Since this location recently moved across the street, into a bigger location... I can't get enough of them. They're store is BEAUTIFUL and always neatly stocked. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. It doesn't matter who's working, they alway greet you as you enter the store. Any time I want to try something new, or have any questions, I can always count of them. And the staff will go out of their way, to get answers and information for me. The owner also does a lot events, giveaways and loves to get to know her customers.

Since moving into their new location, then no have in store training... Which my puppy Moose will love. And I've been told they'll soon have in-store grooming, once they get settled.

I highly recommend, if you have a pet, you visit this store. I'll never go anywhere else!!

I first started going to Pet Valu when I first adopted my dog Billie Jean 4 years ago. Although not as big as some of the big box pet stores, pet valu has a more than ample selection of food, toys, and everything else that you'll need for most house pets, especially cats and dogs. The smaller store size in this case means a lot more service for the customer, which is great when you're looking for something specific, or anything at all.

What stands out most about Pet Valu over any other pet store I've been to (and there are many of them!) is the great advice that is given by the staff and owners of the store, and the personal relationships that you earn with these people. Especially for those people who are new pet owners who are often overwhelmed with all the choices available, as well as the desire to provide the best care for their pets, the staff at Pet Valu are there to help you through the process.

Not only do the staff at this particular Pet Valu location (Yonge St. and Elgin mills) remember who I am everytime I come in, but they also remember my dog by name, as well as my usual selections for food etc. In my opinion, it is an excellent idea to find a pet store that you like for your pet, and stick with that store, because this will help you to be consistent with your purchases for your pet. Pet Valu definitely comes highly recommended by me and Billie!

  So nice to hear! I do like our Pet Valu as it's just up the street a bit. Our staff is everything you've talked about. However, ours is very small & I find the toy selection (just @ ours :) a little skimpy.
  As well, we have 2 pet rats, a hamster & tropical fish on top of our 3 dogs so it's difficult to get everything I need all the time.
  However, I still shop there frequently becuz of the service, friendliness & it's proximity.
  Btw, Billie Jean is just toooooooooo adorable for words! Hope Santa Paws is good to her!
