Rented a tux for a black tie event. Day of event discovered problem with the tux resulting in not being able to take the jacket off the entire night. When the problem was discussed with the store manager, the store refused to give a partial refund, was rude on the phone and hung up mid conversation. The issue was resolved through corporate head office and a partial refund was given but it took a long process and utlimately the evening of the event was stressful. Very pleased with the results from Head Office but based on this experience will go elsewhere in future. It costs a lot of money to rent a tux and the result should be quality clothing you can wear to an event stress free.
First I send out the groomsmen to have their measurements done at the location closest to them, but some groomsmen complained that the service they got from Scarborough Town was poor. I then called up Richmond Hill store to have all tuxedos pickup at one location, hoping to avoid any unpleasantness. But when I go pick them up they claimed no one has informed them and I had to send groomsmen out again to pick up theirs. Next day got a call from the Richmond Hill store, stated one of the groomsman took the tux without paying for the rental. After converse with the groomsman it turned out to be untrue, when I talk to the store and they sounded that I was trying to cheat them. Later they call the other store and found out it was their mistake, then I only get a falsehearted apology. Of course there were some other mistakes in the pattern and color for the accessories, and my sleeves has to be shorten by 2 inches. Also I never got my $30 deposit back, it wasn’t used toward the rentals, I tried calling them the manager on the phone first stated this is processing fee then said I can only use it for my rental because I got rent 5 get 1 free deal so I can’t use it. I can’t believe this company can still survive in today’s world where it thrives in customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone.
