We have bought our living room furniture and dining set from Urban Brick at College Park. There was a sales going on and they were in good price. And we made the payment in July 2009 and were told that some pieces will be delivered in late August and and the rest will be delivered in the middle of September.
When the delivery dates came, there was nothing delivered without a notice. My fiance has gone to the store and found out that the goods will be delivered 2 weeks later than the expected time. SO byt he end of September we would have every thing delivered.
On the first days of October, again without a notice , goods were not delivered. As I was back in my country, my fiance got back to the store and asked where the goods are. And she was told, please read here carefully, IN 2 WEEKS WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THE GOODS WILL BE IN CANADA (CAUSE THEY WERE SHIPPED OVERSEAS) AND WILL ARRANGE A DELIVERY DATE WITH YOU LATER.......#$%#%@% They will let us know IN 2 WEEKS TIME when the delivery can be arranged. They still have not got the goods in stock yet!!!!!!! and they won't be having them in next 2 weeks.
My fiance called me and explained all these.... I was on my vacation and I looked for an international calling card which is rare to find in my country and called them saying that, if my goods are not delivered in a week; I am canceling my purchase and want my money back. I also send an email which I found on brick's webpage.
Anyways, I asked my money back if the goods are not delivered in a week. And imagine what happened!!! Next morning, yes NEXT MORNING goods were delivered; ALL OF THEM. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
NOT FINISHED YET!!! And then 8 months later we have invited friends for dinner. Dining table is a table which you extend to have more people. After dinner and friends are gone, we do not need the table extended so we took the extension and tried to set the table as it was before. But then we could not....And when we checked we saw there was a broken piece on the track system. Oh My Gosh!!!
Anyways, I called Brick and request someone to send and have the table exchanged. They said, they will send an inspector who will check out and see the problem either our mistake or factory mistake. Inspector came a week later and took some photos and told me that it is a factory mistake and parts will be exchanged and we are not going to pay for that. So the inspector would get in touch with the Store and then the Store will deal the rest.. After 2 weeks inspector left, I have called the Store (The store refers to Urban Brick at College Park) and wanted to know what's going on. They said they will look into this as they do not have a enough INFORMATION what's going on! I said okay, that might happen please check and let me know. One week later a lady called me from the Store and asked some questions and said she will give me a call on the same date and update me accordingly. Never heard from her again! And then one week later I called the Store and checked what's going on and they have arranged a delivery for me on Saturday the 3rd of July 2010.
And i felt happy that everything was settled and when I was watching Spain - Paraguay World Cup game the door bell rang and the delivery had arrived. The delivery guys told me that they had brought a new table! I said I was expecting just a piece for exchange never a table. They said this is what Store told them and what their system shows.
I said so what am I going to do with the old table, I do not want 2 tables in the middle of my living room. They said the Store will get in touch with me about that. I said okay and called the Store and explained the situation they told me because of the delays and things gone wrong for my orders they made a courtesy and send a brand new table. And told me to separate the old table in pieces and they will send someone to get the old table back. I thanked them and the delivery guys have left.
After an hour, I have received a phone call from the delivery guys that there was something happened and they are coming back to get the table because without picking up the old table they cannot deliver a brand new one!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! I got frustrated as you may imagine, and called the store. The lady I was talking an hour ago told me that she will get in touch with the delivery guys and will call me. She called me back and apologize that this was terrible mistake done and the guys have to have the new table back and there will be a delivery arranged not for a table just for the broken part. After that I am still expecting for the delivery of a small part and today is July 29th and between July 20 - 29, 3 other delivery appointments failed due to miscommunication . I will update my review and let you know when I receive the part???? Finally today I got it!!!
