Scam scam scam I got a gift certificate there as a bday present it got stolen and I called them to see what they could do for me and was told nothing although it was paid for on cc and they knew the date it was purchased they told me the theife could come in and use it and they wouldn't help me can I say money grab thanks for nothing

I WAS PICKED AS A MODEL FOR A FREE BOB HAIRCUT. I HAD THE PERFECT LENGTH. JUST BELOW MY EARS. FIVE OTHER WOMAN WERE GETTING THE SAME CUT, TO SAY THE LEAST I WAS TRAUMATIZED BY THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!!.....THE STYLIST CUT MY HAIR WAY , WAT UP TO THE TOP A LITTLE BIT LEFT THEN PROCEEDED TO CUT THE REAT OF MY HAIR ABOVE MY EARS,I HAD NO HAIRLEFT IN SECONDS, THE MANAGER JUST SAID OH IT WILL GROW BACK, THE HAIRSTYLIST LEFT ME JUST SITTING THERE IN TEARS, THE MANAGER HAD TO FINISH THE CUT.....I WAS RUNNING OUT OF THE SALON AND CRYING, THIS WILL TAKE MONTHS TO GROW,,,,THEN THE MANAGER JUST WALKED ME TO THE DOOR.....WHAT A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE,,,

I would not visit this salon again. First they had to cancel my appointment and reschedule for a different time, which wouldn't be outrageous in and of itself but the appointment didn't end up being worth the hassle. It was a Friday evening and I got the distinct impression the stylist just wanted to get out of there. It was the quickest haircut I have ever had; walking in, getting the consultation, getting a head massage, changing into the smock, getting my hair washed and mini-facial done, getting the haircut, her styling the hair, changing back into street clothes, and paying for the service took 35 minutes. This stylist was cutting and styling the hair so quickly that the experience was quite unpleasant as she continually burned the top of my head with the blow dryer, seemingly oblivious to the fact she was working on a person and not a beauty school dummy. (I tried protesting but it did no good). And it's not like this was just a trim, either. I had very long hair that I had been growing out for a long time and got about 8 inches cut off, even more in some places, plus she added layers, so it really should have taken longer than the fifteen or twenty minutes she put into it. I was hoping for something new and fresh and made specific requests, but unfortunately my stylist seemed only competent in giving variations of the 90's style Rachel cut. She didn't take any time at all with the layers so they're really old-school chunky. I usually put my hair in rollers and style it so I've been able to make it work, but for the kind of money they charge I expected a cut I could be really thrilled with and better customer service. And yes, they do hawk their products quite crassly. I went here because I naively believed they would be superior because magazines like Fast Forward consistently rank them among the best in Calgary, but after speaking with others I haven't met a single person who was highly impressed with their salon or spa services. I would recommend against visiting Swizzlesticks unless you know for certain there is a particular stylist worth seeing.

wow im surprised that so many of y'all havent been pleased by the services offered at swizzlelsticks...i first went there during a promo offer and got my haircut for $40 (everything included) and have been going there since. i absolutely love my hairstylist and the techniques she taught me for my curly hair i've been using for years and have been getting several compliiments. I agree that sometimes they push their products but lets face it ladies which salon doesn't?

I use to go to this salon several years ago. The most annoying part of my experience was that the stylists always push products.

What customer service??????? I was very unhappy with my hair, and called to have it corrected. The receptionist was understanding. The stylist, ( or make-up artist )had no desire; or the knowledge how to correct what she did. I was told she did what I asked, yes, but she could have told me that it would look bad, (I'm not a hairdresser) and made a few suggestions. I asked for refund, 1/2 refund, products?? " No, we don't do that, I could have her TRY and fix it. NO THANKS!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I was told, " It's a matter of opinion of how much grey I had, since I haven't seen it in a while. It's my head!!!

I received a hair cut last night that was very poorly done. When I complained I was told that I still had to pay for the time... because I was not paying for the Service I was paying for the girls time. Were they willing to fix it... NO not last night... so now I have to walk around with a crappy cut for 3 days before they will rectify the very very very terrible cut.

AVOID Swizzle sticks,.... all they want is your money and don't care one way or the other if you are happy.

I asked for my cut to be fixed and was told that it would not be fair for the manager to cut my hair cause his price point was above the stylists who messed my hair up.
