Bought a Deering Deluxe banjo at Rufus'. Bigger music shops in town have little to no selection for banjos and mandolin but Rufus always keeps good inventory on hand.

Guitar selection is nice as well.

I brought my guitar in to get the action lowered, fret level and setup. My guitar came back with the action 1/64" lower and buzzing more than when I brought it in. When I complained, guitar tech "re-adjusted" it. When I noted that it buzzed everywhere on the fretboard, their comment was" Don't worry, all electric guitar buzz!"
I got a $150 buzzing job!
2 thumbs down!

I have been going there for that past 3 years (the whole time I've been attending UBC) and last year I finally decided to upgrade my guitar. I came in and said what kind of music I wanted to play (mostly folk and some classical) and they asked exactly what kind of sound I was looking for (sharp, earthy, etc.) and in no time they set me up with a great guitar (a seagull folk). I highly recommend going there to buy or for lessons. They also have a great repair service (my uncle had the neck on his guitar twist and they fixed it in no time at all).
