Biggest rip off there is. The make a lot of promises and then after terrible results they have all the excuses then recommend other procedures at a huge cost . The applicators are paid by the job so they do your lawn at record speeds and skimp on fertilizer . I recommend doing it your self. Very annoying company. Hardly any results with weeds after 4 applications. Asked for refund and said they couldn’t do it. One star is too high for this review. Beware stay away from this company

TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU'LL REGRET IT!!! I told them not to come to fertilize until one week because we're building a deck and we had a bunch of stuff on the grass. They came two days later. They scheduled a refertilizer and didn't even show up. Now, they're trying to charge me for the service when I specifically told them we weren't ready, which is their error. Like what did they fertilize the deck boards, what a joke!!! Alyssa, the manager, couldn't even speak with me because the sales Rep Nicole and Vinessa said she was too busy. I'm sorry, but customer service should be the main priority. This is a terrible company. I would give them a -100 if I could. BE WARNED!!! YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!

Bad service. Always trying to upsell and no matter how much you spend, your lawn will still look terrible. None of my neighbors pay a lawn care company, they do it themselves and their lawns look beautiful and weed free. Me, I'm a senior citizen and I pay the "weed" man. Yet my lawn is COVERED in weeds. I've complained to them several times about it, but all they try to do is "upsell" me. They've done nothing about the money I've already paid them to get rid of weeds. When I tried to phone to cancel my entire program, the lady on the phone would not cancel me. She said no, they won't give up on my lawn. But they continue to do nothing about my weed infested lawn. But they want "more" money for this and more money for that. You can keep paying until your broke and your lawn will still be covered in weeds with them. Also crab grass is a weed, but weed man says they "charge extra" to treat that weed. WTF.

I'm very happy with the improvements of my lawn.
Its much thicker than ever before. The fertilizer is just amazing stuff, I'm cutting my lawn at a rate of almost twice a week.
The lawn techs are very professional, friendly and hard working.

Weed man did my lawn care for two years the result was so terrible ,a lot of weed all over my grass ,a lot of bald spots.i was in overseas for a few month this spring .for the terrible job they had done Last year ,No progress,i did not even wanted them to do anything with my grass .i was overseas for a few month this year ,and apparently on their own they came to my lot without my permission to fertilize the grass .i had never replied to any pricing agreement they sent to my house .last year they charged me 250 dollars for season ,this year my wife caught them a couple times in our grass and told them we don't want their services ,apparently they continued ,I sent them a cheque this year for 250 dollars ,just to be done with them now I received a letter from collection agency that I owe weed man much more money ,people be advised this is their trick ,they continue doing your lawn without even you signing a contract with them .make sure you call them to let them know you don't want their services otherwise they continue doing your lawn and charge you what ever they want ,the prices ,which you never agreed to pay .

I told the agent at the beginning "I'm not going to renew it next year." The agent said "OK." The next year they trespassed on my lawn and charged me $130+. I'll file them a class action if you wanna join. william.q.yang at gmail

Weedman is an unprofessional ripoff scam. I used them for one year and lawn was horrible. I did not want service again and did not sign up for it but they showed up twice within a week to apply something and charged me for it. When questioned they claimed it is a continuous service and that negative billing is a perfectly acceptable practice. Bad service, bad customer relations, bad company.

In 2015, my 90-year-old father hired Weed Man to provide lawn care services (fertilization, weed control, etc.). They began services in the spring and by the first of July his yard was a mess. He had MORE weeds than he ever had in the past 20 years, when he took care of the lawn himself. The intention was to lessen dad's load not increase it. We called to complain about the service and wanted to see some improvement before we made any more payments to the account. The invoices kept coming with no improvement.

AND THEN they called my father in early 2016 to see if he wanted lawn care this year and he gave them a definitive NO. So what do they do? Last week they showed up and applied "some" product. It completely boggles my mind as to how this company can still be operating.

I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN!

