Don Field & Sons Construction, Brantford Reviews (2)
I installed a septic system on a custom re-do, complete renovation that Dennis Field was general contracting. He never paid me and stiffed me for 25 grand. There was no issue with the quality of workmanship, he just flat out strung me along and never paid me in the end. I missed the cut off date to lien the customers property by one day, only because Dennis begged me to wait because he said he was going to pay me. As a customer, deal with this creep at your own peril. As a contractor, get full payment up front.
My understanding is that Field Homes are well built. Our neighbor keeps telling us that our home is better built than his (different builder). We just moved in and have found out that 2 major areas need to be fixed.
Perhaps the contractors were faulty...the roof needs replacing on a home that was built in 2001. There is no flashing where the peaks meet at the front, and the shingles are already curling. We have to add more roof vents as there is not adequate venting for the cathedral ceiling. We were made aware of some of this by the Home Inspector, but liked the home enough to go ahead and purchase.
Two of the 3 front windows have broken seals...this we did not know as we had the Home Inspection before the really cold weather and this problem did not show up.
We love the open concept and the walkout basement and have a garage for the ramp that our son needs to enter the bungalow.
