We bought 2 sofas at Sears Home Furniture store at Northside location 13932 -137 Avenue on NW, Edmonton, AB on September 18, 2016 and delivered on September 30, 2016. We also purchased 5 years extend warranty. On Oct 05, one of two sofas purchased stopped working on power reclining. we called the salesman but he told us it is over 72 hrs for returning. We had to call customer services for repairing on Friday, Oct 07. We have been waiting on service repair guy until today Oct 12, but nobody gives us a call. Keep waiting and waiting. On Oct 11 the 2nd sofa also stops working. What the pieces of junk/garbage furniture. Sears Customer Services are the worst. Never in my life I will buy any thing from Sears again....But too late, I think Sears is closing its business next year forever.

Purchased 2 large overstuffed microfiber chairs from Sears in Victoria, BC. Nice and comfy and seemed to be heavy and well made. After about 7 years the arms are sagging and show no evidence of any foam or stuffing. Looks terrible and will have to have the entire chair(s) re- upholstered at a cost of over $900 per chair. These should have lasted longer. the rest of the chair is holding its shape. Won't purchase any furniture from Sears ever again.

I would not recommend the Sears Home Store in Scarborough. I went to buy a sofa bed for my son and asked lots of questions e.g, does it come assembled, gave a price range and budget. After having it delivered along with a twin bed set, it turned out the sofa bed had unassembled steel legs with screws that would require drilling. If the sales associate had been aware of it , I would have gladly paid for the assembly charge. When I spoke to the sales associate he said it was a new product Klick Klack sofa bed and he did not realize it came unassembled. He offered to credit my account for the delivery charge to compensate for the added cost of having to purchase a drill, drill bits etc to put it together which took over two hours by the time we drove to the hardware store and back along with the labour involved. A week past still no credit on my account and when I called Sears Customer Service , no accountability or apology . The sales associate has not returned my calls either but walked away with his commission.

Best to go to the Brick or another place like the Bay or Ikea and look for a company that demonstrates integrity.

If I have the option to choose minus 5 star, I will do that because their service and attitude do not even earn one star from my family. I am the same type of poor guy who wrote his review about purchasing a $10,000 dining set from Sears Home in Mississauga. I experienced the same problems with Sears Canada when I purchased a what they call Italian made Sofa. The 1st shipment never show up without informing the customers. We were waiting in our condo for 3 hours like dumb. The 2nd one delivered was late by more than 6 hours as they ask us to wait from 12 noon -6 pm but it arrived at 6:30pm and the Sofa that we received was damage on the sitting surface. (We were waiting more than one month to get this Sofa). We try to talk to the staff and even general manage of the store and they are impolite and rude. They even ask you to cancel the deal and refund money. That explain why Sears Canada is closing their store one by one in Canada. The 3rd shipment was guaranteed by the general manager that it will be pre-inspected before delivery. Guess what, the second Sofa was damage again when we inspected it. What a joke to Sears and Shame on Sears Canada. After we spent so much of our time and running here and there in order to get this problem solved. We finally decided that we have to cancel the deal and get the money refund as they wish. Shame again on Sears Canada. I really want to tell all the smart consumers to really look at this two reviews and make a wise decision whether you should offer your business to this company with staff who are impolite, rude and do not care about you if any thing happened. Please also think twice before you buy stuff from them as you must inspect it carefully as most likely you will get a big surprise from them. If you still wanted to go ahead, good lucky to you but make sure you have enough time to play the game with them as they will make you waiting like a dumb in your house for many days and hours. This is my terrible purchase experience that I have encountered when I got my Sofa from Sear Home Scarborough which are locate on Kennedy Road south of Hwy 401.

We bought a what they said Italian Sofa from them and they confirmed delivery will take place in August 29 which was a Friday from 12PM to 6PM. We took a day off from our work that day and we waited until 3PM afternoon and no one called us to confirm whether they were on their way. We called the store and was surprised to know that the Sofa will not be delivered on that day due to late shipment. We called the General manager and he never wanted to answer our phone even we left the message to him. We went over to the store and asked them why we were not informed by them if there was no delivery. The staff said this was not their fault as it belongs to the problem of their shipping department. We were arguing with the staff why they are wasting our precious time. Then the general manager came out from his office, he didn't say sorry to us about their fault but he just asked his staff to arrange another delivery to us on the next Friday. We were very upset when we left the store that day. Again, we have to take another day off from our work and we were waiting until 6:30PM (delivery should be from 12:00 noon to 6:pm) to get the sofa. The delivery guys left the house in 2 minutes and we checked the brand new sofa, it has damage scratched on the seating surface with the size of half a penny. We went to the store immediately and we said to them why they are sending us a sofa with damage. This time we dealt with the assistance manager and she said to us that if you guys are not happy with what you have got, you could just simply return the sofa and we will refund your money. We told them it is not a matter of getting refund of the money but it is the ridiculous services that we are getting from Sears, and we were spending two Friday afternoon for nothing. What we felt at that time was Sears's staff doesn't care about the customer feeling and they would rather let the customer to cancel the deal and kick the customers out of their store. We complaint to the general manager again and he said he will pre-inspect the sofa next time before the delivery but again he didn't even say sorry to us. We took one more Friday afternoon off because of that and guess what, the sofa that we received this time have 3 needle holes on the seating surface which everyone can see it. We rushed to the store again and this time we were so upset and we ask for an immediate refund of money in our bill and they were very happy to do that, but they required us to go back home and let them pick up the damage sofa from our house first before we could do the refund.

When we look at the whole process and handling procedures of this purchase, I can say this is the most ridiculous business that a big company like Sears Canada could provided to their customers. No wonder why they are closing their store in Toronto one by one. Their staff are rude and impolite and you can feel that they do not value your business, you can also tell that they do not have a good communication between their store and their delivery warehouse, neither do they have a good system to monitor the quality of the products that they are selling. How can two(2) brand new sofa could have damage on it? This coincident is not acceptable to any customers. In facts, the most important part to a customer who walks into their store and offer the business to them is that Sears's staff have no intention to look after and value their customers properly. There are so much competition in the furniture markets right now and if Sears Canada have staff treating their customers with this kind of attitude and terrible service, I really don't think they are able to survive any longer in this business. I did buy appliance and furniture from Hudson Bay and Ikea and their treatment are totally different. I did relay my complaints to their Senior Management and no one seem to take any action to settle our complaint and we would like to remind all the consumers about this terrible experience that we have encountered in Sears Canada, Scarborough Home Centre.
