I bought my wedding dress here and I am so sad that I did. The dress was ordered to large and the material does not sit flat along the corseted top. When I asked if this could be fixed I was told off. Once I had the dress on I was abandoned by the store clerks. The manager is extremely bitter and rude and has no consideration for brides concerns. Brutal experience avoid this store at all costs!

BEWARE! October 21, 2011

My experience is complicated, but yet very disappointing and I would never recommend anyone purchase a dress from Jenny’s. I bought a dress two ago and the engagement fell through. Definitely not the stores fault, but they were not understanding. I had purchased the dress off the rack, in full, the week before the engagement was called off and when I asked if I could get a refund for the dress, since I had never taken it from the store and not had one alternation done to it, they refused. Ok fine, still a little irritating but I’ll give them that one.

Two years later I get engaged and look into getting the same dress altered, since it had never been altered and didn’t fit exactly right. I called to see if Jenny’s would do it, and offered to pay for the alterations, considering how much time had passed. The manager told me that the alterations were included in the price of the dress when I had purchased it, but that they only had time for new upcoming brides and that she would not look at my dress. This angered me because she basically told me I paid for a service that they didn’t provide! So once they have your money, they refuse to offer you any services. She said that because my first wedding was cancelled that she was not obligated to help me, even though I offered to pay for her services. I didn’t know that I had to give a wedding date when I purchased my dress, what if I wanted to have a two year engagement before my wedding, would she not do it???

The way the manager spoke to me was very disrespectful and disappointing. I spent a lot of money in her store and would have purchased my bridesmaid dresses there if she wasn’t such a witch. It’s almost like she has been in the business too long and should have retired years ago. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I come from a family of 4 girls. Over a span of 11 years, we have always gone to Jenny's Bridal for our wedding & grad dresses (with the exception of 1 sister who had my mom make her grad dress). We do look at other stores but always end up going back to Jenny's. We have never had a single problem with the staff. I am getting married next year and although I live closer to Regina, I will be traveling to Saskatoon just to shop at Jenny's Bridal.

We purchased a couture dress $2000, from Jenny's bridal for my daughter. The dress fit perfectly, although they needed to re-tack a ruffle that had come loose, and they suggested she have bra cups sewn in. They brought out the bra cups and pinned them in her dress. They also said they would bustle the dress. They advised us that we did not need any fittings, they would do the necessary work and we could pick up after august 4. IN mid august my daughter went to try the dress with her shoes. she noted the bustle and bra cups were not done. They said they would get it done. She booked a pick up appt for the day before her wedding. that day we came in and the bra cups were not done...the ruffle was not tacked properly, and the bustle was not done. I asked the staff to sew in the cups, they said they didnt have a seamstress, then they said they dont come in her size, then they said its our fault for not requesting the cups or booking a fitting! wow! THEN we noticed the dirt....the dress had black spots in various places, ink, candy stuck to it, coffee stains and the interior of the dress was so dirty it had to have been worn, beyond trying on! I told Jenny's I was going to pack up the dress and take it to another bridal shop and send them the bill, and they said NO! They refused to fix or clean the dress! Thank goodness for Brides and Belles who saved my daughters wedding day! They spent hours cleaning and repairing! I will NEVER shop Jenny's again!

I purchased a Bridesmaid dress from jenny's and when we were picking it out and paying we had no problems! When I picked up my dress it was way too small! I did not gain any weight or inches, but of course they said " your measurements changed". The original sales person that measured me had someone else take my measurements and apparently I had gained a whole 5 inches on my waist over 1 and a half months. They basically just blew me off saying it could be let out. Upon returning to tell them my concerns they blew me off again saying that I had signed the purchase order and that was what I agreed too. You just can't trust this store to give you adequate advise on sizes. i prdered what they told me to order and agreed based on their so called expertise. Well they have none! If you shop here, get your measurements done by a professional before going!

JENNY March 23, 2011

The dress was beautiful, perfect, so I give half a star. I spent so many hours in this boutique, trying the dress on, getting alterations, trying it on, getting more alterations and such as to be expected when getting your bridal gown. We discussed some issues to be taken care of, including some BENT boning on the side of the bodice that needed to be replaced and she wrote it down in a list of final alterations to be done along with loose strings on the bodice for the beading that needed to be snipped short so it didn't look like my dress just came from a factory and pinned the list to the bag for my dress. I picked up my dress the day of the wedding, confident that the alterations were taken care of, after reading the check list and giving the final payment. I put on my dress an hour and a half before the wedding and lo and behold there are all the loose little strings sticking out from the beading on the bodice, lo and behold there is the bent boning STILL, which looked atrocious and felt even worse!! There were other failings in the alterations work but I won't list it all here. I called her(Jenny) after the wedding and told her about the bent boning, she said it was my fault. I told her about the strings, she said she did them. I mentioned the price increase(much above what I was quoted and the price increase was not mentioned until I was giving the final payment and I asked about it!!) and she said that it's what it is. She was totally arguing with me and raising her voice at me. I told her that it was too bad I won't be saying anything good about Jenny's Bridal and she lost it on me, yelling "I can do whatever I want!"
Yes. That's just what I asked for when giving you my business for the most important dress of my life.
I learned that my sister's friend also received similar treatment from Jenny's after I had already shopped there.
Dear Jenny's employees, don't bother trying to cover your ass about this one, I have read other low reviews and they make complete sense to me now after how I was treated.

