For my birthday my children wanted to spoil me as I had just finished chemo for breast cancer and was starting radiation treatment. They ordered a large bouquet of flowers from King West Florist to be delivered to my condo. When the flowers came, many were starting to wilt and some of the oriental flowers had brown areas on their stems. Many of the flowers did not have water picks on them.
I called the shop and they immediately offered to replace the arrangment later that day or the next day. They told me they would call to let me know when they were coming so I could tell the conseigner at my condo.
I called back to buy a vase, and the manager offered to give me a vase for my trouble and to deliver the next day. She asked it I would leave the first arrangment at the desk so they could take it back and see the problems with it. I did this. The following morning at 8:15 am, I got a call from the front desk that the flowers were there. They had come at 10pm the night before to deliver the new flowers.
The second arrangement is lovely except that it is just 60 hours since I got it and already at least three of the main oriental flowers are wilting. I expect that I will need to throw them out tomorrow. Contrast this with the two other bouquets I got four days earlier that are still lovely and not wilting. Was it the sitting in the clear wrap that affected the flowers. I wonder with the 10pm delivery how long the arrangment was in the florist's van. I don't know. I do know that my children spent alot of money for a 72 hour bouquet. How sad!
