Caffe Demetre, Toronto Reviews (3)
The service at this location is really poor if you go during the day on the weekend. We've gone a few times and had to wait for coffee, brought food we didn't order and had to ask for everything including water and the bill each and every time! The weekend day staff socializes with each other and ignores customers. At night fairly decent service.
friendly staff. lots of choices. dessert was so-so (save your money, you might as well buy a cake from dominion....i am sorry i mean betty crocker)just desserts cakes are A LOT more pleasing for my tastebuds. the price was a bit pricey since the quality of the food was not that great.
I went to Demetre's with coquettish.n49.ca and another friend because I felt like indulging my sweet tooth.
The place itself is pretty big and has a patio, which is nice when it's sunny.
The menu has a lot to offer and is trying to be original and fun. We all ordered some tea and cakes.
You'd better be really hungry because it's a lot to eat.
None of us could finish the whole thing but if you want you can have it to go.
The service is ok, they are not all over you all the time, which I appreciate. I had once to go after a waiter for a glass of water but that's no big deal.
Overall it was a good moment with friends and good (and heavy) cakes.

I tasted a bit of it, and doesn't even worth being mentioned :D
It was still not even close of what I expect from a restaurant making crepes...

It's funny because this weekend I walked past a Cafe Demetre and thought "I wonder if Laurent has ever been here... I have heard they have good crepes"... and what do I find when coming in to work, a review!
I used to go to this place all the time, but the one in Mississauga.
So good!!!
So good!!!
ok i thought you are after the perfect crepe in the city and you actually didn't mention anything about the crepes!!! .. did you even have it? or just cakes ... somebody at your table has a crepe there ... how does it compare with your last cardboard experience?
