Absolutely terrible dealer. Had the misfortune of having the sales manager (Sayeed, I believe) crunch our numbers. He starts most of his sentences with "Don't take this the wrong way," so he tends to be quite offensive. He recently told my parents that he would not give them a better deal because he did not like their mindsets. They weren't fond of kia in general, whereas I was and I would be the one driving the car. Of course he was a nightmare to deal with, so we left and ended up getting a good deal at Donnelly without getting talked down to. Right now, there are 3 kia dealers in Ottawa; I would suggest going to the other 2 and then this one only as a last resort.

Two observations - there are some really high ratings and some really low ratings for this dealership. The internet is pretty much anonymous and lots of sales guys don't have much to do during the day... you do the math.

When we go buy a car - we don't mess around. We get the MSRP and invoice information. We find the holdback amounts as well as all of the incentives. We go in with a deal that factors a fair profit to the dealer and we stay for about 20 minutes.

The sales "force" here is mired with terrible management and training. They still use sales tactics from the 50s and want to deal with "payment buyers". I suspect the salesguys get different levels of commission depending on how close the deal is to MSRP.

At any rate - no only were they dismissive of my wife but it would seem as though they just couldn't do the deal for reasons of pride. One email stated that she should quit "jerking" them around and get realistic with her price.

A competitor gave her the price she offered to these clowns.

Want to overpay? Go here. Otherwise, you will save $1000s elsewhere.

I bought a "New" Kia Roi5 back in 2007. It took 5 days for it to show up and my "New" car had 500km on it. As well as bird poop and 3 empty water bottles in it. When I asked the sales person he simply said "that’s the way it is" Needing as car (as they had already took my old car as a trade in 5 day ago) I said well I guess so.
I have been in the service department with major problems at least once a year. I have changed my stab rods, U joints, tie rods, gas line and the bearings twice. If you are thinking its because I am hard on my car, that is not the case. I only have 64000km on it and 500 of those aren’t mine!
Every time I go to the service department I am faced with the same extremely rude young man at the counter. I am surprised he has not been let go by now.
I wont even start on the financing part of my vehicle as I just get too angry as to what they did in a very sneaky way.

I loved working with the staff. Impressed with the friendliness, and mostly felt a level of honesty and sincerity I have not experienced in previous car purchases. Will definitely refer friends and will come back.

Waste of time. Uneducated (about the vehichles) staff. Terrible car shopping experience. I am thinking I won't get my 'deposit' refunded either. Watch out. Undelivered prommises.

Avoid like a plague. Service trying to finds reasons to charge extra by claiming that the problems are caused by parts out of warranty (spark plugs rather than coils). Presumably that way they can charge both you (for consumables) and KIA (under warranty). A simple oil change took 2 full hours despite having an appointment with a shoulder shrug and "we are short staffed today" serving an explanation (couldn't you tell me that before you took the keys to my car?). Cigarettes and change missing from glove compartment after a warranty repair. Bad, just bad, bad, bad. Do yourself a favour and deal with someone else.

How to begin, me and my girlfriend drove all the way to Ottawa from Toronto after being told they could beat competitors trade in values by 3000. Upon arriving we had been greeted by a sales rep. I explained how we had been looking to trade in our Porsche for something more practical, and how we liked the new optima and had already decided we wanted to buy one !!! Myself being well informed I asked many questions all of which my sales rep had not a clue about. After getting our vehicle appraised we decided we wanted to once again make the deal for one of the first cars to come in. Once again our sales rep had no idea what he was talking about and finally came back to us after not knowing anything and said "the car won’t be in for another month and we should let it go and you should come back" Being insulted we did exactly that. Strange however now that I’m home we have our Brand New Kia SX in our driveway a month before they claimed it would even be in the country. All I can say is disappointing experience. Wasn’t worth the drive or time.

I put in a trade-in appraisal request through their website and received a call a few hours later (even though I stated that my preferred method of contact is email) from a gentleman claiming to be the internet sales manager. We had a typical conversation; they'd like to see the car to appraise it, what car am I looking at, how much I am hoping to pay monthly etc and I agreed to come in to visit when I had a chance. He gave me his phone number and asked me to give him a heads up before coming.
I called the next day and left a message telling him I had time and would like to come in and to please call me to confirm if he is available. I got a call a few hours later saying "uh ya, someone called me from this number", when I asked who it was I realized that he had given me his personal number and explained that I had left a message and what it was about. He told me it was his day off, mumbled something about having had to go to Kingston last night and then once again, told me that this is his day off every week for future reference.
I had heard that this place has really high pressure sales tactics from every person I spoke to but I wanted to look around to make sure I was going to get the best deal. This one experience alone made me not want to go there anyway, I bought the car from another dealer.

VERY UNETHICAL August 11, 2009

The salesman made a major error on the payment terms our purchase agreement but my wife didn't catch it until she had made a $500 deposit.

It's 9 days now and we are still waiting for the refund promised "next day. They are not returning phone calls.
WOMEN BEWARE OF THESE GUYS!
