Neither design, nor performance, as for service, nobody calling back when you need them.
I am a retired structural engineer with a degree in architecture as well. Many projects with a strict budget, I recommended to purchase IKEA products, which are nicely designed, not very expensive and produced at reasonable quality. In our first apartment in Canada we installed Ikea kitchen and after three years looked like new.
This time, since we built a bigger house, my wife insisted not having Ikea kitchens - being considered poorish.
Usually, women are always right. Besides, we live in a democracy where everybody can do what his wife orders him to do.
We ordered our kitchen cabinets at Aya. Well, Ikea is luxury compared to the cabinets we have got. Corner wall cabinet to narrow, the oven face cut to a much wider opening than the oven width .....The installer tried to correct, but.....
And if the client needs some service, he has to come down to Caterpillar st, make sure that the company didn't stop existing. Once there, one have to insist to see someone, because people you were in touch previously are not available and don't return your phone calls.

Our experience from using Aya Kitchens overall was a very good experience. Our designer Joanne Hamaway was exceptional from start to finish, the process at times felt very long however when your spending $$ we expected a lot and she delivered! We love our kitchen! Once the kitchen was installed the process of finishing the odds and ends took a very long time, but overall the experience was very good and Aya does exceptional work!

DO NOT PURCHASE A KITCHEN FROM AYA KITCHENS!!!

The Product: The quality of the kitchens are terrible. You would think that for the cost you would be getting a really nice kitchen not some big box store kitchen. As a matter of fact I’d rather have an Ikea kitchen. The cabinet doors are extremely poor quality. Every door is not properly manufactured. There are so many defects, from visible seams to dents and scratches. The doors are not even wide enough to fit the actual cabinets.

The Installers: The installers have no regard for the quality of their work or your home. Cabinet doors are installed uneven and do not line up with each other. Drawers rub against each other. Handles are not fully screwed in. But the worst part is that the installers dropped a cabinet door that hit my dishwasher resulting in a large dent and scratch. It has been over a year now and still Aya ignores my requests to have it repaired.

Customer Service: THE WORST. Aya will make an appointment and not show up. When they do show up there is always an excuse as to why the job can not be complete. The customer service rep lies just to get you off the phone, but that is if you catch her off-guard and she actually answers her phone. If you leave a message you will not receive a return call, or email for that matter.

On a few occasions I’ve even spoken with Hugh, the VP, and he has promised to have an answer for me regarding missing pieces and the damaged dishwasher. I have never received a call back.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND AVOID AYA. If you want a good kitchen go somewhere else. Like I mentioned earlier, I’d rather have an Ikea kitchen at this point.

Keep in mind I had to put at least 1 star in order to write this review. Otherwise I would have given a ZERO.

Joanne and her team were insteumental in giving us the kitchen and bathrooms of our dreams...she met with us several times both at home and at the shop to ensure that we were happy with the selection of materials. She guided us without trying to inflence us and then ensured that products were delivered on time and installed with great care. SHe helped us above and beyond the call of duty with regards to fawcets, fridges, stove etc... and always with very pleasant attitude. NO question was too much! We had two different installers, one for the kitchen and dining nook, and one for the bathrooms and the wall unit in the bedroom. Both gave superb service and noticed a couple of small things that we did not, and insisted on having them exchanged for a perfect replacement. All in all our experience was wonderful with Aya kitchens. THank you Joanne, Andy and the rest of the team!

Thanks to Christine, Myra and Dean for making my dream kitchen come true. The designers helped so much and Dean's crews were professional and timely even when we came to a couple unexpected problems.

A lot of my Aya kitchen cabinet doors came with flaws ... dust particles under the stain ... marks on them. The company I went through to buy them replaced a couple of doors, but the replacement doors kept coming back with marks again. Disappointed in the quality and the people I bought them from said they can keep sending them back, but the doors will always have flaws. Either he isn't respresenting the brand very well, or Aya cabinets are below par.

