I had a trial for my wedding done by Jackie Johnson, the sole proprietor of Makeup by Jackie. I e-mailed her constantly for months to book a trial with her, as she came highly recommended for her make-up skills. She seemed pleasant enough at first, even though she was 20 min late for our appointment. she proceeded to do my hair and when I looked at it, I thought we could try it a little differently as it looked nice, but just not quite right for my wedding. She suddenly began packing up and told me I needed to find another stylist. When I asked if she was serious, she said yes, and that she'd already spent too much time on me (almost an hour) and that if I didn't like "her style" she wasn't going to waste anymore time trying to make me happy. I am not a rude or confrontational person and had no idea what had just transpired or why. As I sat there mouth-gaping and wide-eyed trying to understand what had just happened, my mother and fiance came back into the room and asked why the make-up wasn't done (they had no idea what was going on at this point) to which she replied "I'm not even going there." They were shocked and kind of stared at her until she finished packing her things. I think she might have briefly muttered a forced apology before she said she didn't want the business, had wasted her time, and ran out the door. She acted very unprofessionally, and vain in my opinion. This was a trial-- a chance to figure out what I wanted for the wedding day, a chance for her to earn my business (and she would have had 6 other clients as well), and she thinks she can treat my family and I like that and still run around like she's the best in the biz? I don't think so. She's not a professional make-up artist, has no certifications in hairdressing or otherwise (I did ask), only her "experience". that would have been enough if she was acted professionally, but clearly there's a reason "professionals" go to school.
I've used Jackie for a few events and she is so sweet and a miricle worker. My hairdresser refered me to her and also told me that they went to beauty school together so ha. Lady, you do sound confronational and judgemental. I've used Jackie's services and I know she just doesn't walk out for no good reason. You must have said something degrading or something happened that maybe you don't even realise was harsh. Personal resposibility is key. Did you understand you were hiring an artist? And a good one at that. Did you respect the talent or treat her like your personal servant? You hired a make-up artist then call her vain...like it's bad to have a vain make-up artist. *giggle* You sound like a bridezilla! Yikes!
Woah now, attacking me personally based on a review I wrote on a Business? At first I was very confused as to why someone would do that, but after seeing your profile I realize that you yourself are extremely high maintenance and thus can justify treating clients like crap just because you feel like it. You need to calm down, go find another review to whine about. This was my experience with her, and it won't change. I have seen alot of great reviews as well, but this is a free country and I will make sure people know she's not perfect.
