I'm not sure why someone would have a problem with Lisa. She is amazing. She always cuts my hair beautifully to frame my face, and as someone with very fine, flat hair, she gives a great cut for me to add volume. She is a wonderful colourist, and always does what I asked for. She teaches classes on hair colour, so I'm pretty sure she knows what shes's doing. Very good at adding depth and edge to my dull hair.

Upon the recommendation of my girlfriend, I decided to give Afif Salon a try; From the moment the phone was answered, professionalism reigned supreme. Suha was my stylist and was attentive, personable, professional and above all did a wonderful job! I have officially found a new stylist, and will be back sooner than later. Thanks Suha!!

I have been through the mills of Toronto stylists. My search stopped with Lisa :) She is by far the most considerate, patient, caring stylist there is. She provides a perfect hair cut and magnificant colour each and everytime. This is one stylist that puts great pride in her work and it shows! The other thing that is great about Lisa is that she actually listens to her client - yes listens - I know incredible isn't it? In an industry of egos and opinions Lisa knows that listening to what the client wants and setting about to achieve those expectations is what makes a great client/stylist relationship. Here's to you Lisa...you are without a doubt in a class all your own!

I have been to many different high end salons and I know finding someone who can give you great colour every time is a challenge (anyone can give you great colour once, consistency is hard to find!) . I just moved to Toronto in September and a co-worker recommended Salon Afif. I am always reluctant to try new colourists as I've had bad experiences in the past but Lydia is hands down the best I've ever had, and has consistently given me great colour time and time again.

I get SO many compliments on my highlights! I highly recommend anyone who wants great blonde highlights to go to Lydia, she takes the time to space them perfectly, and get the shade right every time.

Cinzia is the sweetest kindest person ever....she talks u though everything n keeps u well distracted... ive told many of my friends/family to go see her and im telling many more.... My searching for a salon and hair stylist ceased after I took a friends advice and booked an appointment with Afif. I am sure we all share a common experience of dreading the cut or color of our locks. For many years I travelled the salons of Toronto trying this cut and that cut and being somewhat satisfied with one, only to hear that the stylist had moved on without leaving a forwarding address. It's difficult to find a salon with it all. Business longevity, employee integrity, atmosphere and location. Why do I return to Salon Afif, that's easy. Afif is simply a professional and employs professionals. I am in his and Lydia's total care. From the time I arrive they take care of me. Lydia is simply the best colorist I know. I listen to her advice and am always pleased with the outcome. She is friendly, caring and upbeat and knows what she's doing. Afif is an artist. After the first two visits I handed over my hair to him. He decides what cut he will give me when I go. How many people can say that? But it's true. His annual visits to Europe always make me feel that he's giving me a classic yet current cut. I think some of us can testify that when the cut and color are good we know, because we hear it from others. I am always being asked who cuts my hair, even when it has been four months since my last cut. I would highly recommend Lydia and Afif for any hair type. It will be one less stress in your daily decision making and you leave looking and feeling great!!

It was my first time at salon afif and I saw the girl downstairs, Cinzia. It was my first brazilian of my life but she was really nice and painless and she did a really good job. She was a sweetheart and made me feel very comfortable because I was very nervous. I am definately going to return to Salon Afif only because of Cinzia. I am going to send alot of my friends to see her there. Thanks for getting me sexified ;)

I had booked my appointment last tuesday for a cut and a colour.i reached there at quarter past 3.it took almost 5.30 hrs for just the colour and the cut.first lisa cut my hair and then the most horible time started.i asked her to dye my hair to chocolate brown,and after an hour it turned out to be dull black with shades of my previous colour.She then bleach my hairs,that was the worst part is that i wasnot aware of that.she applied bleach for almost an hour.it damaged my hair so badly.Above all there were still patches of different colours.so i asked her to dye it black because at that time i fully become aware of her dyeing skills.i went there for rich chocolate brown and ended up with jet black.She charged me 210 dollars for the colour and the cut.i still give some credit to lisa for the cut but for colouring she is very bad.In person lisa is very patient girl.will never go back to Afif salon.

