Tried Caplan's on the strength of a newspaper ad even tho we had not been impressed the last time we were in there about 20 years ago. First surprise - showroom was bright and cheerful as were the staff. Second surprise - the prices were quite competitive. Third surprise - they delivered exactly when they said they would. Joseph Giorgio was very helpful.
Only glitch - Samsung sent the wrong handles: NOT Caplan's fault!

This is in response to your enquiry regarding service. I was very pleased with the service in the store and also by the delivery men. They were polite and helpful. The service gets five stars. The frig is less satisfactory, as explained below.
The door on the frig is very hard to open. I have to pull on the handle with all my might. The muscles in my back are getting sore from the effort. Bottles stored on the door make a tremendous clatter. (I have started storing them in the main frig.) Can this problem be rectified?

We had a great experience at Caplan's thanks to our great sales rep Pierre Jamil. He was efficient and helpful without putting pressure on us which was all the more incentive to buy from Caplan's. When we ran into some unexpected issues during our renovation that affected our appliance selections, Pierre crefully worked through things with us to resolve the issue. Plus, he's affable and easy to get along with! Also, Caplan's always had lots of staff, even manufacturers reps sometimes, good deals and sometimes cookies too!
Over the past year, we have bought a dishwasher, fridge, washer and dryer from Caplan's and we couldn't be happier with the experience.
Originally, we came in because our dishwasher broke down and we were desperate to replace it (our son was less than a year at the time and went through bottles, bowls, etc. at an incredible rate). Though we originally felt foolish for sharing our level of desperation with Jeff, he found the dishwasher that not only met our needs, but also fit UNDER our budget!
When we needed to replace the fridge shortly thereafter, there was no question of where we were going to go. He made a point of asking several questions to make sure we had the best style for our home and, though there were several pricier options, he recommended one that was the best choice for us. The story reads very much the same for our new washer and dryer.
The products are high quality and efficient (Jeff even helped us with the various energy rebate forms), the delivery service was unbelievable (the guys even cleaned the floor under our old dryer before putting in the new stuff) and we couldn't be happier with shopping at Caplan's.
Without question, we recommend Jeff Hoogendam and the staff at Caplan's (we wouldn't bother with writing a review if we weren't blown away).
Very helpful sales person, Joe Steduto. Delivery as promised by polite, efficient people. Liked Caplans policy of calling before & after delivery & follow-up letter. This kind of service brings customers back. Refreshing contrast to last appliance dealer I dealt with.
The only good thing I can say about Caplan's is that, Leonard Pleasant and the delivery team were excellent. Aside from that, is the service exceptional, no it is not. I purchased a fridge, stove, dishwasher, range and microwave. The gas stove was discovered to be broken and I have yet to get either Caplan's or the repair team of Home Appliances to fix, a brand new stove. The customer service manager, Liz Hunter has been condescending and not helpful. I must repeatedly call to get updates on parts and arrange repair of a new gas stove. I wait from 0800- 1700 hrs to have a repair done, with no show and no courtesy call to cancell a repair. This is very disappointing and I feel that the combination of Liz and Home Appliance reflects poorly on Caplan's glowing reviews. As well, one may ask themselves why a brand new stove needs immediate repair? I am dissatisfied with the lack of service and inability to have a resolution to this situation. A side note, why does Caplan's not donate more than $1 to charity? I spent one tenth the amount of money at Drainworks and I was given a $25 donation to a charity in my name! Maybe Caplan's needs to revisit this and change the donation amount, considering that clients tend to spend considerable amounts of money on these appliances. Food for thought.
The whole process of buying a refrigerator from Caplan's was effortless. From the expanded parking on Weston Road to the on time delivery the experience was without issue. A special thanks to Debbie Allan who managed the whole process.
At Caplans we recently purchased a fridge, dishwasher and European oven. The sales guy Vince was extremely helpful and his advice was excellent. Without asking we got a better price because we were buying 3 appliances.

We ordered a washer and dryer. Dryer was back-ordered so washer was delivered first. Caplans kept us informed on the back ordered dryer and it was delivered soon after on the date they gave us. Both deliveries arrived within the delivery window they gave us - no waiting around nor having to call back.
Great follow up calls to keep us informed and great customer service.
I had purchased close to $10,000 worth of appliances from a different supplier but was later told that I wouldn't get my washer/dryer in time for my install. I called around and ended up speaking with Leonard at Caplans. I told him the model #'s for washer/dryer set and he called back shortly with a decent quote and an assurance that they were in stock and ready to be shipped. Five days later they arrived exactly on time and the installers smoothly put the units into place, stacked and hooked them up. All done and I never had to visit the store too. Thanks!
Mr. Tran was very helpful with his advice in choosing the right product, a knowledgeable professional indeed. Due to problems with out property management we could not go ahead with the purchase, unfortunatelly. All was refunded imediately. We will come back to Caplan's !!!