I went Wedding Dress shopping just last week with my mom and my one year old daughter. We went to Debra Dees first and had a terribly time. The woman there made us feel like it was a horrible inconvenience to have us trying on dresses there. She sighed that she had so much mess to clean up after the busy night they had, stuck us in a room and left us to try dresses on ourselves. Both my mother and I felt like saying to her that even if we found the perfect dress there we would never go back for it. We went to Jenny's.

This was my second time looking a dresses at Jenny's. Both times I had the best service. They welcomed me in, set me up, helped me in and out of dresses, and then recommended dresses for me based on what I liked. I had two different sales girls both times and both were exceptional. I never felt rushed, I felt appreciated. My daughter was not a burden to them, she really is very well behaved and was being looked after by my mom. I was made to feel beautiful and important. The selection is AMAZING, the best in the city. All around wonderful

SHAMON JENNY'S February 4, 2011

Last week something very disturbing was brought to my attention. The L.C.H.S. Class of 2011 will be celebrating their graduation in June. Traditionally with that comes the day that the graduating females go shopping for the perfect dress for the occasion. Alyssa Pomfret, who is a member of my Advisor family, is among those graduating this year. Alyssa travelled to Saskatoon with her mom, Corinne, and both of her grandmas, to purchase a grad dress. Alyssa’s mobility comes from the use of her wheelchair. Upon entering Jenny’s Bridal store in Saskatoon, Alyssa and her family were immediately asked/told to leave the store. The employee did not want any “mess” from the wheelchair on their floor. He also went on to say there wasn’t room to manoeuvre a wheelchair around the racks of dresses either.I will admit, that her wheelchair sometimes makes a bit of a wet mess on the Advisor carpet when she comes to label newspapers on Mondays. However - the nice thing about melted snow is, it dries! The group continued on, although upset from their encounter and unpleasant experience at Jenny’s Bridal. They went to Debra Dee’s and were welcomed into the store by a very helpful and courteous sales staff. Not only did they immediately bring a cloth to wipe off the wheels of the wheelchair, they helped Alyssa select the “perfect” dress.... I’ve been told it is purple, but you will have to wait until graduation day to see how lovely she looks for yourself.

As an employee of Jenny's I absolutely HAD to comment on this. She was NEVER asked to leave. Our staff explained to her that because it was so busy, she would have difficulty moving around and finding the right dress. You also fail to mention that he offered for her to come at 5:00, when we close, so that she could have a private appointment with Jenny herself, which has never been done in the time I have been there. There was NO discrimination in anything he said. Also, our policy, as with any other store, is to remove shoes and leave strollers at the door. Wheelchairs, we ask that they wipe down the wheels. I'm sure you wouldn't want your dress ruined by dirt and mud on the floor of a store.

    wow

were you actually there that day? or is this something that they have told you which is a complete lie? jw

  • By: SHAMEONYOU

why even waste your time writing something up like that when nothing in that paragraph is true, they didnt ask them to come back after 5 and they didnt offer to wipe down the wheels, he stood in the door and blocked them telling them they had to leave, and you didnt mention they were the only ones asked to leave that day.

    Shame on ADD123

Obviously ADD123 is an employee or owner of Jenny's, and is trying to cover their ass.

Thank you SHAMEONYOU, for making that comment. All of this did happen, and those that say otherwise, are trying to cover up the drastic mistake they made.

I wouldn't brag up Debra Dee's too much. This same thing happened to a bridesmaid in a wedding that I'm a part of TWICE!!! First time she was told to leave was when she was wedding dress shopping for her own wedding a couple years back, and the most recent was a few weeks ago for bridesmaid dresses. We never went to Jenny's but don't be fooled that they are the only store that would do that. It's sickening that they think they can do that though. Also, I'd like to point out, don't jump on the employee that commented if they weren't there..your original post was also written as a 3rd party who was not there either.

