In 2009, Jay Eckert founded Parachute Design in Toronto, Canada, with a vision to create and develop websites, print materials and branding strategies that feature good design, and also focus on industry standards, usability and accessibility. But it didn't happen overnight.

In 2003, Jay started Jay Eckert Creative, a small, freelance-based business that provided him with opportunities to connect with many fellow media specialists. Six years later, Jay transformed his freelance business into a full-time endeavour making way for Parachute Design.
These early experiences provided Jay the opportunity to build a network that has grown to include a combination of expert programmers, designers and copywriters, located throughout Canada, and working in their own creative environments. Through this innovative work model, the company enjoys a low overhead, which allows Parachute to position itself ahead of its competitors, offer lower rates, and keep its clients’ needs first.

Our core belief is that our dedication to the environment should be prevalent in everything we do, from the paper that we recommend for our clients' print campaigns to online strategies that eliminate paper waste. For us, environmental responsibility isn't just talk, it’s an opportunity to act.
