Could not believe how rude this woman was on the phone.... didn't have time to answer any questions, all she did was insist I come in with my prescription and tell me how great her store was.
NOT A CHANCE LADY!!!!!

I was thinking of treking downtown to take a look at the inventory at this shop. My eye doctor recommended it as a place with cool and funky frames. However after reading all of the reviews I will pass.I like to make my own decisions and take my time when making an investment like this. Since frames are something you will be wearing for at least a year, you need to shop around and take your time without pressure. Thanks.

The poor old guy working there seemed scared stiff of her. From what I have read here, no wonder.

This place is not inexpensive, but you are getting somewhat exclusive frame. Excellent fittings for bifocals as well

As I understand this shop has exclusive eyewear. A friend recommended them to me and My first trip in just to see what they had and if I could afford glasses from them. I don't think they like folks coming in to browse. But I have to say when I returned to buy the glasses I had seen in my first trip I have been treated very well with great respect and customer care.

I think that they need customer care improvement in dealing with anyone who happens to walk in to the store as it is in a shopping trendy area and does not have any signage that suggests an appointment. Perhaps another polite sign that asks for permission to take a photo or stating their policy is no photos. But despite my first visit being a little off putting I am happy with the service as a customer.

The owners are extremely rude, unprofessional, unhelpful and clearly not interested in providing a services to their clients. Join me in voting with my wallet and stay away from this retailer.

My wife & I had been in the store for about 20 minutes waiting to be served (not a problem) and the lady had been helping us for about 10 minutes when my wife found a pair of glasses that she rather liked.

I decided to snap a photo of them on her to help us remember how they looked as we continued to search for a suitable pair (we had only begun looking for glasses that same day -- and a $600+ purchase isn't something to enter into lightly).

I was immediately yelled at, chastised, belittled, told that "this isn't a showroom", "are you trying to steal my inventory", etc.. This came so out of left field that I just didn't know what was going on. I apologized but she continued to rant so I got up and left the store -- successfully keeping my own cool in the face of the most rude and abusive behavior I've been the recipient of since the junior kindergarten schoolyard.

How low of a rating can I give. Very interesting to read some very similar experiences to what I just had yesterday. I am shopping for frames for new presc glasses. Everything was going very normally, a lady was helping me to choose some options suitable for my face and prescription. I had tried about 10 on and came to a pair that I really liked the look of. When I turned from the mirror my husband was unknown to me readying to take a picture of me with the frames I liked with his phone, presumably so that we could remember what they looked like and compare to what we saw in other stores. This was nothing we had planned, he must have just decided it would help as I had seen some other frames at another store which I was also considering. It is a big expense, they are something you have to wear every day and you of course shop around to find something you will be happy with in the long term. It is very hard to make a comparison between frames at different stores.

The woman became suddenly enraged. She accused my husband of trying to take photos of her inventory, said he should have asked first but if he had she would have said no. She stood up agressively and was collecting up all the glasses I had tried. We were both flabbergasted and shocked. I was still trying to process what was going on. My husband managed to tell her she was being very rude and left very quickly so he wouldn't lose his cool. I was still trying to figure out what happened. She said she was not a showroom and that she would never even write down the brand and model for a customer. Having not even thought of anything other than trying on the options she was providing I have no idea what the brand of glasses I liked even was. It didn't occur to me we were going to be essentially thrownn out of the store.

We are still shocked and thoroughly puzzled by what happened and I am of course disappointed because I quite liked the frames I had come upon but I could never go back or purchase anything from that store. I have never experienced anything like that before. As my husband says, if she did not want us to take a picture she had about 100 different ways to politely deal with the situation and probably keep us as potential customers than the way she chose to.

I am not surprised about these reviews. What kind of business owner is that???? This was a very bad experience. Both the lady and the man were just impossibly rude. The woman has excessive, uncontrollable emotions. They were both screaming and not professional at all. I do not recommend this place at all. I wonder if the Better Business Bureau could enquire about this. I wish journalists could catch these situations on tape.

I have bought two pairs of amazing glasses from this store. They have a small but excellent and up-to-date selection. I can can understand some of the negative comments made about the owner and like any good consumer they have voted with their feet and wallets. But I still recommend eyez for anyone looking for cutting edge frames in Ottawa and good advice (but with a bit of attitude).

I am not one to write reviews, positive or negative, but feel compelled to after my experience at Eyez. I went in today, and in all my years of dealing with opticians, have NEVER encountered such rude unhelpful service. I was the only customer in the store, and made it clear I had no budget constraints as long as I got glasses I was happy with. I tried on several pairs, and narrowed my selection down to 3 options, all quite similar (all would be over $1000 with the lenses). When I left, I politely asked the woman to jot down the model numbers on a business card so when I came back with my (busy) husband for his opinion, we could quickly isolate the glasses I was interested in rather that redo the whole selection process...not an unreasonable request and certainly one that other opticians readily offer/suggest. Well, I got a terse "we're not a showroom (huh?) and we will not do that." I explained my reason for this and got the same head-scratchingly stupid response unless I was willing to put a frame on hold and commit to purchasing it.
The couple there are unpleasant and obnoxious and I even prior to the end (where I walked out with them having lost any business they might have had) the experience of being in there was unpleasant. What a contrast to Albert's on Sparks street where the sales staff are nice, helpful and have good advice/sense of style– and deliver excellent quality lenses to boot.
