I've been going to Donato's for seven years now and all I can say is that I've been for the most part very satisfied with my haircuts in terms of style and the service I receive. There's probably one occasion where I wasn't satisfied with my haircut because it was too bland (because I was scheduled with someone other than my regular hair stylist)and I was rescheduled with my regular stylist who fixed my haircut free of charge. I think its important to remember that you get what you pay for (it might be pricey but the cut is great and your hair grows out so well afterward) but also always make sure to address what you want exactly out of your haircut. If you're not certain that person is getting it, let them know...they've always listened to what I want for the most part and I think in that previous case, I should have addressed that concern. All in all I love, love, love Loucas! And would suggest him :) I've tried other salons but kept coming back to this one!

I went to Donato for the first time yesterday. I was shopping at Square One and decided on a whim to get my hair cut -- I tend to be implusive and just needed a change. I went somewhere else about 6 months ago and had to wait to do my hair again because the place I went to did a horrible job. I asked for blonde and they gave me green and the haircut was crooked and my bangs were way too short. Anyway, I didn't think Donato would be able to do much because I came in such a mess but the colourist managed to fix my colour, she recommended I tone down the highlights and darken my base colour to match my skin tone. I have never really been to a salon that actually CARED. WOW what a difference. My colourist, NICOLA (who I absolute love + thank you) pulled off a beautiful new look even though I was a disaster walking in. I had my haircut by Tracey who was also wonderful. She transformed my hidious hair, evened me out and listened when I said I didn't want to lose anymore length. She told me when to come back and how to treat my damaged hair. I would recommend both of these people if you are looking for someone that truly cares. That sealed the deal for me. I am writing this to let everyone know how happy i am with my new look, but also to thank Nicola and Tracey for being so thoughtful and caring. This means a lot given my horrible experience at the other salon. Some advice ladies -- when it comes to hair I have learned that you get what you pay for. I may have paid a little more than I normally do, but it was so well worth every penny!

A friend of mine recommended that I go to Donato salon for my haircut. I am a self-proclaimed beauty dive and generally I have high expectations of the salons I go to. I went into Donato not knowing what to expect and I should say I was highly satisfied with the service there. From the moment I arrived there I felt pampered all around. The customer care rep was very helpful at all times. Not to mention, I was super happy with my haircut. Being my first time I was at this salon I was recommended to see Mayela, a senior hair stylist for my cut. All I can say is she rocked it! This is the first time in a long time my hair looks and feels this great! Mayela was very nice and professional at all times and most importantly, she understood what I was looking for. She even recommended a style I had not thought of and was actually better than I had in mind. In short, I will go back to Donato salon. Great place with great people and awesome service!

LOUSE-Y experience! Spent big bucks for a cut with the 'artistic' stylist. I had high expectations especially since I paid $90+ for this last-minute 'design' cut (unfortunately, had to resched my regular stylist out and was crazy desperate). Not only did I receive a mediocre 'Top-Cuts-like' cut, I'm 99.9% certain she gave me HEAD LICE. I should have known better since she didn't pull a comb out of a barbicide cylinder to detangle/comb my hair...instead she used her 1990's brown brush to detangle and blow dry/'style' which she got from her nasty drawer. (Who does that?). I feel partially responsible for not mitigating the situation and saying STOP lucy, you arrogant SOB, wash your utensils, and practice some common sense hygiene, especially in an over crowded salon.....

DONATO, you've gone too far. No hair-cutting place should be considered a spa/salon if health and safety standards are blatantly questionable! And don't even get me started with their massage spa. Out of the 3 experiences I've had there, 2 were good and my third and last experience involved me waiting 25-minutes for the masseuse. No respectable spa makes the next client suffer from the previous client's tardiness. Yes, their excuse was that the client prior was late! Too bad, so sad for them. Again, no common sense here...

I went in for a haircut and blowdry, and lets just say they did not live up to the donato name. my bangs looked horrible and uneven, my layers were all over the place. I literally went to another hairdresser two days later to get my hair fixed! This salon is all show and no talent.

I went to the salon in Mississauga. It was really a bad experience. I thought that they are professional designers who will design the hari style for you. As a result, I only have my hair cut short, curl like having an explosion and no style at all. I wrote e-mail to them to complain. No reply. No one even bother to give you a call to find out what's happening. All that the stylist explain to you about the curl is loose last for 2 months and curl lasts for 3 months. I did not know what does loose mean!! No one gave you tissue paper to wipe out the water and perm chemical. Even worse that the normal hair salaon in the city.

I've been going here for years and have always been satisfied with their service. Their prices are reasonable but you get so much more. I've tried the new talents and even though they are a fraction of the price, they are very well trained and professional. Unlike other salons where they separate the cost of wash, cut & style...all of that is included with your hair cut....you can even get a make up touch up after (basics - foundation and gloss). I've also been in their salon to get a massage and it was great. I always recommend this place and often buy gift certificates for friends and family. They always treat customers very well and you come out looking like a million dollars.
