The manager of Garbers "Angelaward" is on here & other sites defending all the bad reviews or clicking No below each bad review, or writing fake good reviews to improve her low rating. Where she should be reading the reviews & asking how to improve the situation so it doesn't happen again. I used to work for a company where the techs started a union & yet the owner never asked why (why the guys wanted to start a union) he just defended his bad behaviour. And this Angela is doing the same thing. Angela spends her time defending & justifying her or her staff's bad behavior instead of learning from each bad review or better yet, dealing with each of the frustrated brides below to avoid such bad reviews in the first place! Angela if these bad reviews offend you, which they clearly do, then take some customer service courses or perhaps you should be a mystery shopper at the bridal store down the street from Garbers old location & then you will understand why Garbers keeps getting such bad reviews!

Update:
We are now married, just bought a house, but need some furniture to fill it up. I logged onto this site to check out some furniture store reviews and there is a furniture store in London, "T" that will give you the contact info for thier head office to solve the problem of each bad review. Angelaward you should learn from this furniture store and solve the problems of each of the frustrated brides below instead of writing fake good reviews to improve your low rating.

Angelaward, clearly these bad reviews offend you. But THE EASIEST WAY TO IMPROVE YOUR LOW RATING IS NOT TO HAVE BAD REVIEWS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Each time a bride leaves upset, which as indicated below is alot, you get a bad review in their mind. They may post a writen review on this site or another site, but Garber's reputation of terrible customer service is known throughout the bridal community. And the only person you can blame, is yourself.

    New Location, New Management, New Staff

    As of January 2011 Garber's Bridal relocated to 250 Dundas St. in downtown London. "Angelward" if in fact she was the manager at the time is no longer here. We have worked extremely hard on training new qualified bridal consultants, renovating the store and getting new stock in.

    Our mission is to have excellent customer service, and have every customer leave the store feeling good about their purchase and experience with the feeling of being excited to return!


    I am the current Manager under this account which was created for the first time today, and no false reviews have been posted by myself since January 2011, therefor any positive feedback since then have been from valued customers, NOT "Angelward".

    Well let's hope so, as the other manger was beyond horrible, and she deserved to be fired. The two 5 star reviews below were written on the exact same day, both by non-memebers, both using n49 mobile and both given 5 stars, which seemed a little too coincidental (and seemed like an Angelaward thing to do).

    The other manager lied right to my face saying that a dress couldn't be made in the factory in a laceup back, but I called the manufacture (because Garber's wouldn't take the time to call themselves), anyways the manufactore told me yes, that dress could be made in the factory with a lace up back. When I said this, the manager said, oh, umm, well, it's really expensive. This is one of the many reasons why I hate Garber's. I hope you are a better manager, have knowledge of the bridal industry and strive to provide better customer service. Good luck.

Great selection, excellent customer service, beautiful store and phenominal prices!! I'd recommend Garber's Bridal to anyone lookin for their Bridal gown!

    This reivew is fake as it is writen by the manager to increase Garber's low ratings. I logged onto this site to check out some furniture store reviews. If someone writes a negative review about Teppermans, head office gives their contact info to find a way to solve the problem. Angelaward instead of writing fake good reviews to increase your low rating, why don't you copy Teppermans and try to solve the problems?

I am extremely impressed with the selection and level of customer service I received from Garbers Bridal!! The clerk that helped me was great!! She took her time selecting gowns all within the criteria that I had given her, like style, fabric, price etc.. I would 100% recommend Garbers Bridal to anyone who is looking for that extra special touch!! Love love loved my experience!

    This is a fake good review writen by the manager to increase her low ratings. Why don't you solve the problems of the frustrated brides below instead of writing fake good reviews. PS. The review below about you eating swiss chalet instead of serving your customer is sad and funny at the same time. It is sad for the bride (it wasn't me who wrote that review) but it is funny that still to this day, you refuse to spend your energy on the important things, like your customers.