I can't even give this company any stars at all! I asked them for a quote on getting my lawn done. They gave me a call and I said I wanted to think it over and I would get back to them if I was interested in their services. They are so friggen annoying and have called my phone every single day for the last 2 weeks asking me if I want them to care for my lawn! The answer is NO!!!!!! STOP CALLING ME!!!!! I asked them to stop calling and told the woman on the phone how annoying it was having them call every single day and she laughed at me and hung up! I would never ever recommend this company to anyone!!!

I just emailed the company to share my distaste with there business practices. I just had a rep come to my door in February at 8pm with the temperature under 30F. I think phone sales would have been just as effective or possibly wait another month or even door to door during the day when temperatures are a little warmer. This was not effective to get me to sign up with their business and if anything makes me think very negatively about how the company treats their employees. I have read the reviews and it seems customers have a lot of negativity towards the staff. I would be a disengaged employee too if I was treated this way. I really felt sorry for the kid who came to my door. Not to mention these kids are standing out at the corner waiting in cold to be picked up by there boss. Shame on this company

The reason we start our Customer Outreach in the Winter is because a lot of customers are already starting to think about what type of lawn care they will need in the Spring. Our Customer Outreach Representatives do a great job of being a face for our company in the community in a more personal way that over the phone or through mailing campaigns.

We recognize that the job may seem unappealing to some people, but we are always very up front with what the job entails before anyone signs on. Many of the students who are employed by us are happy to get experience in sales and marketing, while making enough money to help save for school and support themselves. I do not want these people coming to my door anymore. It is only April 10 and they have been at my door twice in less then one week one of these times at 9 pm. I am sick and tired of this company, and will never get there services.

Its the fact they absolutely wrecked my sod that was laid just the year before and looked. Thats why I opted to let them do it. Now im embarassed and have no idea how to fix a lawn full of weeds. So glad I spent 2grand on sod!!! I hate you weedman

Weed Man has extreme marketing tactics this is true, however they use the same products every other company uses and do a fine job. With every company I'm sure there are bad employees but they sure did a nice job on my lawn.

They call to often, they do poor work and charge to much. its better if you let the lawn rot then call them, you will be wasting 300$ + for nothing.
I called them to get rid of a few weeds and now i don't have grass on the lawn at all but don't worry they have another program for the same amount of money and a promise to fix the mess they made. It's a rip off don't go to them. Look at the pictures i uploaded of my lawn after Weedman did it's great work.

These people call my house 1-2 times daily. I have asked 3 times seperately to remove my phone number from their calling list but so far i have had no luck. They continue to harrass my family every day and night. If anyone sees this review and could give me some advice i would appreciate it very very much thank you. This should be illegal.

Weed man completed aunauthorized lawn care on my 91-year-old grandfathers lawn this month, assuming they could because he had one element of lawn-care done last summer. He has been in the hospital for over a month and Weed Man has left letters and messages threatening to ruin his credit and charge copious amounts of interest because of his non-payment. This company has now taken it upon themselves to remind my father and aunt about this "credit-ruining non-payment" through the contact method they originally called Weed Man at to discuss the issue. This company is absolutely disgusting for harassing a very sick 91-year-old man and his family that is also going through stress. Shame on you and your employees.

The Weed Man company that I took was in the Outaouais region.
The worst 2 years of money spent on lawn care with weeds and weeds.
Last year they kept coming back to spray for the weeds at least 6 times on each occasion. And still weeds were coming out.
This year when they fertilized with those little pellets, I had pellets all over my patio stones.
What do you think happened in between the cracks of the patio stones, (the driveway of four cars lenght plus 3 walkways). Yeahp weeds and grass were coming out like crazy.
When I called them to point out that what they did, they're answer was that they were sorry, and told me to go and buy some Round Up to kill the weeds. Can you imagine, the nerves to tell me that?
I told them, after the hundreds of dollars spent to get rid of the weeds, you're telling me to buy Round UP? I told them that they can forget about me and that whenever I can tell someone not to take this company ever I will.
They said they can't remedy the situation because of the spray they use. I'm telling you they are not worth very much if they can damage your lawn and driveways.
My husband and I broke our backs just to try and get rid of those weeds.
So do yourself a big big favour and don't spend your money on this Weed Man company unless you want trouble.

