CZEHOSKI (cha-hos-key) - a name that carries the pride, tradition and energy of the Polish/Czech family that made this eighteen-eighties-something building on Queen Street West it's home, business and future for more than 75 years.

A rich provenance as a community butcher shop and deli, spiced by a reputation as a regular hangout for some of the city's most notorious card and craps games, all lend a kind of racy cache to Czehoski, our hip new restaurant and bar on Queen Street West. Even the understatement of our 1924 faded wooden sign with its peeling paint suggests that this is a place with an intriguing and colourful past.

For those seeking the energy and vibe of Torontos newest nightlife frontier, we offer it all: fine tradition with a pulsing riff of contemporary design. After more than two years of respectful restoration, Czehoski today evokes a quirky blend of downtown sophistication and heritage warmth - a virtual time capsule of Toronto history with hardwood floors, original brick walls, and well-worn butcher block. The cooling display case that now houses our wines and beers, once displayed sausages and cold cuts. Even the massive oak-clad walk-in cooler with its vault-like door has been inventively transformed to become a functioning part of our open kitchen.