Where do I even begin? I have had nothing but stress from this place and I can't wait for my experience with them to end! We ordered three bridesmaids dresses in September and when they finally arrive in April we find out that some idiot working at Garber's ordered two of the dresses in a size too small!! They had written down the correct measurements, but apparantly are too dumb to read the sizing chart correctly because they ordered wrong. All they would do is agree to pay to let them out, but even after letting them out they were too tight.
My veil apparantly took 8 months to come in, but nope, again some idiot had it sitting in the back room for three months but nobody ever bothered to check there when I kept calling asking about where it was. They had me wait for 45 minutes calling the manufacturer, etc, looking for my veil, and finally decided to look in the back. They need to get their crap together!
And most recently, which is going to lead to one hell of a phone call for them in the next few minutes, is one of my bridesmaids went in to get her dress shortened, she told them she wasnt sure what length so to NOT alter it until she returned. They agreed and put it back so it wouldn't get altered. Guess who just called me to tell me that her dress has been shortened, and is now 4 inches shorter than the others! Seriously Garbers?! I've never left a bad review of anything before but I have also never experienced such an abundance of idiotic decisions before. I will tell all of my friends to avoid this place at all costs!

I had read many negative comments on here but wanted to form my own opinion. Unfortunately, this was the store that had the dress that I wanted and ended up buying. The very first girl I dealt with was amazing but has gone off to law school -more sales associates like her would be great.

Every time I went to the store for a fitting or to pick the dress up there was a new charge - my dress went from $750 - 1600!!! BRUTAL!!! The girls were SO RUDE and obnoxious and it seemed like there was a new set of sales associates each time I went there - a little continuity would be nice.

All in all I would NEVER shop there again and I would not recommend the store to anyone. The move to their new location was not a good one - parking is horrendous. BAD BAD BAD!!

I hate that these negative people had to be part of my experience.

Buyer beware!!

I had a great experience selecting my wedding dress the sales lady was very nice and helpful and I left feeling very impressed with my purchase! The dress is gorgeous and very much in my budget at only $625 (before taxes and alterations).

BAD SERVICE December 19, 2010

I wont be returning to get my wedding dress as they have bad service and didnt help me at all to find me a dress. They just sat there eating swiss chalet when i went back to see my dress with some of bridesmaids of mine. Instead of eating help the customers and u wont get bad reviews!!

I recently had a disappointing experince with Garbers Bridal in London as well. I went to Garbers sometime in May or June to get a Mother of the Bride dress. The sales girl was very helpful in picking out dresses for me and making suggestions. A dress that both my daughter and I both liked was chosen and we were told that it could be ordered in the cobalt blue color. We were shown a color sample and agreed that it was the perfect color. At the time I was told that it would not be in until the end of Sept. The wedding date is Oct. 23rd.
On Sep 13th I called to inquire about the arrival date and was told it would be in by the end of the month. By Sept 28th , I still hadn't heard anything so I called again to check. The saleslady said she would have to call me back in about 10 minutes. After an hour I called her back only to find out that the dress wouldn't arrive until
thanksgiving Day October 11th. She also commented that it didn't have a rush order on it (which costs more)even though at the time of ordering they had figured that the dress would arrive in plenty of time.
I was elated when I received a call on the 5th of October to say that my dress had arrived. I took time of work to drive for an hour and a half only to find a that the dress was the wrong color. It was bright purple and not the cobalt blue that we had ordered. The saleslady tried to convince me that it was just the way that it looks under different lights. She then proceeded to tell me that this was the cobalt blue for the dress company instead of getting out the book and showing me the swatches again to prove herself she just lied to my face. Instead of offering to call the company to see if there ha been some kind of mistake she just said that she didn't know what to tell me. She did ask if there was any other dress that I might like instead but there wasn't much choice and nothing in the color and price that i had ordered. Since there was only just over 2 weeks before the wedding I had no choice but to take the dress since I had already put 50% down on it and didn't have enough time to get another one ordered.
I had already ordered the vest and tie for my husband to wear so now I have to see if that can be changed.
And the biggest disappointment is that when I went on the website for the dressmaker I see that the color Sugar Plum looks exactly like the color that my dress came in and their cobalt blue is nothing like it. So she even lied about that. I understand that you want to CYA (cover your ass) in these situations but a bit of honesty would go a long way. My daughter's wedding will still be beautiful even if her mother isn't in her chosen dress. I probably will not shop there again because of my disappointment in the service I received.

