Today I passed by the Doggy Day Care inside the Petcetera store in Garden City. There were two dogs in there, all by themselves: a brown Lab cross who looked unwell and a Boston terrier lying on a blanket. There was no interaction with humans because there were no humans inside. There was poop on the floor, obviously by the Boston terrier. When we informed the store clerk (associate?) he became upset, shook his head. We asked if those are all the dogs in daycare and he said: Yes, and they come every day. And why were they all by themselves? because he does not have the manpower to have someone look after them.
I felt so sorry for those dogs. My dog is in a wonderful daycare once a week and it is her highlight of the week.
The owners of those two dogs might have left them at home, they don't get anything out of that place.
It should not be allowed to call a sad place like this a "Doggy Day Care".

I agree, I see this every time I walk into that store. Their doggy daycare smells terrible. Even with the glass doors shut. I would not recommend leaving your dog or pet there for any length of time. The Winnipeg Humane Society has repeatedly removed animals from this particular store due to neglect.
