Oliver Place, Edmonton Reviews (3)
I would give this place zero stars. I have lived here for years since Centurion took over this building it has become a tenan'ts nightmare.
Taking the elevator a woman got on at 8th floor naked. Tenants have assaulted people in the elevators. Watch where you step in the elevator as well you might step in dog poop. The elevators are scary. Doors won't open on your floor. I was trapped in them twice. They also lock the elevators Saturday night into Sunday morning. A neighbor and I waited 45 minutes for an elevator Sunday morning. That is illegal.
The 4th floor has lots of issues. I have seen this when accessing the sun deck and pool area from the 4th floor. There are homeless people camped out in the stairwells. Seen drug paraphernalia in hallways and stairwell. Graffie of people loving ICE. Seen empty beer cans in the lobby and elevators. There is partying on the benches. One tenant hides his booze in water bottles. Packages get stolen from outside your door. There are tenants who will go around and try to see if your doors are unlocked to break into to your suite. I went to open my door I saw tenant have her hand on my door knob when I was leaving. Keep your doors lock and the security chain on because maintenance tried to enter my unit in the wee morning hours. People try to follow you in the main doors and get aggressive when you try to bar entry. I had someone try to jump me outside my suite when unlocking the door. Thank God another tenant scared them off. When security is on they either on patrol or sleeping on the job or not here. Safety is a big concern. The police are here all the time.
The construction is not stop. Even in the middle of night at times. Centurion lies all the time when its going to be done. When you go the office with issues the staff act like its a new thing. Peter and Ryan were talking outside the office one day when I was in the laundry room telling him to ignore the complaints. They are rising the rent and ignoring concerns to force people to move out. Again because Ryan talking about it on his cell phone outside the office. Back in February and March another lady from their buildings was covering here told me that. She was only Centurion staff member that was honest. When Centurion took over they broke their end of the lease agreement with tenants under the old lease by allowing dogs to move in with no notice. All the safety codes this place breaks. Contractors propping the stairwell doors open leaving stuff there or in the hallways. If the fire alarm go off people can trip and hurt themselves. Gross smells going through out the building. If Centurion responds this not your typical resident experience that is a load of bull. They are aware of all the complaints and continue do nothing about it. Why are all your long term tenants moving out if this is not your typical resident experience. There is nothing luxurious about this place.

Oliver Place is a good place to Iive or work if you like being near lots of transients, drug dealers, drunks and scumbags.
There are constant incidents here.
The worst part of the Place is the Manager, Norma. She's a real witch!

i have lived in Oliver place for about five years. downtown living... a good place to live.
i would not recommend shift workers move here. the bars can get loud and they are open till 3am, and the city traffic in the day time.
the rents here are reasonable for the city and almost every thing is at your door step.
