I began training in pilates one year before I turned 40. I wanted to be in awesome shape when I reached this milestone in my life. I was training 1-2X/wk in private or semi-private instruction and I was doing a class mat workout 1-2X/wk as well. I was a huge fan. Not only did I look terrific, I felt amazing and had the flexibility of a child.
When I had a serious foot injury causing me to be in crutches and a walking cast for over 1 1/2 years, I never missed a week of pilates because it is an non-impact activity and the instructor had extensive training in post-rehab pilates.
Over the past six years I have rarely missed a week of pilates. It has become a way of life for me.
I find the Calgary Pilates Center to be a warm and welcoming space and I sing the praises of pilates to anyone who will listen.
