I bought my wedding gown from Cedar Closet in the summer of 2008. They were the best. They treated me as a person, and offered great advice, it was a relief to go somewhere that respected my budget and my dignity at the same time.
My mother called my dress "the Jackie-O" gown, and she was so proud to see me, her princess, dressed so elegantly.
And I have the Cedar Closet to thank.
I would recommend them highly to everyone.

We went to this bridal store after the bridal show in Ottawa in April 2011. Upon walking in the store the owner said to my daughter "Welcome to Hell". I(her Mother) and the bridesmaids were with my daughter and excited to try on dresses. The owner and the lady working with her were "yawning" and not helpful at all. I helped my daughter do up the buttons of the wedding dress as they did not stay with us.My daughter had tried on a wedding dress in our hometown and she did tell them this but had not purchased it and wanted to keep looking. She tried on the same one and the same size as the one in our hometown but because I did the buttons up which are tricky it did not fit as well and the saleslady said "suck it in". My daughter also asked if they had any cathedral veils and they said no and did not offer to say they could order one. I asked if they could order them and then they said yes but did not offer any help.
We thought it was Ottawa that was rude for bridal shopping but after this we did give another bridal shop In Ottawa on another weekend a try and they were great.
I just wanted to tell other brides not to go here as we were very disappointed by the terrible service!!!

My mom and I visited the Cedar Closet while shopping for a wedding dress for a garden wedding taking place next summer (2011). It was a great shopping experience. The store is the right size with great selection and nice layout/design. The customer service was perfect-friendly, honest, no expectations, and no pressure to purchase. I would definitely recommend this store to others.

I bought my wedding dress here in Dec 08 for my April2009 wedding. I walked in after a bad experience at a fitting down the street and asked gingerly whether they had any dresses under 1000$. Danah said with a big smile, "all of our dresses are under 1000$." She gallantly led me to a fitting room, made suggestions, let me walk around the store and try on as many as I liked with shoes and accessories. Didn't pressure me or my friends to buy my mother of the bride dress or bridesmaids dresses, was sympathetic to family stress, offered me and my friends refreshments, made me feel comfortable in my own body and treated me like a princess. And I got my dress for 650$ with taxes! That's a mermaid dress with hand-sewn beads and satin and taffeta and ruching for 650$. Delivered on TIME, no hassles. Also, their seamstress who altered my final dress for me did a fantastic job for only 100$. In an industry where you are constantly told what you have to do and have to have and pay a lot for it all, dealing with these ladies was a breath of fresh air.

I would like to tell everyone in the ottawa and surrounding area that this is the place to go for wedding type dresses and bridal party dresses. Glennis was the most helpful and gave ideas, she worked within our budget and spoke to us not down to us. She was very helpful when we suggested what we liked and she picked out a few gowns and yes we bought one of her choices. She gave us all her attention and let us know that there was also a sale on and had we seen the ad in the paper.We had been to 3 other shops and we were unimpressed with the other shops customer service, one shop handed us a book and said this is what we have and they start at a certain price this was the interaction we had with one shop, so when Glennis welcomed us to her store we were so very impressed Thanks ladies you were fabulous

I bought my wedding gown and two bridesmaid dresses from this store and would not think of going anywhere else. I have always been treated respectfully and have been given one on one attention. I have never felt pressured or rushed. Their prices are great and I have and will continue to recommend that friends shop here for their own weddings!

I found my experience at Cedar Closet to be absolutely fanastic. The owner "Glennis" was very helpful. I was treated very respectfully and she also gave me some valuable tips on my special day down south. She was very patient and allowed me to try on the dress 2/3 times. I was extremely pleased with my experience.

Visiting a bridal salon should be a pleasant experience but at Cedar Closet Boutique, you will experience something totally opposite! The receptionist is nice but the owner is this arrogant "devil" woman. As soon as I stepped in, she screamed "Shoes off!!" There was no friendly welcome and I immidiately felt like I might have made a big mistake. I was looking for a bridesmaid dress from a certain line but being my first time I didn't know how to go about it. They didn't explain anything and kept a very arrogant attitude and treated me like a child. Still I needed a dress so I asked if I could try one on. I wanted to take pictures to send it to my friend (the bride) in a different city but she said "No! You cannot take pictures. Not untill you pay for the dress and the dress is here." Then how can I disscuss this with my friend?? Walmart is better than this! At that point, I could see all the want for me is to sign the order form and pay the deposit. As I walked outside the dressing room, they said it looked beautiful but in a very obvious way that it's not from their heart(the dress didn't really look good on me). They didn't offer me any other options and simply proceeded to filling out the order form. I felt very rushed by the whole procedure and even though I needed to order the dress right away because of the wedding date, it didn't feel right. I asked the receptionist if I could think it over as it was my very first store to visit and that I wanted to seek other options. The owner then interrupted and, believe it or not, STARTED ACCUSING ME!! After she found out that I was not putting down the deposit that day, she said: "Then why did you say you would order today? I sized you because you said you would order. I would not have sized you if you are not buying from us!!I am going back to my office!!" Even the receptionist looked stunned at this. I was speechless and almost felt like crying. "Sized" me? All she did was handed me one dress! She didn't even take the measure out! Ladies, please do not even think about this store as your option. I cannot believe the owner of a bridal salon can be this mean and arrogant. She makes you think she is doing you a favour and I can easily say this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life!!!

  Yeah, Jennifer. They were horrible...! And I have one more update on this.
  I called them next day, as I told them I would, to tell them that I would not proceed with the order. Guess what they said to me; "WE ALREADY DID. WE FIGURED YOU WOULD."
  .............!!!!!
  I mean not that it was going to happen, what if I wanted to proceed??? They cancelled the order without my concent. That's how mean they are. I cannot believe they run a "bridal boutique" which should be a happy place for girls, right?

  sorry to hear about your poor visit. I can't judge since I wasn't there, but I have nothing but good things to say about this store. They were helpful, not pushy.
  Let's face it, even GAP will not let you take pictures in their store, it only makes sense. You take photos then get your best friend's sister to make it for you. (I know people who have done this) Or whatever, this is not unreasonable on their part. That being said I agree we NEED photos, I brought my camera and had my sister take photos, I just wasn't naive enough to tell them I was doing it! (no flash works fine, not as good but good enough if your intentions are truly just to show someone and not to have it duplicated).
  Also as with all comments here realize that one single review should not be enough to make up your mind. There is only 1 bad review about this store, everyone else raves. So make up your own mind. I went in there intending to only look, I stayed for hours and enjoyed the experience and ended up buying my dress!
  I'm not calling you a liar, maybe the owner was having a bad day, but I saw only a good natured person who was very helpful even though I was only looking at the sale rack and occupied her change room for many hours on a busy Saturday!