I came on to read the comments after I saw a blurp on facebook - but now I find myself wanting to make just a general comment to CT86 - why on earth would your friend ever consider going back to a store that kicked her out? If I got kicked out of a store they would NEVER see ME or my MONEY again. If I was getting kicked out of a store - I would definitely be asking to speak to the owner or manager as well- actually I would probably cause a huge stink. hopefully all is well and your friend got her bridesmaid dress

Back in high school I bought my grad dress from Jenny's. After I ordered it, it did come in a bit small, however I blame this on me gaining weight and not them ordering me the wrong size. Also, they were supposed to do the alterations there, but ended up having issues with seamstresses quitting, etc. however this was out of their control. I did have to take my dress to a local seamstress to get it taken out.

FYI - they only do alterations on bridal gowns now.

Go on a weekday, not a weekend to try on gowns especially in the morning because it is quiet. I went on a weekday and it was a lot less busy than the weekend.

They allow you 7 gowns at a time to try, which I found to be quite a lot. They have a huge selection and are always willing to help.

The second time I went in, it was a Friday and the day after Remembrance Day. It was nuts that afternoon, so I had to wait for a room, but once I got the room there was no rush, thought I had to wait to get done up and to get measured and to find appropriate height shoes to measure me with.

Since my dress has beading near the bottom of the skirt, and is multi-layered, hemming is not an option especially since I needed 4 inches off the bottom. NO questions asked, they did the hollow-to-hem measurements and the hollow to waist and waist to hem measurements so I will be getting a custom dress made to fit me, at no additional cost. Since the sample fit extremely well otherwise, they ordered me the same size but also included my measurements for the manufacturer.

They have the biggest selection of dresses in my opinion of all the bridal stores. :) Also, a lot of different styles instead of the same old same old that many of the others carried. Friendly, and you could take pictures no problem. Also, they had better lighting than some of the others, though it is definitely cramped in there especially when it is busy.

As for the bridesmaids who were ordered too small. It could be a problem with the manufacturer and not the store too.

I will update when my dress comes in, but so far I love them and I would come back.

Just bought my daughters wedding dress today She had looked at many many other dresses prior to going to Jennys... She found the one that makes her glow . Donna who works there was amazing she made my daughter feel like she was the only one there. Thankyou so much for putting that huge smile on my daughters face.

I thought Jenny's was great. I got there early and found my dress that I absolutely love in less than 2 hours. This was on a Saturday, definitely get there early as by the time I was done there was people waiting at the door. However, I went on a Monday for my fitting and it was totally empty so go on a weekday if you can. I looked at another store and the selection was pretty slim, but maybe I'm biased as I love Jenny's for having my perfect dress. Also, I bought off the rack, which you get 10% off I believe it was.

GREAT! January 6, 2010

I went to a few bridal shops in saskatoon and Jenny's was by FAR the best! They had a great selection, I was very specific in what I wanted for a dress so I after I found the dress I wanted Jenny worked with me to help me alter it so it was exactly the way I wanted it. I spent about 3 hours in there one day trying on dresses and the staff was so helpful!
I highly recommend Jenny's over any other bridal shop in saskatoon.

I did like the selection and sizing of dresses at Jenny's but I had the same problem as your sister!! I ordered a bridesmaid dress at Jenny's and when it came it was waaaay toooo small!! Unreal.. and when they measured me, they measured me over my lululemon hoody and jeans... hardly the size I would want the dress to be.. and it still came back small. I hope they read these reviews..

I do not recommend Jenny's Bridal in Saskatoon to anybody! I suggested my mom buy my sister's grad dress there, and I regret it. My mom paid over $700.00 for the dress and when she went to pick it up it was very wrinkled. My sister tried on the dress at home and after losing 15 lbs for grad the dress is way too small. The lady that helped us choose this dress had measured her, considering she lost weight, we were prepared for the dress to be too big not so small she can't get into it. The one in the store (which was a smaller size) was bigger then the dress that they had ordered 5 sizes larger! They said that they can't do anything about their mistake, they have a strict no-return policy. Now it's June 9th, 2 weeks before my sister's grad and she has nothing to wear. $700.00 later, and my sister is crushed!!! I feel so badly for suggesting this boutique!

AWESOME May 24, 2009

The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. I would definately recommend checking them out. They have a HUGE selection of dresses for ALL sizes and do not pick and choose who they want to help like one bridal store in particular in saskatoon where the service is HORRIBLE!!

The staff and selection at Jenny's are fantastic. However, every time I have gone in, it has gotten to the point of almost ridiculously busy, in which staff members are consistently busy. Don't be surprised to have to wait for a change room or wait for assistance. That being said, they have a larger amount of plus-size bridal gowns than any other store in Saskatoon, and their prices are comparable.
