I feel that the service agent flat out lied to me and upsold me on a service that was absolutely not necessary. He sold me a TerraClean decarbonizing service. Here’s how the conversation went:

Service Agent: Have you ever had the TerraClean service?
Me: Not sure, what’s that?
Service Agent: It cleans out carbon deposits in the fuel system and your levels are starting to get really high.
Me: Do I need to get it done?
Service Agent: If you don’t do it, your check engine light WILL come on, and your car is almost there. You should’ve gotten it done every 25,000 km.
Me: My last dealer never told me about it?
Service Agent: They should have. They neglected to inform you.

As you can see, based on that conversation, you can imagine that I got the impression that TerraClean service is a required service. Nowhere in the Hyundai service schedule is TerraClean mentioned, and the Globe and Mail says that modern engines, like the one found in the 2013 Elantra, do NOT need it.

On top of that, At 5pm, I was told the service would take 1-1.5 hours (after already being in for an hour). I needed my vehicle later that evening, but I didn't receive a call back. I finally called the service department at 7pm asking if my car was done, and the person that answered the phone was confused and told me the service department was closed! Turns out the department wasn't closed, but it's pretty bad when the staff is unaware of the operations happening within the dealership. I would've appreciated a courtesy call to inform me that the service is taking longer than anticipated, but I didn't hear a thing, and probably wouldn't have for much longer had I not taken the proactive action of calling myself.

Sisley Hyundai has let me down, and it has let down my father in law (I will not even begin to share his complaint). I can't recommend Sisley to anybody I know. The agent I dealt with is Jovert Lagarto.

I called and made an appointment to bring in my car for 10:45 am. When I arrived the person behind the service desk seemed surprised I was there. Either way I was booked in....this is where things got sketchy. She asked me (the customer) when I would need the car back and I said I would need it that evening. Even made a point of telling her I had an appointment that night. Well...they didn't even look at the car that day!!! Seriously? There were no calls to explain there was a delay, no apology for the delay, nothing. Between my husband and myself we had to call several times before anyone returned our calls to even update us on the status of the repair which wasn't too involved. They were to replace tires and check and fix brakes. They did not mention at any point that they would need to wait on tires being delivered! So it goes into another way where again we got not one call to update and had to chase people all day to get any information. Finally at 4:30 pm the following day the car was ready. No explanation, no apology, no discount...nothing. Then there was the matter of the shuttle service I required after dropping the car off. They have one guy serving he Durham region. I was there with my 2 kids and they send 7 people out to a five seater car...wow! Do they not check the numbers of the passengers that are to be shuttled? Do they not know that communication is key to a successful business?
I will NOT bring my car back to Siley Hyundai.

Went to Sisley in to talk about a possible trade in. Had an appointment with Ray Hoskin. He was extremely knowledgeable, great sense of humour, friendly and made the process easy. Ray answered all my questions and sold me on what was best for ME. Test Drive route was amazing! He has a pre planned route which allows you to really test the car rather than just a quick loop around the block. Once we got back we worked out the numbers with ease and I spoke to Hyphen who is always a pleasure to deal with!!! I am excited to trade in my Tuscon and get my New Elantra Limited Thanks To Ray for making it stress free!

My dad was considering buying a premium Japanese or European car such as a Lexus. Then Hugh Sisley let him drive his Genesis sedan and we realized that we would have to spend upwards of $70k to get a similar level of comfort and features. Initially my family resisted as they didn't feel it was cool to drive a Hyundai. Now two weeks after making the purchase of the Genesis sedan we are all delighted. The car drives perfectly and the talking satnav and iPod/Iphone are useful and easy to use. The sales guy at Sisley Hyundai was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend our friends and family to Hugh's Sisley Hyundai for great cars and top notch service.
