I have been a local resident forever it seems and have always enjoyed the Purple Seahorse. This goes back to the day when they were in the "Shoppers Vilage Plaza"
Mike has always been a source of great practical knowledge and help. I continue to shop there to this day and really enjoy the looks of the new store.

Wow what a change. Love it : ) they even added salt water.

I would like to offer an update to the comments I have read regarding how the Purple Seahorse has the appearance of being run down, dirty, and a noticable odor. I was just there this month May, 2010 and Mike has moved into the shop next door and has done a great job on his renovations and set up. The new store is spacious and clean. I have shopped there for years and always appreciated Mike's knowledge and help.
Great job, and will be in again soon to buy a new aquuarium stand.

Good store but yes it has deteriorated allot lately, Great healthy fish though and a good local trader, has allot of stuff you cant find elsewhere, so what can you do ?

Today I stopped in at the Purple Seahorse with some friends. What hit me when I first walked in the door was a very strong stench. I don't know if it was because the fish tanks are not cleaned regularly or what it was. There was one pug pup in an enclosure. She knawing on the wicker basket that served as her bed. I did mention this to the young girls (3 of them) at the counter on my out. I don't know how often the staff tend to the pups or kittens but I suspect it's not often enough. I had heard good things about the Purple Seahorse a couple of years ago but I wonder if the quality of care and upkeep has deteriorated. I don't think I would buy anything from this store. Just my 2 cents worth.
