LensCrafters, Edmonton Reviews (11)
May 15,2017, I purchased Progressive Lenses Ray-Ban Sunglasses ($405.00) at Lencrafters 8882-170 street which i had accepted unaware that the lenses were defective.
December 26,2017, I ordered another pair of Ray-Ban Progressive glasses ($422.00) and when they arrived I realized that the short vision was totally out of focus (blurry). The lenses were cut incorrectly, short vision was too low by 4mm. Short vision unable to see anything. I took them back to Lenscrafters and they cut new correct new lenses. With the new correct new lenses, I can see perfectly sharp short and long vision. Now I realized how bad are my previous sunglasses are (unable to see anything short vision).
Store Manager Avril refused to repair the defective sunglasses stating that i should had complained in the first 30 days. Lenscarfters warranty is only 30 days from purchase and they refused to rectify the poor workmanship after 30 days. Claiming that the customer should had the expertise to identity the problems with the lenses. Store Optician admitted that the sunglasses are very bad but they do not take responsibility after 30 days.
Stay away from Lenscrafters it is fly by night operation. Adam M.

Phoned into Lens Crafters WEM on a Sunday morning, and was pleased with the cheerful, helpful response I got!!! The young lady was more than willing to help me with my questions. I really appreciated to have someone be as upbeat and sincerely interested in looking up the information I was looking for!!! Thankyou!!!
I am sitting here at LensCrafters waiting for a "troubleshooter" to assist me. I arrived here 10 minutes ago but I was just informed I have to wait up to 20 minutes for the troubleshooter to assist me as there's 4 dispenses that need assistance before helping me. I said to the woman "Even though I was here first?" She advised me she can't take the troubleshooter away to fix my problem as it will take longer. Asked me 3 times if I have shopping to do to which I informed her 3 times I don't.
My family and I have been customers of LensCrafters since 2001. Recently I purchased a pair of glasses. At the time of purchase I was told I would have the glasses in 10 days and that I would get a call from them when the glasses were ready. Day 10 no sign of a call, and at the end of the day I give them a call, surprised to hear the delivery date has been extended to 2 weeks. My old glasses were sort of broken, I requested to get the new pair as soon as they could get them done. I was really surprised when I called them now, the manager told me hopefully by 15 days they should have it. Seems like hope is all they have for my glasses. I question myself as to why I go back to them when I receive this sort of service. There should be an option for awarding no stars!!
I went in to have new lenses put into an old frame. I had to book an appointment with the optomitrist next door - my prescription was two years old. Fine. I booked the appointment and came in. The front desk staff said I'd be taken in shortly to the doctor. They were running 45 minutes late!! *Had they told me when I went in how late the doctor was running, I would had left without seeing her - they wasted my time* Fine. I waited to see the doctor and while waiting I went next door to see about my lenses. The staff was less than excited when I told them I wanted replacement lenses for an existing pair of glasses. They quoted me $180 for a single prescription. Fine. I told them I was an CAA member and should get a discount. They replied they already provided me with one and showed me their price sheet which stated the original price and then a discounted price of $180 - which they provide to all their customers - so is this some kind of scam...hmmmmmm? This is beginning to be 'not so fine'. It continued to go down hill from there: the Optomistrist got the prescription wrong, so the lenses were wrong and they were obviously wrong. I had to get my money back. The biggest time waster ever. You decide if you want your time wasted too.
They Broke my glasses .said I brought them there at my own risk. Rude manager. Time to call globle news
I bought some glasses at the beginning of December. I was told that they would take 10 working days to make because of the prescription (high index, HD and progressive). However in 4 days I got a call to say that the glasses were in. I went in to pick them up and tried them on. As soon as I tried them on I could tell the prescription was off as everything was blurry. I was told it would take getting used to. Still not sure how that would help. The vision on new glasses should be sharp and clear and not inferior to my old glasses. The optician insisted that everything was right on and to have my eyes retested. I had my eyes retested and the prescription had not changed.
I took the glasses back and got a refund but the clerk still insisted that my vision had changed. I did not want to argue as I was happy to get my money back.

I bought a very expensive pair of Ray Ban fames and lens's from there and after a while frame broke right where it attached to the nose. When I called and spoke to the manager he told me that there was nothing they could do for me and went right into a sales pitch. Telling me that they are currently have a 30% off sale.
Save your money go to Costco, not only are they lower priced to start they will stand behind there products!!!

My husband & I have been clients of Lenscrafters and Dr. Meyer & Associates (optometrists next door to Lenscrafters) for over 12 years.
There have been times we have had to wait for our new glasses but the staff have always been accommodating and very helpful. Repairs have always been done promptly. We have also returned glasses (we didn't like the frames or the lenses didn't seem right) within their 90 day warranty period without any questions ask.
Dr.Meyer (optometrist) has rechecked our prescription(s) without cost.
Since we reside outside of Edmonton, the service is greatly appreciated.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LENSCRAFTERS & DR. MEYERS!!!

Purchased 2 pairs of glasses in Dec. Around the 23rd. Called us in Jan -Around the 17th- to tell us glasses were ready for pick up. Picked them up. Got home and realized something was wrong with one pair. Not one to jump to conclusions, we IMMEDIATELY went BACK to the optometrist for another examination. Same results. Took the new prescription and the glasses back to LensCrafters. The employee who dealt with us was rude, abrupt and without much skill. Nevertheless, they are the professionals we thought so off go the glasses again. Another two weeks or so and we get a call, the glasses are in. Off we go again. Did I mention that we live over an hour outside of the city? Get there. Try on the glasses and whoa, there is something really wrong with them. After taking several minutes to convince the employee that there was indeed a problem, the employee managed to ascertain that the incorrect prescription had in fact been used. More attitude. Again, we send the glasses back. That was in the beginning of Feb. It is now the 25th and I got a call that the glasses are in. I want my glasses. I want to be done with LensCrafters and it is too bad that the customer service is so incredibly poor. The employee was horrified and shocked that I asked for a discount on the glassed because of all of the mistakes that were made. We will NEVER use LensCrafters again. I did not want to give them even a half star but the form demanded it.
I'm sad I had to give Lenscrafters Southgate a whole half-star. I work in the mall and went to Lenscrafters as my frames snapped in two 30 minutes before my shift began, hoping they could help. I've been a Lenscrafters client for 19 years. The salesgirl gives me a BS song-and-dance about how they can only put my old lenses into new frames if they have the exact same frame in stock - which they don't, so I need a whole new set of glasses. I know this is untrue for two reasons, being a) I've had old lenses put into similar frames, at Lenscrafters, about six times now, and b) I'm a formally trained glassmaker. So, either the associate had an unjustifiable lack of knowledge, had been told by management to say this so that they can make more money (i.e. she wanted me to get an eye exam and a new set of $400 lenses), or was lying - neither option being acceptable.
Has anyone else found that service at Lenscrafters stores in general has gone down in the past decade?