Aya Kitchens was the company that our builder partnered up with for our new home. During the walkthrough, the cabinet door in the kitchen was missing; therefore, it was promised to be fixed prior to our move in. This did not happen. Therefore, we scheduled it directly with Aya during the first week of move in. We waited on that day, taking time off work, and no one showed up. We called the Edmonton office and it was indicated that the contractors could not make it. We were surprised as no one had reached out to us. Had we not called, we would have been waiting there for the whole day.

Aya rescheduled for about 3 weeks afterwards. We again, took time off work to have them come in.They did not provide us a set time of their arrival so we had to wait at the house clueless. The contractors that approached our house were not considerate; they were forcefully trying to open our front door despite it was clearly locked. When they came in they noticed their parts were wrong as well as another door being incorrectly installed. As such, they un-installed that door and left without fixing the previously outstanding one. Again, this was very frustrating for us as we did not like having to wait for them the whole day.

We though third times the charm, but no, when they came back again they brought the wrong parts again. This time for two cabinet doors instead of one. As of now, this is still not resolved.

It is very frustrating working with this company. I do not understand how a company can operate being so unorganized. The office does not communicate to the contractors as they always seem to be very clueless when they arrive. They have been wasting our time and their own time.

Our decision to renovate our 27yr old kitchen was a daunting task, to say the least. First of all we needed to find a company we would feel confident in to help us design our kitchen, then expertly install it.

AyA met up to our expectations, Jag provided professional installers, who worked through the weekend to make sure our kitchen was completed. Lina helped us design an efficient, practical, aesthetically pleasing kitchen. The quality and craftsmanship of the cabinets is excellent and reasonably priced. The workmanship of the installers, Remy & Josef was exceptional. We are highly satisfied with our new kitchen and we would definitely recommend Aya Kitchens of Oakville.

Like this place a lot. Reasonable prices, good service, nice workers.

Here at true value hardware you can still get everything you need for that project for your home or school or office at very reasonable prices. They are still the best hardware store in my neighborhood.

Hi Marino,

I am a little embarrassed this email took so long to get to you. Both Sue and I wanted to say thank you for all you have done in making our home/kitchen buying experience such a pleasant one.

Thanks for ensuring all the repairs got done. We love our kitchen and am so glad for your help in making our selections. Scott had told me a lot of good things about you and he was right on. It was a real pleasure meeting you and dealing with you.

Thanks again!

"We would like to express our appreciation for your company's work in remodeling our kitchen. We wanted to update and redesign the kitchen to make working in it easier. Despite our limited budget, Mr. Alan Fernandez designed an excellent and very functional kitchen. His suggestions and follow-up were very valuable throughout the design process. When it came time to do the installation, Ms. Lynda Bruce in Customer Service did a thorough job of scheduling the work. The installation was done by Andy. His
workmanship was outstanding and the field inspector, Mr. Doug Walker, addressed all our concerns and had the minor corrections done in a very timely fashion. Your sub-contractor, Uniform Custom Countertops Inc., was equally professional and efficient.
Our whole experience has been very favourable and we would not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone planning a kitchen remodeling."

Sincerely,

"My husband and I just wanted to let you know, how satisfied we are with our new kitchen. It's amazing how much difference a well designed kitchen makes. We went from a kitchen with extremely little storage and counter space, to actually having extra cabinetry to store things... Your designers also managed to incorporate an entire wall of cabinets around a new built-in kitchen table, that simply accentuates the contemporary flow of the room. AyA Kitchens and Baths was a pleasure to work with...and we would definitely recommend this company to our family and friends!"

"We had met with several other kitchen companies and none of them had an actual designer to assist us with all of those fine details that could normally stress me out. Andrea was our designer ... The price was very competitive and with Aya we would be getting solid cherry doors and not veneers. Thanks to Andrea's design we would also be able to install more cabinets than those quoted to us from other companies and also obtain more counter space. Our dream of owning a gourmet style of kitchen was now going to be a reality ... We would highly recommend this company to any of our friends and family!"
