I absolutely love Port restaurant in Pickering!!
This lovely gem is located on picturesque Frenchman's Bay on the shores of Pickering.
There is no other comparable restaurant in the GTA, with respect to the decor, atmosphere, food and particularly its location right on the water.
The restaurant is divided into three sections - a formal dining room; a lounge; and an outdoor patio.
The patio is so beautiful in the summer. I can just sit and relax for hours and watch the sun shimmer on the waves.
The restaurant faces southwest, so there are incredible views of the sunset from the expansive windows, wherever you sit.
The food is a contemporary take on the classics and well executed. Pricing is very competitive too. I would say it's in line with Moxie's and Milestone's. As such, why would anyone want to eat a chain, when they can dine at Port?
My favourite is the Steak frites. The fries are so delicious, especially with the lemon aioli dip.
The only problem is sometimes the parking can be an issue, particularly on a nice summer day. As well, if you're not familiar with the area, it may be hard to find, as Wharf Street is more like a back alley.
However, if you take the time to come out to Port, you won't be disappointed!!