while visiting the store in which I have shopped for many years I noticed the quality of mother of the bride and all occasion dresses to be lacking to say the least. The bridal consultant in which we dealt with while only being their for a week was poor. Garber's was always my first choice for formal wear but now I will never shop their again due to their poor service and quality. While the bridal industry is large Garber's is off the mark and its to bad because I travelled well over an hour to get their.

    This review is in some ways correct the person in question did travel to see a particular dress. But do to the fact that all gowns may be purchased from our vast selection from stock, the dress that this particular girl had wanted to see had been sold the previous evening. At that time she was offered another sample to be brought in for her but refused. We offered her the best possible option.

I went to Garber's last week to try on wedding dresses, and I must admit I had a great experience! The sales associates there are truthful and honest about what style works best on you, and will pull as many dresses as you like to try on! They also have great styles and selections!

I was by myself, as all my family and bridesmaids are away (and I was dropping by to check out a bridesmaid dress, not planning on trying on a wedding dress at that time) to my surprise they made the experience comfortable and easy!

I went back the next day and bought the dress!! it was an easy choice, after the professional customer service I had received...

Good luck shopping for your wedding gown!

The service and knowledge from the staff was excellent i purchased my wedding gown and am looking forward to purchasing my bridesmaids dresses at Garbers I highly recommend them they are great

Garbers Bridal ruined my Wedding because I ordered my wedding dress plus my braidmaids dresses at this store in London we waited 6 to 7 months to get the bridesmaids dresses and when they did they were 5 sizes to big for my girls. Asked the lady to take them back and she refused and then she sent the dresses to my girls in shoe boxes another time I was in there with my sister in law trying on my wedding dress and the girls there walked all over my train could not beleive this was happening know she saids that she wants me to take my dress out of the store without having it cleaned or any alterations done with it I will never shop at this store again nor would I recommend it to anybody else horrible place.

    Hard to Believe...

    I read your review & was totally shocked, I can't believe that this is acually what happened. I was recommended to Garbers by two other people who had excellent experiences. I have dealt with Garbers for my wedding (March 2010), my sister's wedding (summer 2009) & recommended them to many friends & family. I have never heard of anything bad. Sometimes you are only treated with as much respect as you give.

    My sister went here to look for dresses and told me the salespeople made her feel fat and dumpy. Just because my sister is fat and dumpy, does not mean she should not be deluded into thinking she can look better just by wearing a fancy dress... for shame!

    I am a plus size bride and i purchased my wedding gown at Garbers. They have a great selection of wedding gowns for the larger size bride. They helped me and went above and beyond, they made me feel like a princess, I can hardly wait to wear my gown in June.

    I don't think you have any right to disrespect someone based on the review they've given. You aren't the one who has gone through the terrible experience, therefore you shouldn't assume that "Dox" had treated "them" a certain way to have received the service she did. Bad customer service does exist and reviews like these make businesses aware of the service their customers have received, good or bad.

NO HELP January 30, 2009

I went in there and they took forever to come over and greet me. then i told them what i wanted, and they threw a few dresses at me and made me go try them on myself while they sat around filing their nails. it was like they didn't realize i was going to potentially spend a lot of money in their store, on my gown, my mom's dress, and my bridesmaid dresses. what is wrong with these ppl?

Using Garbers was a complete disappointment for my wedding. Not only could they not figure out my name after being corrected 4 times, they continually goofed things up. They called to tell me bridesmaids dresses were in when they werent, they ordered the wrong sizes for 2 of the girls, and they weren't just a little off they were WAY off. Instead of ordering a new dress for them, which they REFUSED to do under any circumstance even though it was their fault, they tailored it and now those 2 dresses look different from the rest. The staff was rude, patronizing and completely unhelpful. They really do not understand customer service. To make your wedding day an easier one, avoid them at all costs.
