ALMOST PERFECT SERVICE February 13, 2012

Our refrigerator stopped working on a Wednesday. I had purchased all of my kitchen appliances from another major dealer 9 years ago and because of very poor repair service, I really didn't want to go back to them. However, I did check them out re pricing and delivery: it would take them a week to deliver a new fridge. With our food all in boxes being stored in our car--thank goodness it was about 1C--we couldn't wait. Someone recommended that we try Caplan's. I knew basically what we wanted--we have space limitations--and after speaking with Sam by phone, I put a deposit on a fridge that would be delivered within 2 days. And the price was the same. That was service! He followed up on several questions I had and even sent photos of the fridge interior so that I could be sure that it was the model we wanted. Once the fridge was delivered, I appreciated the follow-up email survey to check on our satisfaction. My only disappointment is that I used the survey to alert Caplan's that we seemed to be missing some freezer items (ice cube and storage trays, etc.) and we still haven't received any response. Maybe this review will prompt follow-up?

We purchased our appliances on Jan 2, 2012. Frank the salesperson was very helpful, and worked with us to get us what we needed (Fridge, stove and dishwasher, balancing products to get us within budget.

As we were trying to cope with having to alter a granite counter top to ensure the range fit, Frank talked us through sizing and was always willing to work with us if we could not make the size work. His post sales service was excellent.

Delivery was within the schedule they provided in the morning and the delivery people were very attentive.

I would definetly use them again and have already referred people to Caplan's.

We visited the majority of the appliance retailers throughout the GTA and found Nancy to be the most honest and informative Sales Representative we encountered. She sells with passion and she was as excited about our purchases as we were. We decided on a beautiful Viking stove and Jenn-Air dishwasher and fridge. In the future we will visit Caplan's first and save our valued time. Thank you!

Absolutely the best place in the GTA to shop for all major household appliances. Their experienced sales personnel are extremely helpful and assist you in your decisions by knowing their products. In five different purchases, I have never experienced any sales pressure; just reasoned assistance. Keep up the great job Caplan's for another 60 years!

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE January 28, 2012

I bought a three thousand dollar professional gas range from Caplan's in December 2011.
January 1st 2012 two of the main burners stopped working and won't light.
When I went back to Caplan's, their customer service representative first rudely told me I did not buy it at their store because she couldn't find me in the system.
When I produced the receipt, she glanced at it and told me they won't take it back, that they don't do returns on faulty kitchen appliances.

It is unacceptable that a professional gas range purchased a moth ago has two burners that don't work/are faulty and Caplan's thinks that it's not their problem. If they sell lemons they should exchange them for a model that actually works.

Very impressed with the service from start to finish. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgable, delivery was quick and easy, item we wanted was in stock. Exceptionally good service! We will be sure to come back again, and will refer friends, associates and family.

- Always get answer machine.
- They do not take ownership of issues created by them.
- They talk to you like you are stupid.
- Anything to blame someone else except them. Slippy shoulder syndrome.

We took delivery of a dishwasher. The delivery guys removed the feet, by accident obviously and took them with them. Support person - its the manufacturer's fault...how?

The buttons don't work on the dishwasher. Support person - flick the fuze to the kitchen electric sockets. Really? Not sure I want a device that can blow my fuze just from normal use !! Or maybe you just don't have a clue....?

Will NEVER go use them again.

I would like to congratulate Caplans for great customer support before and after purchase. We had a few issues after purchase which was nothing to do with Caplans but the product itself. I would like to thank Steve Voytek, General Manager of Caplans, Liz Hunter and our wonderful sales associate Joseph Giorgio for their follow up services to make sure that my products were 100%. I will only ever buy products from Caplans because they back their products and follow up with excellent customer service.

We have bought many appliances from Caplans for our rental properties and our own home, so when we needed a new stove we went back to look at what was available, knowing that the selection is always great. Unfortunately we didn't know what we really wanted so Mike showed us various options. After purchasing the stove and paying the full amount we did some research and decided that we wanted something else. After phoning Mike and explaining the sitation he quickly found what we wanted. He was very curteous and went out of his way to find the stove we wanted and also saved us a pile of money. Thanks a lot Mike! We are certainly coming back when we renovate our kitchen to get more appliances. Delivery people were also quick, friendly and on time. Thanks again. Ann and Angelo.

Came in on first day of boxing week sale. The young ladies at he front handled customers efficiently and offered coffee and snacks while we waited. Although we couldn't wait to see a sales man, we still got out general questions answered and were treated with such good customer service! We will be coming back to purchase!

Our Caplan's experience was fantastic. We investigated Caplan's after visiting another high-end appliance retailer and got a bad vibe. Friends suggested we give Caplan's a try and we're glad we did. They matched and beat any price we put in front of them. They helped us understand the ins and outs of shipping, storage, and delivery. All drawings and specifications were sent quickly and all correspondance was done with our renovators by email. When we discovered an issue with the plan for our microwave installation they stepped in quickly to help troubleshoot and solved the problem. In fact, when our renovators mentioned they couldn't sign-off on the SubZero and Wolf installation, Caplan's helped us locate an authorized installer who immediately did the job. I give Paul and Nancy at Caplan's an enthusiastic recommendation.

We purchased Bosch Kitchen appliances and a Whirlpool Laundry pair. The appliances are very good. The price on the Bosch was very good and Pierre our salesman was helpful. My complaint is that the Whirlpool set came with a $100 promo gift card as an incentive. We thought great we'll have a little bonus cash to spend right around the holidays as we asked when we would get it and were told with delivery. So the delivery came and I asked about the card - the answer was it's back ordered. So I called and left a message right after delivery on a Sat - no answer or return call. Called a few weeks later spoke to a live person who gave me a name to contact. Left her a message - never called back. I've called again and to see if they care about providing what they promise.

We purchased all our kitchen appliances at Caplan's including the stove hood and extension. We told the salesman we had a loft with very high ceilings so he suggested a hood extension. After waiting months for delivery, the hood extension didn't fit. When we went to return or exchange it we were told they would not take it back or even credit us. AFter spending over $10,000 at this store and having delivery issues and back orders, we were given NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are only interested in sales and once that's done, you're on your own. Just try to take something back. It doesn't work!

We had a great experience selecting the fridge and dishwasher with a very knowledgeable sales person. After the sale, when the fridge proved too large to come up the stairs, he immediately helped by advising us on a similar slightly smaller fridge. It was a no-hassle switch.

The delivery folks were both patient and accommodating during a very challenging delivery. Bravo!

I would not hesitate to recommend Caplan's to anyone.

We purchased an oven and a cooktop . Tha prices were better than the competition . It was our salesman Leonard Pleasant who made this an outstanding experience. From the first encounter he was articulate and explained all the details of every level of the different models without any pressure to purchase. After we purchased he kept us informed of delivery times and even expedited an early delivery of a backordered item!. He took the time one week after our install to call and inform us of a manufacturers warranty extension which we had become eligible for. Bravo Caplan's!!!

NEW WASHER October 29, 2011

Recently our old (just 10 years) Fridgidaire washer needed to be replaced and we went back to Caplan for a new one. The sales rep was very helpful in helping us select a new washer, arrange delivery and hookup and the removal of the old washer. The delivery was delayed 1 day as Whirlpool had not delivered our washer (Maytag) to Caplan's but delivery was made next day at start of delivery window. All went well after realizing the machines could not go through the side door but the crew was great, adjusted the plan and all is well. Happy with the service we received, but just hope this machine gives us more than 10 years of service.
