I have three little boys and made arrangements to drop off my car early one morning, then we were going to walk to "Lets play" for the couple hours "Russ" said it was going to take to fix it. I get a call an hour later they had diagnosed the problem but could not fix it that day as "Russ had to go out of town. I wish he would have called me that morning to let me know, or even told me when i showed up to drop pf my vehicle, before I packed up my little ones on a cold morning and walked and paid to go to "Lets Play" and I would have rescheduled all together, as he did tell me on the phone he knew the night before he would be leaving that day at noon. It took them an hour to daignose the issue, I was told that the shop rate was $105 per hour, but for some reason my bill was $157, but he couldnt give me a breakdown of the charges because apparently the mechanic that worked on my car had went home (this was at 11:50) and all the computers were shut off, so he also couldnt give me a receipt. he was suppose to call me first thing monday morning with the reason for the extra charges, no phone call, i called him tuesday morning, he claims the extra charges were what the "Labour book" recommends. and apparently all shops go by this book. So it is nice to know that we no longer pay for the hours and work done..but we pay for what a book recommends.
How many transmissions and engines can you change in 20 years? Really...
Transmission Specialist has been in business since 2002 only. The review is focused on Russ rather than his shop, and does not mention anything about where Russ fixed cars in the past.
This must be a self gratification of Russ himself.
Stay away from this shop and you will be glad you did.
