Color Your World has over 80 years of experience in the paint and wallpaper industry. Starting in 1912 as a small family-run business, the original store was located on College Street in the heart of Toronto. Until 1967 the company, under the name Tonecraft Paints Limited, was a major supplier to thousands of painting contractors across Canada.

Identifying potential opportunities to service the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) home decorating market, the owners developed a completely new merchandising concept. Under the name Color Your World, the company repositioned itself for selling decorating products directly to the DIY customer. This decision brought about today's family of retail stores, each capable of successfully servicing both the retail and wholesale decorating markets.
