We had this company provide us with a 1 season application of fertilizer. The following year we attempted to cancel. They continued it bill us without contacting us. Once they realized that we didn't want their services and tried to cancel they started harassing us by phone. We continued to try to cancel and they got more aggressive demanded a full seasons worth of payments. They then started to threaten us with credit collections and credit ratings issues. The final straw was they have hired a credit agency with a bill 10 times the value of the service. This is appalling and the government Consumer Protection Agency should be protecting consumers from such practices. The company's main office is in Ontario and I live in Calgary. Since they are trying to aggressively harass me in a jurisdiction 2500 kilometres away I have no way to defend myself in an Ontario court. If they have a civil complaint they should be addressing it in a local jurisdiction that the service was provided.
Do utilize these services and be very careful about reverse cancelation contracts. These contracts were challenged years ago by consumers against the cable companies successfully. Many don't realize this and just concede to avoid the hassle and concern about their credit rating.

Being unhappy with my 2011 lawn care service from Dr. Green in 2011, I cancelled the service for 2012 in the Winter on the phone. In Spring of 2011, my lawn was fertilized for 5 minutes one day while I was at work according to my neighbours. Called immediately to cancel AGAIN. Have since received invoices in the mail, phone calls harrassing me for payment of the 5 minutes of fertilization - and, after several months, several late fees have been charged to me as well. My 80 year old mother moved in with me 2 years ago and she is the recipient of these harrassing calls. Will now pay the original fee to ease her emotional suffering but, will write owner and the BBB too. If harrassment continues, legal action will be sought. Keep away from these schizters!!!

Dont bother to sign up with a company which states on their invoices,but not on their advertising flyers,

" FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE SERVICE WILL CONTINUE FROM SEASON TO SEASON"

especially if you choose to prepay, and then want to cancel.

its almost as bad as trying to cancel a gym membership, only to find out that they will continue to bill you after you prepaid the whole year.

go with spring masters intead and pay when the service is done.

their after sales service is great when you are a client of theirs, but as soon as you decide to cancel one of their programs and go a la carte they treat you like garbage. I was insulted by Patricia whom acknowledged that we prepaid our yearly fee, and then had the balls to tell me that we did not request to discontinue the service after the term we requested to pay for. And to make it worse, when I asked to speak with the owner, patricia tried to tell me that the owner wouldn't want to discuss the situation with me. I hate it when employees try to give me the opinion of the owners without directly speaking to them first..

i'm going email them this review, and then ask to speak with the owner Lorraine Van Haastrecht and see if this is the way they intend to do business with past and present clients going forward.

And if it is i'm going to blacklist them and ensure my whole neighborhood, and the virtual online community knows, so that hopefully they do not treat potential or existing clients like they treated us.

Dr green.. are you really a Doctor? or is that another lie... just like your claim to excellent customer service..
