One-stop convenience means Loblaws customers can pick-up dinner at the Meals To Go counter, buy a bottle of wine, order digital prints from the Photolab, do their banking at a PC Financial pavillion, get that prescription filled at the DRUGStore Pharmacy, even enroll for cooking classes "Upstairs at Loblaws," all while checking-off their grocery list. President's Choice and No Name products, that shoppers have come to depend on for quality and price, are found on every Loblaws store shelf. It all keeps Loblaws customers coming back for more.

this evening I again was detained at customer service because their new system does not record the discount on 50 percent items. My cashier was singing Christmas carols as I approached the station so if she had been more alert she would have noticed before I did when I got my bill that the discount was not applied.
The manager was called as I wanted the items free to compensate for 2 occasions when this happened to me with this so called new system . He refused and I left all the groceries and asked for my money back.
I am a devoted shopper at Loblaws but will now be looking for alternatives.
The store in the later hours needs more supervision as many of the young workers seeem to be on their own to do as they please.

Good- its a big store with a large selection of items from no name to high end brands and interesting PC products
Good- cashiers and customer service are generally pleasant and helpful
Bad- they are often out of stock on particular items, so you can't always find things reliably
Bad- the Deli counter evening service- it makes you feel that you are really imposing on them if you ask for anything. The counter sign indicates that the Deli is open until 10pm. I usually get there between 9 and 9:30 and they are always cleaning already. One person will serve, but the other keeps cleaning even if there are 6 people waiting. And they make you feel really bad if you want them to slice something for you.
Bad- the fruit fly epidemic in the vegetable section

I find this Loblaws really organized. I cab there and back each week ($12 each way) just because i like the layout.

The fruit and veg are fresh, although not always fully stocked (but i would prefer to not have it available at all if its not fresh).

They have the newer smaller trolleys that help with moving through the store quicker.

I would also like to make note that the staff are very helpful - WITH THE EXCEPTION of the deli counter. The guy was more interested in chatting with his co-workers than getting things weighed and wrapped promptly. I actually had to hold out my hand to get my order handed over....

But to make up, a really lovely guy (i think the manager) - steered me towards shorter lines and was very happy polite overall in his demeanour - erased the annoyance of the deli counter from my mind.

Overall i highly recommend this location. It also has an LCBO at the entrance from the parking lot - i recommend purchasing there first to avoid having to bring your trolley in to lobo with you afterwards.

I shop at this store weekly for four people.
Bill is usually $170-$250.

My complaint is that the shelves usually are almost empty.
I bought the last two hot light chocolate as it may be weeks before I see it again.

You used to have loads of spring water, now it it is on one shelf and usually empty. I got the last two Nestles spring water.

Are you having delivery problem, or not enough staff to update shelves?

CLAIMS TO BE OPEN 24 HOURS, YET THEY ARE VIRTUALLY CLOSED FOR 30 MINUTES EACH DAY
Unfortunately the only time I can regularly get to the local grocery supermarket is Thursday nights at 11:30. There are about two dozen shoppers who are also there at that time. Trouble is that their cash machines are closed each night at 11:30 for 30 minutes. All 15 of them. Not even one is open to take customers. I have been there twice where there is a long long line at midnight because there is no cashier to serve customers. Everyone is fuming angry. DO NOT GO HERE.

I am addicted to Loblaws. However I will say that the St. Claire & Bathurst branch is by far the worst Loblaws I have ever been to. I made a $300.00 order . When I got home I realized the strawberries, the blueberries were moldy and the watermelon over ripe. I reutrned these items. I also purchased a pie which when I opened to serve to my guests and was also moldy. I wonder how many other things are moldy there. I found the store not to be clean, the service questionable and the time to get out of the store lengthy. I suggest Loblaws look into this store, It does not serve you well.

LNICOLLE December 31, 2011

I usually shop at this store but recently had a bad experience. I bought 4 lobster tails and they were very bad. The seafood clerk was so rude! They would not exchange them. Poor customer service. I was very disappointed and I have a feeling the store manager would be too.

Has anyone ever met or dealt with the new assistant store manager? His name is Adrian Griffin. He is the only black manager there. I had a few problems and he was awesome. He has excellent customer service skills and was beyond professional. A very well spoken gentleman. Next time you go to the store, ask for him and you will know what I mean. Because I received amazing service from him, I will always go back.

