I had my wedding recently (2010) at Gramma's Banquet Hall & Catering. My husband and I were a little tight for money and the owner really worked with us. She gave us a very reasonable deal and when it came wedding to the day it all went smoothly.
If you are having an intimate wedding, Gramma's it is a great option for you.
The place was really nice and intimate but the owner is horrible when it comes to people skills. He doesn't listen to your wants and he constantly tells you that he's been in business since 1985. I had a party of 50 and I told him the day of that 6 more people MAY come and instead of him charing me after the event when there's an accurate count he said I have to pay him $300 for him to set up another table and when I asked if I'm paying per plate or per table set up he said "Let me know or else i'm not setting up a table" I told him they may not come and he said he didn't care. When we reviewed the hall we told him we wanted 7 tables and I did a seating plan according to 7 tables with 8 per table and when we arrived there were 6 tables and 2 of them held 9 which would mean 2 couples would have to split up. I wanted lavender napkins and had spoken to him the Sunday and they do the orders the Monday and on Tuesday when we asked him for the colour we wanted he said we had to pay extra cause he did the order already and it's our fault. When doing a contract with him make sure he doesn't do short hand but make sure he writes it out in full. For the desert table he wrote FP for fruit platter that we requested and he said it was for fruit punch. The servers were very nice but the owner kept changing things on us so make sure he writes down every single thing and good luck getting a word in to tell him what you want. I give it 2 stars. The owner rubbed me the wrong way and some of my guests as well.
