First of all I love to shop and the shopping experience is very important to getting me back into a store over and over. I have to say out of all the places I have shopped at especially for coats, which i must say is a bit of an addiction for me. Kahner furs is the best, they have the best selection I have ever seen, like leather for sping and shearling for winter and even Loro Piana wool, and of course Fur, fur, fur. They even had muffs and trapper hats, and these little boa things i had to buy two.

Most of all the thing that will keep me going back is the amazing service, who would have thought there would be such a diffrence shopping in a store that is truly a family business, with all the family values. You could really tell why they have been in busness for over 50 years.

Next time I'm in the neighbourhood, I will be stopping in at Kahnert furs, just to say thank you for keeping me warm all winter long.

I had a beautiful shearing coat which I valued very much but it was two size too big for me. I went to Kahnert Furs to see if alteration was possible. One of the brothers assured me that it would be no problem and charged me almost $400 to clean and alter. It was more than I expected but as long as they can do an alteration to fit properly I was fine with it.

After I got a call saying it was ready, I went only to find out that the sleeves were not shortened. Then, the second time they called, I made the trip, I paid them but then noticed that they forgot to repair spot with the damaged fur. I was a bit annoyed at this point. They did offer to deliver it to my place the next day which I thought was nice.

The part that makes me most angy is the alteration itself. There are several seams on this coat and obiously it is big for me everywhere. Yet only the sides were reduced. Therfore the front still looked very loose on me and the position of the pockets were moved back further by virtue of the alteration itself.

I guess it was my mistake to pay the guy before I noticed this alteration mistake but I trusted them completely thinking they would know what to do since they were in business for more than 40 yrs.

When I called to question the reason for altering only the side seams, the guy was very defensive and gave me all kinds of excuses to shut me up.

The service was sloppy for sure but that didn't really bother me. What really makes me mad is that they are suppose to be professionals in their field and so I went out of my way to go to them; trusted them to do the job right. After the payment, they no longer cared about my dissatisfaction. I would never recommend or visit this store again.

Outstanding customer service and fine quality in not just winter wear but also in off season fashions.

Beautiful place to shop. Sizes for young men are limited though.
