I am expecting a delivery, these are big items and the concierge in my building will not accept. They tried the first time, I was not home so the security refused to accept it.
So I called them up and scheduled an appointment, they said the next day. I was home the next day, the item didn't come, I called them up and they said the package was MISSING! I have to call three times and they're not taking note of my case. Also i found out that there is no record that I called them for a new delivery schedule.
Finally, I got a new status on the package that its on vehicle for delivery, I went home and waited there, only to find out that the status have changed all of a sudden to "scheduled delivery appointment required" I freaked out, I'm waiting right there at home.
I called them up and said that the security once again refused my package, I went to the security and said they haven't received anything, so whats going on!!!!!!!!
I called purolator again and asking them to track the truck and inform them to return to my building, they couldn't! it has to be the next day again.

I had to ship a box rush and call Aeromax in Montreal, they were unbeleivable how they helped me with all the paperwork and guided me through the whole process. Not to mention that the price they quoted me was half of the big carriers such as Fedex and UPS. If anyone needs a good reliable courier please call them www.aeromax.ca

Perolator failed to deliver a package for 3 days after it had arrived in Ottawa, in spite of telling me it would be delivered on the first day when I phoned. It failed to be put on the truck for delivery two days in a row and when I said I would pick it up they told me I couldn't because they had to put a trace on it and would call me back. When I didn't hear I called them they claimed they called twice and the line was busy - I have voicemail. When it finally arrived it was broken. After being hung up on twice, I am waiting for a call back so I can complain. Good luck! What a way to do business.

This review might be somewhat long, but please read it.

I live in Ottawa downtown in an apartment building. My front door buzz number is wired to my cell phone, which is always near me, even if I am in shower or sleeping (yeah I am paranoid). So I can always trace attempted deliveries. If I miss a delivery - 'll have a missed call and I will always find a sticker attached near the buzz board (building entrance).

1. Every single delivery company actually tries to contact me through the buzz board. BUT NOT PUROLATOR. Apparently, they just find the main entrance locked and leave automatically. They never attempt to contact me (even if buzz number is printed on the package, yes I ask senders to do that), or leave parcel with superintendent (her office is next to the entrance and is CLEARLY open/visible during the day).

2. Every single delivery company (UPS, DHL, CanadaPost etc) leaves a delivery slip if I am not at home. BUT NOT PUROLATOR. They do call occasionally along the lines "ohai, we made zellion attempts to deliver, but you are never home, so we have your parcel and we send it back tomorrow because we can't keep it any longer".

3. I have a Purolator depot near my house. However, they never leave my parcels at that depot. Instead I have to drive 15 miles to another depot to get it. However, recently I found that you can call their 888 number and force them to send the parcel to the local depot of your choice. So if you are in the same situation, use that.

In my experience they are the worst possible delivery company there is in Canada. Whenever I order something online and delivery method is not mentioned, I actually call the seller and verify that delivery is not done by Purolator. That's how bad they are.

I've called multiple times to Purolator 888 number with complaints. They always say they'll look into it, but nothing is ever done (3 years is enough to make that conclusion).

This all sounds pretty funny, but is actually pretty sad.

Thanks for reading.

This sadly seems to be an ongoing issue with Purolator.. You are not alone.

It happened to me, twice. I live in Vancouver, so that makes it a cross-country thing.

Hi, I created this review 3 years ago.

So, 3 years later I decided to give Purolator another shot. I had some stuff delivered by Purolator (or at least attempted) from another province. To the very same address in Ottawa.

What changed? Nothing changed. First package took two attempts to deliver, with me catching the Purolator guy leaving (thus getting my package, by luck). Second attempt.. well, same routine, Purolator delivery man not bothering to find my name on a buzzer callboard, I call and ask them to put my buzzer # on the package, still not delivered (this time reason is not specified). Now they don't even know where my package is and promised to call me back (never did, zing, surprise).

These guys must be very cheap if they manage to stay in this business for so long with this kind of service. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I have the same experience, I live in an appartment building. They came several times. I asked them to leave the parcel at the management office. Every time they come they refuse to do that and It's been a week. Terrible.

They supposedly attempt to deliver packages to residences during the day when most people are at work. Then they leave a note telling me to drive across the city to pick up a parcel (i.e. - to do their work for them).

If they cared just a little about providing customer service, they would phone first, leave a message and arrange delivery a different day.

I would never ship anything with Purolator

I have the same experience as the previous poster/reviewer. I also live in an apartment building that requires a buzzer code to enter. After giving all the information required (buzzer code, correct address, phone number, etc) package was still not delivered. Reason given was that the buzzer code was incorrect, despite the fact that I just checked to make sure it was working. I don't understand why Fedex or UPS can deliver parcels to my apartment but not Purolator.

I live in an apartment building. For some reason the delivery personnel at Purolator seem to feel that adequate deliver procedure is to automatically deliver the parcel to the delivery center. Thus ignoring the use of the call in the building and failing to leave a note indicating that the package has arrived. After 5 buisness days of keeping the package Purolator happily sends the item back to the sender...

What terrible service
