I am very disgusted with so called custom stairs and railings. If you were a woodworker you would know what I am talking about. They say that is the way things are done around here. Really !!!. I have seen newel post that is not glued together properly and you could see the light right through the joints.They talk about quality and I see crap. They only bully the poor installer who gets paid, $12 to $15 to install a newel post. Installing a newel post is the most important part of any railing install. I can go on for ever but to summarize, these big railing companies getting rich by taking advantage of customers and take it from the little installer guy. The only thing they do really good is they make good money by false advertising. and if a customer complains about the product or service, who do u thing will pay for it, ??/ the poor installer that doesn't get paid well in the first place. I am joust saying, it is not right. My advice is if you are remodelling your railing take your time and do a good research and go with a small company with good reputation.