On the phone they promise great lawns and no weeds. Well not only was my lawn the worst in my 16 years living here, but they stained my driveway, fence and shed with their spray. After several calls and promises to fix the stains, they still haven't addressed anything.

Do yourself a favor, hang up if they call you and never call them. After telling people about this company everyone highly recommends Mr Good Lawn.

This is the worst you can ever get. Our lawn has not improved at all after 3 treatments - well, first of all they would have to treat the lawn properly. They never touched about 1/3 of it. I work from home, my computer is by the window, so, I could see them to spent about 1 -2 minutes spraying. We complained to the person who came to do the "mid-summer" inspection, he said that they would be here to fix the lawn the next day and again the following week, well, nobody showed up the next day or the following week.

We called the office in Hamilton 2 weeks later to complain again, they said that they would send a manager to check our lawn because the person who came before was only technician. To our surprise, the same man showed at our door and asked what we wanted. When we asked why nobody came 2 weeks ago as he promised, he said that "they had technical difficulties".

On my third call to the Hamilton's office, I managed to talk to a manager (Heidi). I asked for a refund - I am really not interested in any more lies about who will come and fix something and then not show up; it is now almost the end of August and our lawn is much worse than it was in May and June. I also asked about the man who came, the manager first tried to convince me that a different man came the second time, when I said that it was the same man, just the first time they claimed he was only a technician and now they say he is a manager, she said that he was promoted in the past 2 weeks.....

The manager was of no help at all, she claimed that they actually came 4 times to treat our lawn, mind you, every time they come, they leave a note for the customer saying what they did- I saw them 3 times, only have 3 notes from them, so, do not believe that they were here 4 times. The manager would only be willing to refund very small portion of what we paid. She also told me that they do not guarantee that they will destroy the weeds - which contradicts their contract - exact wording: "Four liquid weed killer applications using our new weed control product --Fiesta. Fiesta works fast-results shown in hours, not days. We will provide free reapplications to treat your weeds until they are gone. We guarantee results." She also told me that the contract does not say that they will refund money you pay ...... which is true - so, be extremely careful.

You will have no chance to get anywhere when you talk to any of them, it seems that they get away just with making up anything they want to get your money - which I would not mind if they actually did what they promised!!!!

While I realize that the new Ontario rules about weed control are frustrating, this company has made all kinds of promises to us about their ability to remove weeds. Let's just say that we have more weeds now than ever! We have one of the worst lawns in the neighbourhood now. They offered to provide some repeat services for free after agreeing that their products didn't work very well. Now we are in a situation where they are phoning repeatedly and mailing us Invoices, and adding on Late Payment Charges -- for what we were told were free services. Each person who phones seems to know nothing about our past, so it's a time consuming process to explain... but it goes no where. I would not recommend dealing with them what-so-ever!

Thanks for the note... I was sure we weren't the only ones! I am just at a loss as to how to proceed. I don't like having this hanging over me -- we are not the type of people who don't pay our bills! However, I refuse to pay the Weed Man! You are so right about how all of their employees seem to say whatever they want!

We are in the same situation. The worst lawn in the neighborhood. Absolutely impossible to get to a conclusion. Technicians, call center employees, and managers will say whatever they want.

I am very upset about the way they actually deal with us. I will complain to the Better Business Bureau. The contract says that they guarantee results. I have pictures to prove that they did not fulfill their part. I will also post the same I posted here on every forum I possibly find and make sure that I tell everyone I know not to fall in their trap.

Right on! I think taking pictures is a great idea! I doubt the BBB will do anything -- they seem to have lost their clout lately, but it is still worth a try. Like you I am telling everyone I can to avoid them! Thanks.