  For the record, this client arrived at our salon and was given a complete and thorough consultation. She asked for her hair colour to be as dark as her natural hair, only richer. This was done, at which point she asked for the hair colour to be lighter. She ADMITTED that she did originally ask for this during the consultation and had simply changed her mind midway through the service. Bleach was never applied to her hair, a colour cleanse was. As she was preparing to have the new 'lighter color' applied, after the colour cleanse, she then asked for her hair to be coloured black. She was fortunate that she only paid $210 because she was told at the time that the services rendered would have cost over $300 but thanks to Lisa's patience and generosity this client was charged only for the product used during the correction of the colour. As professionals, we are familiar with these types of stunts, and would rather that clients such as these do not return to our chairs:)

  whatever they applied on my hair just damaged my hair and they still are.I was very much aware of the capabilities of your staff thats why i asked them to just dye my hair black because that was the easiet colour to dye and get the results.By seeing this comment of yours and pathetic customer service i would never like to get back to you guys nor would recommend anybody.thanks lisa

Everyone's glad to see you, eager to help and whether it's cuts, colour or style, the entire staff have that personal and professional passion for what they do to give you superb results. This place is unique - they know hair, they know style and they live and breathe the art of it all - and it shows!! We've been coming here for a few years now and have always had terrific results. Whether you're young or not so young, male or female it is obvious that, to a person, the staff at Salon Afif are there because they truly care about what you want and what they do. They train continuously to stay up with the latest trends - even Afif himself works at staying up with the latest products and techniques. You won't get anything short of great advice here! Would we recommend Salon Afif to a friend - you bet and we have!!!

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Salon Afif and enjoy getting my haircut by Lisa. She is fun and personable and does a great job with my hair.

I have very thick, dry, coarse waivy hair ... and only Lisa can color it in that perfect shade of brown... and only Lisa can give me a great cut when I want to wear it straight and an even better cut when I want to wear it wavy/curly... she is just amazing!! She is an artist! I recommend her to anyone and/or everyone.

It starts the day before my appointment. The phone call from Anna at Salon Afif comes, reminding me of my cut & colour tomorrow with Lisa, and the excitement sets in. No more painting the greys in my part, no more boring ponytails - a fresh new cut with colour is about to happen! I owe it all to Lisa McAuliffe. She makes the visit so fun and her attention to detail is impeccable. If you want the best wash, I highly recommend Dunja - she's extremely gentle and thorough, and she gives a great scalp massage. The entire appointment is fabulous from start to finish!

One thing I would recommend they change at the salon is the two plaques above the sinks. Sure, they are sending out positive messages, but I'll admit, I've had enough of H. Jackson Brown Jr. and love being patient and kind.

Lisa is a fabulous hairdresser. Her reputation as a famous colourist is well earned and she has got a wicked sense of humour. Lisa keeps me howling with laughter through every cut. The fact that she is masterful with both scissors and colour is an incredible bonus. As for Afif, I think it is a fine salon. To be honest though, the reason I am loyal to the salon is because of Lisa. My one problem with Afif is that they do not take Mastercard or debit. That means that I need to make a trip to the bank because I do not have a Visa card. I think that that is not very considerate of the customers and is a policy that should be changed!

  She did my highlights and lowlights last year.. I loved it! My hair looked amazing!!

Growing up I never needed a hairdresser. Eastern European with long straight healthy thick hair. Every 4 or 5 months your mom or some friend with scissors just cuts a few inches off and you are good to go. To alter this look you can cut lots of inches off or cut bangs if you feel adventurous (yet sorry later that day lol). The only challenge always was to make it straight. Once you master that, you don’t have a problem.

So why do I need a hairdresser now?

Because they make you feel like you are in HEAVEN!!! The whole procedure with having someone washing your hair, then gently massaging your scull, then washing it off with luke warm water, then applying some amazing products that smell soo good, then rubbing it into your hair and scull … and washing it off again … just a bliss.

I don’t go too often, I still like my straight long hair so I can afford to go only twice a year. I could probably go 3rd time but I can’t force myself just yet. It always costs me about $200 (including tip that is). But I honestly spend about 3-4 hours there.

I get my highlights, lowlights, the whole washing procedure, amazingly shaped cut gives a lots of texture to my hair, then when it comes the time to blow dry ... apparently I got lots of hair so sometimes I get 2 girls working on it for about an hour. How sweet it is.

Results? AMAZING, hair looks healthier and shinier than ever – every time.

And I thank for it to Lisa.
The sweetest girl who got to know my hair and makes it work for me. Best investment ever cuz I don’t have to go for another ½ year. Not sure if that is a good thing for their business but sure I only come back to her.

She broke me into dependency on a good cut … makes the world of difference if you have it done by a pro.

I recommend to make an appointment with her to anyone. I had a few friends sent over and they all became her clients (men & women). And the one who deserted her (and thought would find another one) came crawling back … enough said I think.
