Alisa and Frances did my make-up on-site at our wedding venue. They did a very good job on both my hair and my make-up, but I have to say that I was was extremely disappointed with their professionalism.

Alisa showed up half an hour late (even though I had confirmed with her 2 weeks before the wedding) and loudly said that she never wanted again to come to Graydon Hall Manor again because there were so many stairs and no elevator. (If she really did not like this, she should have said no to me in the first place. She had assured me she had worked there several times and liked it there. This is really not the first thing a bride wants to here on her wedding day.)

I had let Alisa and Frances know that myself and my 2 bridesmaids needed to be ready by 9:00am and they had said that this would be plenty of time. We were going to do pictures before the ceremony with the groomsmen and groom, but there was not any time to do this. I really wanted to continue with the getting ready part, but Frances and Alisa both stopped to share the bridal party's breakfast outside of the room we were getting ready in. It was incredibly frustrating to know that they were out there eating when I needed to be getting ready.

Frances and Alisa know each other very well and have worked with each other many times. They chatted the whole way through the process which was fine, but when they commented on my mother (who is asian) they said that she speaks very good english. (my mother was born in Canada, of course she speaks very good english). Needless to say, my mother was very offended by this remark.

While I was happy with the service that they provided, I was not happy with the manner it was done in. (especially because I have read so many good reviews about these too!) If you are booking with them, I would just double/triple check their arrival times and firmly let them know when you need to be ready by.

So I have used Alisa on multiple occasions etc and not only has she offered such a personalable service but WOW I have never met anyone with the talent Alisa has as a make up artist. If you need make up for ANY OCCASION, Alisa is a MUST!!! There is no one I have come in contact that has done a job as amazing as ALISA!!!

I had my makeup done by Alysa and my hair done by Francis, whom Alysa works with frequently. they were amazing. i ended up having a couple more people wanting their services than we had previously planned on and due to me getting ready slower than expected, i was late in letting them in so they could get started. not only did they jump right into what needed to be done, they took what i threw at them and handed me everything i could possibly want. all the ladies looked amazing! i wanted very dramatic makeup and so Alysa fashioned everyone to be dramatic. it made us look like we belonged in pictures together. and the hair... Francis did such an amazing job. my mother-in-law had very short curly hair.. a wash and go style and Francis took that and turned it into an elegant look that actually made her look younger!! she's doing that style every day now she loved it so much! the hair styles were so unique and suited each person so well it was amazing. with hair and makeup we all looked like movie stars.
even with the late start, they both had my party out and ready with time to spare. i had to leave and they cleaned up and locked up behind them. i didn't have to worry about anything and that was a relief. Alysa and Francis were amazing and i very highly recommend them!!!

Alisa worked her amazing talent and transformed my model to a stunning bride at Canada's Bridal show. A lot of brides from the show couldn't help but notice and ask who did the bride's make-up. Alisa Lyons certainly knows how to take beauty to the next level with her extensive background as a make-up artist. Next time, I will try her air brush make-up which a lot of brides are raving about. I would defintely reccommend Alisa and would use her make-up service again from "What a Face".

ALISA LYONS make up and hair - Alisa and Frances are an amazing duo. They came to our hotel suite on the morning of the wedding and got 10 women ready in 5 hours....and we all looked fabulous! I have been in a lot of weddings and there's usually at least one person that's unhappy with the hair and make up...not this time! Not one single complaint from anyone! They did a phenomenal job and the prices are very reasonable. I swear they took 20 years off the Moms! I am convinced that Frances can do anything with hair and Alisa is a true artist. Really, really beautiful job by both of them.
