Third world pay and lies. I was using my own vehicle for deliveries. The job interview consisted of a motivational speech from a former courier driver and lies on how profitable this job will be. They had me working for over 12 hours a day, making deliveries downtown and in other areas where it's impossible to find parking and you can easily get a parking ticket. One time they had me deliver an envelope in Orangeville when I was in downtown Toronto. I think the pay for that delivery was $2.00 and I had to drive back to Toronto empty. They will not tell you how much you made until you get your cheque after 2 or 4 weeks. I worked up to 12 hours a day and the pay did not even cover 1/3 of my gas expenses. I urge everyone to stay away from this scam and tell customers to stop using them as a courier company because they are clearly using and scamming drivers.

Company is not honest. In the end , pay is not what its suppose to be.
Company , does not pay for gas. Makes people do long distances for few packets.
Sometimes company is not busy. Driver has to wait for an hour or more at the same place.

Im a driver for this awesome company theyre surprisingly patient with me and even though I could be faster and I seriously try.. Even with my brain damage and short term memory loss Ive had since my battle with meningitis as a 6 month old I dont think I could find a better bunch of people to work for.

I literally put my life on the line. Worked here for 3 days. From 8:30am-5pm.

I completed 65 Deliveries give or take. Only took a few breaks. I know it's a lot more than most couriers there because even dispatch was surprised and said I'm an amazing help. No wonder why. I break down the hourly rate to 7.69/hr

No wonder they don't take your sin number.

If I was at any other company I would of made around $100/day or $300 off of 3 full days. I know because I've done it before. I completed just as many as I normally would and I feel like I was ripped off and scammed. They don't even tell you before hand how much you're getting.

So if I'm getting 65% commission...
Basic service I received 1.75 on average

Overnight 1.58

Emergency 7.50(normal)

Rush 2.63

But it varies and there's no way to tell how much they charged the customer so you don't really know if you're getting 65%

Even with other companies they not only pay more but I am getting $12/hr gurantee if it's slow. But i can make this 3 days of work in one day at my other company. BOGUS

Based on my experiences, Zap/ Roadrunner Couriers have been nothing but reliable and have never disappointed. The owner and staff have always been understanding in my 15 years of business with them and I suggest you go directly to him with your concerns and he will address them. This has always worked for my company.

I've been a client of Zap Courier for the past few years now and my company has never received better service. I've dealt with a few local companies in the past and was very disappointed not only with the staff but the service that was provided was not A+. I can honestly say that since i've hired them, there has never been an issue. The owner is very proactive in his business and accommodates all of my companies needs no matter the time of day and no matter the urgency of the call.

I would recommend this company for anyone who takes value of good service for their company.

Worked for Zap 2 ½ years , started slow but eventually got the hang of doing downtown deliveries ,
Would still be working there , if I didn’t have to relocate back home and tend to my family . good to know
That I’ll always have a backup plan in Toronto .

We started using Zap in October 2015 after our original courier began refusing to take our orders because they were gift bags. Even during Christmas when we sent out large bags and baskets we never had any concerns or complaints. Very happy with their service.

I've worked as a courier for 30 years,the last 17 at Zap.They have always been completely upfront and even generous with me.Some people may mistake the informality of the job with a lack of professionalism but that is rarely the case.With very few exceptions the people I have worked with have been courteous and respectful.Every courier is made aware of the time sensitive nature of the business and during my tenure at Zap have heard of lost packages only twice...in 17 years!They are reliable and affordable.Use them w/out hesitation

The previous review is 100% accurate. Do not work here. You will be scammed.

Apparently, according to the Zap Courier, their customers will get a personal driver for a package in Toronto for less than $10. Frequently you will be paid $4-5 for a job and you're supposed to get %50 per job according to the contract. Their numbers simply don't add up. Total BS. THERE IS NO WAY OF VERIFYING HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE THE CLIENT. They are scammers. Not worth the gas.

Dispatchers are also frequently incompetent, especially Jose.

Hi I261762, Sorry that you feel this way. Upon hiring we go through all the details and fine points of the job and what is to be expected. Before any individual starts deliveries we make sure that they completely understand the financial terms of their contract along with documentation. We even suggest in our contract that before an individual decides to sign on that they get separate legal counsel that they fully understand all aspects of the agreement.

Unemployed, looking for work that pays? Don't stop here, you could be cheated like I was.
After desperate search for work, I own a vehicle and decided to use it to earn some money was told that Sept 8 is best to start so I waited out the 2 weeks to Sept 8. Told I could make anywhere from 4, 5, or even 6 hundred $ per week; like some of the drivers, It will be my own business payday is 9th and 23rd of each month. First week was a 4 day week so I worked diligently, Monday morning of the second week, before I went out I inquired how much I've made so far, didn't get an answer that day; following morning I asked, I was told work and when we have an answer will get back to you. I was told the waybills inputted to the system so far comes to over $300+, but remember that was a short week, and not all my waybills are inputted yet, so the quote I'm given could come to more, and as I get better at this it pays more; . I was comfortable with that so I kept working through a second week, still asking questions about the pay and a concrete figure, I was always given the run around and will get back to you. I completed two weeks not knowing how much I would be paid.

None of the waybills had any $ amounts I only knew I would get 50% of whatever they get, at the time it sounded good to me, so I hung in there.

Three days into the third week I still waiting for the answer to my question, still getting the shift.

I desperately waited for the check from the 8 - 23 Sept., only to find there's none; they have to hold it, for a month; so I continued supporting their business on my maxed out credit card
I'm working 3 weeks buying gas on my credit card,
anyway, cut the story when I went for my pay my first week's check was $218, that could not even pay back the gas I used that week or any of the other expenses I incurred.

I was told if you get a parking ticket bring it to us we will handle it; just don't park in a NO STOPPING or NO STANDING ZONE; what they forgot to tell me is if the ticket is over $40 they don't pay it. So I got a $60 and I'm stuck with it. Not to mention the pay will net even cover the cost of gas at $218 and the full five day week's pay $228. I quit on the 25 when they wouldn't give me any answers when I genuinely asked I must know if it is worth the mileage, gas and time. On the 30 they told me they could let me use the company's card, it's their busiest day and I refused as they were still shifty regarding my pay this far. They still owe me according to them $120 for the 3 days into the third week, so If I'd stayed two more days ... I wonder how much the check would amount to.

The office downtown where I signed up I was ready to go pick up my check, but instead I had to go all the way to Hwy 7, now I must drive as no TTC will get me there. As I opened the check at their reception counter and inquired what time period this is covering. Their record only tells dates, codes, and a $ amount that you cannot check against anything to confirm its correctness or trustworthiness.

The owner's wife also became very loud and confrontational as I inquired about the amounts not matching what they told me . I was told as above 'my waybills that's checked for the first week of 4 days was already over $300 and may not reflect all way bills, plus this was a short week so the five days week will reflect better, why was I only paid $218 for that week?

Potential employees: this is to keep you working for free, the owner said he just got back from vacation, YOU will be paying for the next vacation, he said they've been doing this for over 25 years, so just imagine how many unhappy people are out there who have cut their losses and moved on without saying a word, I am changing the cycle for the next unsuspecting guinea pig: BEWARE

Life is hard pressed as it is without being a succor to someone else' exploitation, get all the facts first. Don't get caught up and be stuck with expenses you cannot afford while these vacationers pick you as target goon.

I have been dealing with Zap/Zaptor/Roadrunner Courier for over a year now. Every time giving them one more shot. No more!!! They are always late (if they show up) and the dispatcher is rude!

I will be taking my services somewhere else. The 0.5 Star is even too much for them. I was forced to add a rating.
