Welcome to The Fifth Social Club, Toronto's most popular nightclub now in its tenth successful year. Located in the heart of the entertainment district , the club has played host to many celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Robert De Niro, Matt Damon, Vince Vaughn, Kate Hudson and Pierce Brosnan. Renovated in 2005, the new look maintains the ambience of the warm post and beam room, adding stainless steel bars, and a series of stylish VIP sections designed to make clients feel as if they were partying in an intimate Manhattan loft.

DISGUSTING SERVICE September 10, 2011
review from category: Clubs

Never in my entire life have i experienced such an atrocious display of service at a venue. I would rather go to the dirtiest, stinkiest club in Toronto then go back to The Fifth. Firstly, the bouncer wouldnt let my friend in because he was too "drunk." The truth was that my friend hadn't drank at all yet, and the bouncer said that we had to wait an hour outside the club to go back in. A bunch of people came in 10 minutes later and 2 of the girls stumbled right infront of him and the bouncer giggled and said "rough night ladies?" and let them in. Then once we finally got in, I ordered a Jagerbomb and the bartender proceeded to give me a shot and a can of rockstar. I reached to pour it, and then he grabbed my arm and the can from me and pointed his finger in my face and said THATS STEALING!!! I was astonished and told him that I had ordered it and he kept yelling in my face!! I will never be going back, and am writing a review in Elle magazine to inform the city to not go there unless you want to be harassed by the employees.

AMAZING CLUB! February 18, 2011
review from category: Clubs

My friends and I needed a place to celebrate my 28th birthday. This place was perfect. The music was top 40, the service was great, and we had an amazing time. It was easy to set up bottle service, and we only had to pay for the bottles rather than the actual booth itself. I would highly recommend this place. A lot of fun -- mature crowd, no young kids at all.

I've been going out to all the usual spots in downtown Toronto lately and I have to say that my girls and I always end up at The Fifth Social Club. Why? Beacause we have FUN. The staff is fun and friendly, we feel super safe and it's not full of posers. The place does not feel like most clubs do, it has a warm living room like feel and the music is a great mix of old and new.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!! January 17, 2011
review from category: Clubs

I had an amazing time this week. Unlike all the snobby upscale places in Toronto, the staff was super friendly at the Fifth. My friends and I did bottle service and we were given a free platter of finger snacks (which supposedly everyone gets), and service was impeccable. The music was a lot of fun too. A good mix of fun songs to dance to. I especially loved walking out of the club only to be greeted by the door staff handing out apple cider and ginger snap cookies. Really?? Amazing!

I normally don't waste time writing reviews, however my experience with the fifth social club has left a lasting impression...I planned to celebrate my birthday at the fifth social club this year...the experience turned me off from clubs/lounges...the idea of spending the majority of my birthday in a cold line up and having bouncers let particular individuals in based on their discretion is not my idea of a fun night out...We were on guestlist, however we were told that guestlist ends at 10:30 and we were there at 10:40...however, other individuals arriving at 11 seemed to get in by saying they were on guestlist...I would not recommend having any important celebrations at this place unless you are prepared to be seriously disappointed!

QUELLE SURPRISE! November 15, 2007

A self-proclaimed pub crawler, I am generally not a fan of hoity toity Toronto "lounges" (i.e. clubs with booths). I find them pretentious, expensive and time-consuming (you can't exactly go in yesterday's sweatpants, although I do encourage this at Terri O's on the Danforth).

However, The Fifth Social Club definetly shook up my previous notions, if only for a night. I tend to also hate the music they play at these things; "house techno", which makes me feel like I should be partaking in illegal activities at some underground rave. But The Fifth managed to mix it in well with other genres...lots of top 40, old school R&B (they played Bel Biv Devoe!) and even some good old fashioned rock hits (there's nothing like jumping up and down in high heels, screaming along with Bon Jovi and 150 other drunkards at 2 o clock in the morning).

What's more, the drinks were cheap, the cover was cheap, and the bouncers were (GASP!) friendly. The only thing I can really complain about are the godforesaken mile high metal stairs you need to climb up and down to get outside for a smoke; not exactly safe in high heels after a couple drinks. I, being extremely coordinated after a shot of tequila, managed to skid down these stairs, much to the delight of the 100 or so onlookers waiting to get in the club. I have the bruises to prove it.
