We just had our wedding there on Saturday and let me tell you - we have not stopped talking about how amazing everything turned out. I have received many comments from our guests that this was one of the best, if not THE best wedding they have ever attended. All of my ideas and suggestions would not have been brought to life if it wasnt for the outstanding staff at Riviera Parque and their partners executing everything impeccably.

From the moment we met Danny, he was always so accomodating to everything we wanted. His response to everything was always "No Problem" without hesitation. I am a perfectionist so I am always concerned that despite my extremely specifc instructions, I will always end up with something sub par. I have to say I was proven wrong in this case. Everything was exactly the way I wanted, and exceeded my expectations. If there was something wrong, it was fixed right away.

I have to give a shout out to Tony. I love Tony. Everybody loved Tony. He was the best and I miss him. I couldnt have asked for a better captain.

I wish I could go back and relive that day all over again. I am so glad that we were able to offer our guests, with the help of everybody involved, a beautiful night to remember; a true reflection of the love we share together.

We Nada & Patrick held our wedding church and reception at Riviera Parque on July 21 2012 and we really don't have words to express how great and amazing riviera Parque service was. They really made our wedding day memorable. This place is the best ever!!! The management and the staff were unbelievable!!! Special thanks to Tony for the service at the reception you are the best!!! And also special high5 to Danny from the management for everything you did. Special thanks to all the staffs!!! We are highly recommending and referring anyone who is interested to hold any event at riviera Parque to do so as based on our experience we can guarantee that you won't be dissapointed.
For the price we paid the service surpassed our expectations and not sure if anyone else in the business can match them. Really and truly thank you riviera you will always be in our memory. Encore une fois merci !!!!!

AMAZING WEDDING! October 5, 2011

Nothing is ever 100% as you expect it, but the staff and management at Riviera Parque go above and beyond to accommodate any hiccup you may have. We had our our wedding there recently and it was amazing. The planning went smoothly, always a genuine smile and a warm welcome. The food was beyond imagination, the service delivery was professional, overall fantastic. Every person we have spoken to since the wedding, including some outside vendors, have said it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended and we attribute a huge chunk of that to the services provided by Riviera Parque. It is a beautiful, elegant venue, we highly recommend it for any occasion that you may have. Thank you Riviera Parque for helping us make our wedding day such a special day for everyone!!

Great job Riviera! I've been to 2 functions at the Riviera Banquet Hall this year so far - one being a fundraiser "Life For Luke", and one was a fantastic wedding two weeks ago on the upper level. The food at both events was delicious. The service at both events were exceptional. I didn't see a few of my favourite condiments on the table (like hot pepper oil), and the staff quickly brought it over - very impressed.

The bar service was professional and quick. I'm happy to see that some company staff still wear uniforms too (unlike some other banquet halls in Woodbridge).

Someone posted a comment here indicating they were rushed at the end of their south asian event by staff - but I'm pretty sure south asian outside caterers serve and close up the show.

I recommend this venue and rate it 4.5 out of 5 - For south asian events I would recommend a better and less inexpensive outside catering staff.

I had my engagement done there but I don't think they no how to deal with big cultured weddings such as south asian ones. They try to do things the way they want it done, but it doesn't work that way...especially when we are paying so much money. There number one priority should have been to make their client happy but instead they were more concerned about timing because they wanted to rush home. when there is a wedding, the staff needs to take into consideration that they are going to run late at times and "south asians/east indians" rarely follow a schedule. I don't like being told how to do things on my own occasion, so for that reason I choose not to do my wedding there.

My wife and I had our wedding at the Riviera Parque in June of 2010, and it was the most memorable night of my life thanks in part to the staff at the Riviera. The food was exceptional, it honestly exceeded my expectations; and the price was reasonable (compared to all the other facilities we visited). I had various stations set up for guests as they arrived, and then we had a full sit down dinner. My friends still tell me how great the food was at my wedding. I would like to thank Danny (who seriously helped my wife with everything)and the rest of the staff at Riviera, including the chef (great job) and our head table waitress (Marta) who made everything magical and were always there throughout the night to make things easier for us.

I had my wedding reception at Riviera Parque in 2008 and was very impressed by the quality of food, service and atmosphere at the hall. I was, in fact, so impressed with Riviera Parque that I booked 2 tables for the New Year's Eve dinner/dance for my family and friends. I then took my mom to Riviera Parque for the Mother's Day Brunch.

Since my wedding reception, I have not missed a New Year's Eve dinner, Easter brunch or Mother's Day brunch at Riviera Parque!

Staff remembered me and greeted me warmly each visit. Improvements to the decor have been non-stop. The food has been absolutely fresh and delicious.

Keep it up Riviera! We'll see you for Easter Brunch!

After thoroughly reviewing your comments, I would like to inform you of the following:

To BEGIN…
If you are going to comment or criticize about any organization, do your homework, thoroughly review and try to get the facts straight before posting your opinion.

The FACTS….
**Riviera Parque is a Dining, Banquet and Convention centre that serves over 160,000 people per year.
**Portabella Catering is our catering department.
**Ristorante Portabella is a room in our venue that has been closed since November 2009.
**Portabella was a high end elite customer restaurant open for lunch only Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 3 pm. (Lunch only)
**Average bill was 150.00 + (FOR A LUNCH)
**Pizza and foccacia pieces were given to all customers with our bread basket for free.
**food served at Riviera is preselected by the Convenor of the event
**No A La Carte menu is served.
**The restaurant is no longer open because it could no longer be available to our customers on weekdays due to too many corporate private parties during the week and customer demand.
**The room is currently available for private functions during the week and on the weekend for our customers.

