GREAT EXPERIENCE September 19, 2011

I am not from Edmonton but I spent a weekend shopping with 3 other girls for bridesmaid dresses. We had a great experience at ethos. We liked the selection but above all the sales ladies were great.

POOR SERVICE July 13, 2011

The bridemaid's dress was out of stock/discontinued and the store refused to provide a refund even though it was purchased with cash and West Edmonton Mall Gift Card. The purchaser pays a fee for West Edmonton Mall Mastercard gift cards, they start reducing the amount on the card if not used for 6 months, and the Ethos Bridal WEM store will not give a refund-- they say because it was a WEM Mastercard the refund has to come from head office.

I am not impressed with the service of ETHOS bridal or WEM guest services.

I just wanted to let all those brides out there know that Ethos, is the place to shop!!!
Please don’t let the size of the store in West Edmonton Mall fool you. This store has lots of offer, with high quality dresses and lots of selection.
Ethos was the first store I walked into at West Edmonton Mall and my sales lady who I loved, was quick and eager to help. I showed her what I was interested in (never go in blind) and she found the dresses I was looking for right away and more similar styles as well, which was nice. They know their dresses and have honest opinions. They were friendly and worked with my budget. Even my daughter found her dress first try!
Second dress I tried on I fell in love. It was a style from their personal collection instead of the Alfred Angelo ones I was looking at and it was a perfect combination of the two dresses I was looking into.
It was made for me. They didn’t push accessories, but waited till I asked and even helped my mom find her dress.
I walked out of there with no regrets, absolutely no stress and even a couple goodies.

Give Ethos a try! I promise you wont be disappointed!

I just wanted to let you know what a WONDERFUL experience I have had at your Calgary store.
Just to give you a little background on my story....I originally picked out my dress in Oct 2009 with my Mom (Kathy helped us). Kathy made this experience absolutely wonderful and I felt we found the perfect dress with her help. 1 week after I bought my dress I found out I was pregnant. The dress I bought would not work as I would be almost 7 months pregnant(little bit of a belly!). I called Ethos and told them the situation, Kathy said she would definitely work with us in finding another dress that would work with my growing belly! I had to go back to the store by myself as my Mother doesnt live in town. (I was sad that I had to give up my dream dress but also happy that I was pregnant). Kathy wasnt in that day but Val was there and made the day special for me even though my Mom wasnt there. Val was like a pretend Mom and made sure she gave me her honest opinion. Val also found the perfect dress for my growing belly and made me feel pretty in it!
Thanks again

AMAZING DRESS SHOP! October 24, 2009

I have been in a couple times now in order to choose my wedding gown and each time they have been extremely helpful. Yesterday I was in looking at bridesmaid dresses and I got all the help I needed in order to same me time when I bring the girls down to get fitted for dresses and pick the winning dresses for them. They are patient and all the questions I had, that they did not know, they were quick to take my name and number and provide me with the information after some research.

Out of all the bridal stores I have been to, Ethos has been the most helpful by far!!

I had a wonderful time. They were very helpful. The first store I went to wouldn't even talk to me, so I went down a couple of stores and there they were. I went in, she gave me what I was looking for, great advice, and I left with a dress on order:)

We had a good experience shopping for my daughter's grad dress. The young sales lady was very sweet and helpful and we were very pleased with the dress purchased.

Thank you.

We had an awful experience at this bridal shop.

When we first got to the store we were confronted by a very pushy sales lady. I described what we were looking for and stressed that the Bride (my sister) didn't want to try anything but halter tops. The sales lady then proceeded to bring me a dress with spaghetti straps and when I reminded her that we only wanted halter tops she went on to try and convince me that spaghetti straps and halter tops are the same thing. Obviously she knew the difference since she has been working at this store for over a year.

Next we told her we had called about a certain dress that they said they had in stock and she said they no longer had the dress available. I went to the front to talk to someone else about the dress and, surprise, they did have the dress, it just so happened that our sales lady could not find it so she told a little white lie. I finally found the dress and once I had it the sales lady quickly snatched it up and took all credit for finding the dress. She made sure to tell all her coworkers and my sister that she had looked high and low and managed to find the dress herself. I really didn't care who found it, all I really cared about was that my sister got to try on the dress she wanted; however, I still thought it rude of the sales lady to take the credit.

This sales lady also thought my sister must not mind who's in her dressing room and saw her undressed because she came right into the dressing room without knocking. This could have been very awkward if my sister was in between dresses. Luckily she had a dress on but a knock still would have been appreciated.

By this point we were getting a little upset with her and I think she could tell so she must have assigned another sales lady to us. The next one was even worse!

We had another girl with us who had recently gotten married but wanted to try a dress on anyways. When the second sales lady caught her trying on the dress she demanded that she take it off and told her she wasn't allowed to try on any more. I thought this was extremely rude as:

1. She only tried on one dress so I don't see how we were inconveniencing the store that much.
2. She should have been trying to make the experience enjoyable, not adding to the stress of dress shopping.
3. What she didn't know was that the girl trying the dress on had recently gotten married but it was an informal ceremony so her and her husband are considering having a formal dinner and she would need a dress for that.
4. They are a dress shop so if people want to try dresses on for fun that's their own prerogative. I see how it could be frustrating to have girls come into your shop and try dresses on just for fun but that's part of the job.

Any person that walks through their doors could be a potential client and should be treated as such.

By this point we were fed up with the store and ready to leave. Because of the bad experience we had we wanted to speak with a manager. When my sister asked to talk to one the second sales lady tried to give her a form to fill out about the dress she tried on. My sister noticed that this form was not a customer complaint form and had nothing on it about a manager's contact information so she asked again for the manager's number. This time she got it but not very politely. She also asked the sales lady for her name so she knew who to complain about and the lady snapped it at her along with her dirtiest look.

On a final note I would like to say I got married about 6 months ago and had gone shopping at this store as well. My experience back then was not much better. I had forgotten which store it was that I had problems with but once we were back I quickly remembered.

I would recommend skipping this bridal shop if you want to enjoy your time spent dress shopping!
