After hurriedly choosing a colour that was too bright, I called to see if there was anything that could be done to darken and adjust the tone. Eglinton Paints invited me back after hours to select and mix a much, much more appropriate colour, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks so much!

After many years in the neighbourhood, I would not go anywhere else but to Eglinton Paints. Joel has incredible knowledge about paint and can do wonders to get the color you need. Once, when the colour I selected was too dark, I took it back to Joel and he was able to transform it into the perfect shade, not an easy task. The final formula was over a page long and the colour so amazing, I kept the formula to this day.

When they were closed on a Sunday, I went to one of the big stores, a serious mistake. At one store, the paint was not mixed properly and the rim of the can was smeared in dark pigment. At another store, they gave us the wrong information and then could not change the colour as they didn't know how. This would not happen if you go to Eglinton Paint. I hope Joel never retires. Be patient and expect to wait as Joel works by himself.

This comment is in response to the negative review made on this store. Eglinton Paints has had an excellent reputation for over 50 years! I have been there often and know for a fact that they are known for their friendly service and superb knowledge of all the products they carry. This is supported by the loyal customers who have been coming to store for years and years. The stores' main focus is on supplying paint and paint related products, however they do not offer colour consultations. Custom colour matching is their specialty, and they have a reputation for being the best at this in the city. This is also confirmed in the many newspaper and magazine articles published over the years. Eglinton Paints also offers a selection of hardware products and the owners offer recommendations for these. The store is family owned and operated. All customers are treated completely equal, but I have noticed that during very busy times you may be politely asked to wait your turn to be served as there is only one (or two the most) people working at a time. It must of been the pregnant hormones that affected the woman who came in as everyone at this store is always very welcoming!

This place was highly recommended by our realtor, but I don't know how long ago she had been there. My 8 month pregnant wife went by on June 5th, 2009, to ask for help in choosing paint colors. The man working there told her that he didn't have time to talk her, but in an extremely rude manner. My wife is extremely calm, but after coming out of the shop, she was so affected by this experience that she had to call me to get it off her chest. Disgraceful!
Too bad I'm unable to select zero stars.