Additional COMMENTS….

-With respect to your comment of Riviera management. This is the first we are hearing about this complaint. A NON CONCERNED new customer that recently booked their Wedding with us made us aware of this posting. Not one of us in Management has received a complaint or concern regarding this matter. We don't know who you are...

-Your comment about the quality of service. We specialize in French Service where the staff serves from a service tray asking the customer what they would like. They know exactly what they are serving. If you are comparing Riviera to other venues that offer Plated service, where the staff serves you a pre-plated dish prepared in the kitchen, service is quite different. Preference and Opinions varies

-With respect to your comment of “frugal” or about pricing…OFF SEASON Pricing is different and less expensive then peak season pricing. Do you homework; call other venues and see that we are not the cheapest we are quite competitive. Also you should compare apples to apples and see what you’re getting. If you educate yourself in the field of food and beverage or this industry, you will comprehend the incentive and difference in pricing and customer demand between seasons. Food costs changes (see it yourself next to you visit any grocery store)

WE ARE VERY APPALLED ABOUT THE STATEMENTS MADE ABOUT OR TEAM AND VENUE.

DISGUSTING!!!! December 21, 2010

Porta Bella Restaurant (Riviera Park’s private restaurant for small functions): The food is so gross and so overpriced. Their $15 pizza was nothing but crust and sauce literally, their $24 black cod had exactly 2 side vegetables (1 piece of pepper and 1 tiny baby bok choy) that were more oil than actual vegetable and their salad for $8 was nothing but spring mix lettuce; there wasn’t a single tomatoes, cucumber, shred of carrot, nothing! Same thing with the Caesar, just 20 cents worth of romaine and 30 cents worth of croutons for $9.

In addition, management was rude and I kept getting the run around while trying to place an order.

Riviera Banquet Hall: I’ve been to 2 parties here out of obligation and have yet to see any sort of improvement year after year, no sign of kind or even human behavior from the staff.

The wait staff had no idea what they are serving. When asked ‘what kind of soup is this? She said point blank, “don’t know”. She didn’t even bother to ask the chef/kitchen staff. The hors d'oeuvres serving staff looked so angry it was best to avoid them altogether since they didn’t have the patience to let you get a napkin with your greasy grocery-store quality spring roll. Lastly, the food is thrown down in front of you ala Medieval Times trough-style eating rather than a nice plated meal.

Seriously, people get married here? Sure if you are looking for a $50 plate discount budget wedding go for it, you'll get what you pay for but the cheapest I’ve seen online (yea I trolled out of curiosity) is $75 in the winter and $75 pp to ruin your day still isn't worth if if you are being frugel. You’d have a better time and get better service if you have your wedding at McDonalds.

    You closed that restaurant November 2009? Then why on earth did you sell me gift certificates March 2010? LAME!!

    I did not call you to tell you your management was offencive and rude b/c it was one set of gift certificates, they were used and I never want to associate myself with your facility again if needed.

    As to the rest of your junk you just spewed out, you think I was making up what the waitress sait to me? She served soup, someone asked what kind of soup she said "dunn-o" no time to pronounce the t as she scurried away.

    Your 2009 winter prices were on your website thats why I know them. Your food was gross, both in you banquet hall (been there 2x) and your shut down restaurant.

    I don't plan on educating myself further

    Love the place!

    I recently booked a hall at the riviera parque for my June wedding and I couldnt be more excited.
    After a lot of shopping around and price and service comparison, I decided this was the perfect place for our wedding. I was saving posting a review for after my wedding but I had an urge to check this website again and and now I just had to respond to this review.
    Here is the story:
    I went to The Royalton with a friend as part of my shopping around and met with a seemingly nice fella who gave us a tour of the facility and showed us the price list and so on. As we sat in the office he insisted that we visit this website to view reviews of his venue and others. I had mentioned to him that I plan on visiting the Riviera after and will be getting back to him. A few hours later, I see this horrendous review!! suspicious? I think so!
    The review is not by a couple but an anonomous guest who was so outraged by the Riviera that he created this account and had to post this very specific, long and detailed review. No guest would do that. Sounds more like a vindictive competitor resorting to unethical means to lure customers. He even checks for reviewes and responded yet again.
    All I have to say is Thank you for making our decision easier. Stay tuned for our post wedding review!

    Interesting suspicion but WRONG

    I like how my identify has become this fun little mystery. Firstly I was shocked at how accusatory the lame public relations staff member from Riviera was at my identity. You should be apologizing you idiots about your poor service and NASTY FOOD not wondering who the heck I am. Yes I am an individual b/c luckily my spouse and I have smart friends who don’t get married in Woodbridge, the cheesy and cheap Las Vegas strip of the north if you will. I'm an individual who bought gift certificates to the Portabella and it was DISGUSTING and I have attended 2 Christmas events there and had to suffer through poor service.

    I personally was shocked at how poor the food and service was b/c yes, I thought this was a popular place for weddings so If I can save just one person from the atrocity that is the Riviera, then my work here is done.

    Hope your wedding sucks less than the food here. Good luck with that, lol ;)
