Quite simply an awful restaurant that is posing as an authentic Italian venue. Anyone who says otherwise needs to get out of town and go to a real Italian restaurant where they have to actually compete with other fine dining establishments (e.g., Montreal, etc.). Looking for good Italian cuisine? Run far, far away! This establishment has fallen victim to the oldest cliche in the industry - small town complacency and general laziness. Despite a somewhat inviting dining room, the food is terrible. We had the calamari appetizer which was overidden with salt and clearly taken from a freezer; likewise for the classic lasagna (only thing one could taste was oregano) and house spaghetti (bad all the way around) - really folks, if a place can't prepare the simplest dishes well, what are they even in business for? Sauces are bland and not made in-house, pasta is prepared (cooked, as it is store bought as well) in the MORNING then flash boiled when ordered later in the day, including evening service! When we asked our server for pasta to be cooked el dente, she outright refused saying it was not possible given it was precooked! Shameful. The bread bar is an absolute joke - basically you get up and toast your own bread, there were only two types to choose from - pathetic. Seriously, businesses in Atlantic Canada need to pull their heads out of their a**es and wake up - it is a global marketplace now and customers are far more sophisticated and discerning than they think. This type of horrible product and even worse customer service is unacceptable and far too widespread. We shall never return. You might as well buy yourself some Olivieri pasta and sauce, a nice bottle of Chianti, cook it yourself at home and save yourself a bundle.