Unfortunately, this is the only supermarket within walking distance, so they have my business by virtue of "monopoly", but certainly not by choice.
I absolutely hate it. As others have mentioned, the carts are insanely huge and unwieldy. I am constantly hitting things because they stick out in front far beyond where you can see.
But that's not the biggest problem. The problem is the selection. It is AWFUL. They do not carry MANY of the brands of things I use, and have been using all my life. A list of items they do not carry, and which I am used to buying on a weekly basis:
Kraft Mayonnaise. Yes they have Kraft Miracle Whip, and they have their own brand Mayonnaise, but not Kraft Mayonnaise which is the ONLY one that I want.
Old Dutch corn chips. They have Tostitos and Doritos only... but Old Dutch has waaaaaaaay less fat and calories. SOL.
OB Tampons... well, let me clarify. They DO have a SPACE for ONE size of OB on the shelf, which is always EMPTY....but meanwhile, there is at least 20 feet of Kotex products which I do not want because of all the excess packaging. I refuse.
Chicken Wings. They have all the other parts...thighs, breasts, drumsticks....no wings. Never. Never seen them any time I've looked for them.
Small size feta cheese tubs. They have only the HUGE size tubs, for about $10, which is waaaaayyyy too much for me. I only want half that size...but again, SOL.
I could go on and on and on. Every time I go there with a list of things to buy, I come home with about half of them because this store sells its space to BIG companies, which then have the right to stock the whole place with their brand and no other brands. The customer is forced to buy the products of the biggest providers and no other options will be available. Don't believe me?? I work in a bookstore where we 'sell' space to publishers, and it means you will see those products only, and not a depth of selection.
Oh, and if you find any of these products that I want, give me a call, I'll be waiting. Forever.

Does anyone else remember the most AMAZING pesto sauces sold in the deli counter at Loblaws? It came in 4 varieties: basil, arugula, sundried tomato, roasted pepper and chive? They were addictive! It used to be sold in the deli counter and disappeared..does anybody know where else I can find them? Even my italian girlfriend loves them..why does all the good stuff disappear and we are left with crap? I used to go to Loblaws to buy the good stuff i couldnt find anywhere else, now, its like shopping at Walmart, with a nicer parking lot and a coffee bar

SHOPPING CARTS October 3, 2009

I have been shopping at Loblaws Bathurst & St.Clair for the
past 3/years and have been struggling with these large shopping
carts and as a Senior with Arthritist and most of the Seniors
living in that neighbourhood do have similar problems I am
wondering WHY........you folks refuse to bring in the 3/sizes
that are available at most of the giant supermarkets as a matter of fact the newly renovated Loblaws at Baview and Moore
have the 3/sizes. I have broken both of my wrists and if is
extremely difficult for me to manage those carts. PLEASE try
to bring in the 2/other sizes. It would be greatly appreciated by all of us.

Sincerely,

Jeannette O'Meally

    I Totally Agree!

I totally agree! There is no need for those great big carts! They are too heavy to push and not easy to get around the store. They should have smaller carts like the have at Metro. That's the main reason that I don't shop at Lawblaws.

I don't live close to a grocery store. There are 3 that are somewhat close to me but are not in walking distance. Most of the time I go to the Dominion at Yonge and Eglinton and sometimes I go to the No Frills at Eglinton and Dufferin. On Sunday I went to the Loblaws at Bathurst and St Clair... I'm in Love! This store is fantastic!! The fruits and vegetables are sooo fresh the selection of meats are better than I've ever seen! Mind you the dairy is a bit pricey but I'm willing to overlook it.

    real close to me

I live in one of the apartment buildings ride beside this place. I can walk in like 2 minutes. They offer cooking classes too that I've been thinking of checking out. It's a bit expensive but what isn't?

Wow! That's almost unheard of to find a grocery store with fantastic produce & meat & priced not too badly!
I miss Loblaw's. We used to have one here year's ago & I really miss not having one. We do have a Superstore, which is under the same company tho but it's just not the same!

I agree this is a great store and they have a lot of really great specialty items for people who are on special diets due to medical reasons like celiac disease etc. A+
