I've been bringing my 09 Corolla to RH Toyota for an oil/filter change, as required by the warranty program, and for a tire change. They botched the tire change job, inflating the tires to the wrong pressure, failing to balance them and forgetting to replace the air valve covers.

But, they also billed me for "stewardship" of tires -- storing out-of-season tires -- a service I never received nor even asked for!

They also tried to shave off part of my gas pedals without explaining this to me -- until I forced the situation -- and they failed to apply a $15 credit that was the outcome of a previous complaint I had for a mistake done at a previous service visit -- until I forced that situation, too.

I still haven't been refunded for the 'tire stewardship' charges, and they won't return any of my calls.

---

When I bought my Corolla from RH Toyota, my salesman pleaded with me to give him top marks in the Customer Satisfaction Survey, telling me that if he doesn't get top marks from all his customers, his bonus is withheld -- a bonus he relies on to make ends meet.

---

I don't care about my warranty anymore -- there's only one year left. Going forward, I'm willing to pay my especially trustworthy mechanic Rudi Stoll (Thorn Green Automotive, Thornhill, ON) to do all work on my car. The money I save with him will more than offset the money I would supposedly not have to pay were I to ever exercise my warranty with Richmond Hill Toyota.

    Correction

I indicated I've been bringing in my car for some time, but the incident I describe happened only on my last visit. They've overcharged me on previous visits, however--always different issues--but the bottom line is they always look for ways to overcharge you.

About half a dozen women friends of mine have noted independently that, when women bring in cars with expired warranties for servicing, RH Toyota always seems to find $600 worth of work to do. Yes, always about $600.

One friend was once told a ball joint had "play" and needed replacement; I advised them to demand the old joint be given back to them. After the work was done and the joint was handed to them, we inspected the joint and found it to have no play, even after stomping on it with all our weight!

My salesperson, David Hindley, was exceptional. Never have I met a more professional sales consultant in my life! He listened to both me and my wife and presented a vehicle with financing and leasing options that suited our budget. Thanks to David, the Sales Manager, Jack and Julie (the lady that helped us with the paperwork), my wife and i are enjoying our new 2010 Venza.

I read the other reviews about the dealership[ but decided to go in anyway because it's so convenient to where we live. I was so glad that we did. Way to Go Richmond Hill Toyota!

I absolutely agree with RAV4ER's comment! The salesperson that I dealt with was also Clive. He was extremely rude and arrogant! How could such a big company employ such person? Other people there, including the sales manager, were not much better than him though....

Avoid this place at all cost! Go to other places if you want to have a comfortable car-buying experience. I dare to say that any other Toyota dealers are better than this place!

I totally regret to buy my Toyota there recently. Not to mention the salesperson (Clive) whom we dealt with sucks, they even forced us to pick up our car with just 1-day notice even when we said we weren't able to make it that day. He said that a few times over the phone that "you have to pick up the car tomorrow at 6pm, or before 5pm is even better..."

what kind of customer service was he giving me here? They should have done that on the customers' conveniences, not to push them to come pick the car up on the next day at a certain time.

I would definitely not to recommend them to family and friends should they wanted to buy a Toyota.

Indeed, this is the worst dealership with the worst attitudes and worst services in the Toronto area. I wish I could have checked the rating first before I go. Do NOT go there... you will regret.
