Dear C5,

We met briefly on Tuesday October 25th when I made a lunch reservation at the C5 restaurant for my guests from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia.

I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed that experience. From the professionalism of your maître d’; to the careful table set-up (and view); to the impeccable service provided by our server (whose gracious timing allowed the Trade Commissioner to fully translate the various menus, and to then deliver food at exactly the right time); to the wonderful food – I could not have found a better place for my Yakutian guests to remember Toronto.

As I may have mentioned to you, our group included Mr. Innokentiy Tarbakhov. I understand that he has been chef to the last three Presidents of the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia (Russia). He enjoyed the meal immensely – both in terms of the beauty of the setting and food presentation, and the quality of the cuisine. The Trade Commissioner of the Republic (Ms. Marina Dessiatkina) later described the meal as “spectacular and absolutely delicious.”
