these.

5 years in I am still in love with my Builtmore home, great customer service, excellent finish and top quality work.

We have never had any issues with any of the work they have done for us or my neighbours.

Looking forward to my next builtmore/Granite or Ashton ridge home.

Will be a customer for life.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Christine B. and Sarah for their excellent customer service. All that said, since we moved into our home Nov.2013 we have had nothing but disappointments.
1. Two days in all the light bulbs had to be changed because they burnt out. Must have been from the used stock.
2. All the door handles shifted and my husband took them apart to tighten them.
3. 3 tiles in ensuite cracked after first shower. Ceramic Décor "fit us in" to an appt. 3 weeks later to replace them.
4.2 Electrical outlets are unuseable. I know they are TP but you should at least be able to use them.
5. Only 4 weeks in and stairs separating and caulking separating. I know houses settle but not that much in a month.

This is our 3 new home and I'm truly disappointed with the customer service. A builder is only as good as its trades people. Beautiful work in some areas but others areas could use more attention to detail. Customer service is where this company can improve. From Christine that did our walk through who made comments that we were "being to picky" about some imperfections to the construction supervisor who so quickly reminds us that "you live in a construction zone". Attitude and Customer Service will take you to a better level of Home Builders.

I was interested in buying a townhouse with Granite Homes, who have partnered with Biltmore Homes, and encountered problem after problem with them - and that was before I even purchased! The incompetence of the staff, from the sales rep to the operations manager and even accounting, was astounding. They couldn't give straight answers, provided misinformation, made countless mistakes, and just straight out lied in some cases. It's no wonder it's taken them ages just to sell the 7 homes in their latest phase. They still have one left and are about to launch their new phase. Good luck. All I can say is, buyers beware. If you want to be lied to, cheated, and treated poorly, then go with Granite Homes. I've since contacted Gemini Homes, who is building in the same neighbourhood, and they have been great so far. Courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodating. And if they can't answer your questions right away, they tell you they will get back to you later and reply with an honest answer, unlike Granite Homes who would sooner make a sale than give you the correct information.

I recently upgraded from a townhome to a single detached home built by Biltmore Home. I am very happy with the final product and found the whole experience to be easy. Bev and Sarah were a great help in selecting the proper plan, refining it and choosing materials and colours that look incredible! I would recommend Biltmore Homes to everyone.

We were very excited when buying our first home, and chose Granite Homes as a builder (a project in which Ashton Ridge and Biltmore homes had combined to complete). Through out the process, it seemed as if everything was going smoothly. However, shortly after putting our 5% down, there was delay after delay on the closing date. Finally we moved in and about 8% was still not completed. Siding/Brickwork, grading and some interior aesthetics such as paint were not done on prior to our closing day, which was only 3 weeks from christmas! We have lived at our place for almost 9 months and they refuse to fix several outstanding items. They told us the fireplace fan was an upgrade, though our neighbours have it included. The evestrough was not installed properly, grout was stained in areas such as the kitchen and hallway, and we are still missing a screen door on our basement window...amonng several other things. They are aware of all these problems, but flat out refuse to do anything about them. Neighbours we've talked to have similar problems. Seems to me as if Granite homes would much rather forget you after you've moved in and focus on selling more homes. Customer satisfaction is obviously not their priority as NOTHING is being done about maintaing a good seller-buyer relationship after the deal is done!

I just called Granite homes and left a message, of course I expected not to have someone answer as it's easier for them to ignore me. I'll continue calling and e-mailing them until everything is done- and I told them that! If they don't want to hear from me anymore then they'll just have to do the work. Thanks for the advice!

I don't think this is unique to Granite. We bought an HR home some years ago, and encountered the same problem. Once you move in, they ignore you or try to get out of fixing the problem. Our wood floor came apart in the first couple of months. It must have taken well over a year, with their inspectors saying it's not their problem, despite the warranty. Eventually, they owned up and fixed it.

Don't give up - keep on pestering them. Eventually they'll fix the problem, but not without a lot of stress for you!

I bought a Granite Homes townhome 2 years ago and it was a very pleasant experience. I'm was happy with my home and guests complimented me on the design and high level of finishes. It's the only townhome project in the area that actually uses hand cut natural stone. I sold it for a profit and upgraded to a larger home built by Biltmore Homes.

My neighbour complained about not getting response to service items but I have had great results with the after sales service team. I followed their procedure and sent all service items to the head office in writing. I also followed Tarion procedure and sent a copy to them as per my closing package. I know there were some staff issues for a while as one of the staff members got ill with cancer and another had a heart attack shortly after. It doesn't surprise me that this may throw a wrench in things temporarily.

My closing was also delayed but I was informed well in advance, and the builder offered a free garage door opener even though they were not obligated to give me anything. When I asked why it was delayed they told me the city delayed the developer (not the builder)over a technical issue for over 6 months. I called the city to confirm and it was true. I would highly recommend buying a Granite Homes home. High quality and great resale value!
