I'd been using a recent breakup as an excuse to temporarily give up time and money consuming indulgences such as waxing, but a too-good-to-be-true deal on Groupon convinced me that the time had come to pamper myself. Not that I was exactly looking forward to it, since, despite being covered in tattoos, every other bikini waxing experience of my life has left me dizzy, sweaty, and on the verge of fainting. Real attractive, I know.

But this time was different. . . Renata is seriously a magic magician of waxing! She explained that the wax she uses sticks only to the hair, not the skin, making the experience indescribably less painful. I kept laying there, waiting for the pain to kick in, but next thing I know, she's done!

A few more things:

*She's super quick, but never makes you feel like she's doing a rush job. From the time I walked in the door, to the moment I walked out (including a consultation and some chit chat), was under half an hour.

*She's SO friendly and easy to talk to. I didn't think it was possible to feel that relaxed while naked from the waist down, under a magnifying glass, with a stranger. Ha!

*She is highly educated about her products and line of work. Some of you may be thinking, "How much is there to know about waxing?", but trust me, taking the time to analyze the direction of the hair growth makes a BIG difference.

*Most importantly of all, she is clean!! Her sanitation area is right there for you to see, No double dipping (yuck) here.

I had my waxing done earlier this evening, and have experienced NONE of the telltale after-effects of waxing! Ladies, you know what I'm talking about. . .

Bottom line: This was the most comfortable, sanitary, friendly bikini wax of my life. I cannot believe I've been paying the same price for a much lower quality of work done in the backroom of some nail salon! I'm a fan of Aroma Spa for life.

Had an appointment with them. The had to cancel it due to power issues, whic was fine. They said they would call back to set up another date and never did. I guess I'll take my business else where!

i have gone to Rosa now for waxing and for a facial.

facial: got a glycolic peel and it was great. no scabbing, great results. and i love the products she used on me. she even gave me samples of stuff to try at home and they are all top notch.

waxing: not painful at all. a few little stings here and there but it was easy pea-sy. she made sure she knew what i wanted and it looks great.

there are a lot of crazy waxers out there who are into doing half a job.. so just go to Rosa and get your skin care needs met the first time around. she is really comfortable to be around, super nice and the whole spa is pretty welcoming.

The one bit of advise I have for first time clients going to Aroma make sure you have the address handy. For some reason the spa front seems to blend into the building and can be accidentally past by.

My skin was having a crazy freak-out and with my good friend's wedding on the horizon I needed to do something fast, but I wasn't sure I felt like shelling out $115 for a facial at my fav place. one of my friend tells me about the secret she's been hiding. For $65 you can have an amazing hour-long ORGANIC facial with high end products and great estheticians. No way.

I was able to score an appointment that same week after work (5:45) and while I ran a bit late they were more than accommodating. Kyoko was my esthetician and she was great! She talked through each step ahead of time so I could go ahead and relax while it was in progress. She was incredibly thorough.

My skin was left looking and feeling SO much cleaner and it wasn't even all red like it usually is!

I'll be back for sure!

So I went in for a brazilian after 2 years of shaving and VERY coarse hair, and I mean VERY. I was expecting pain and panicked that I forgot to take a tylenol, no worries. Mary (I think that was her), who I thought was the phone lady told me I still had time to make it before closing so I rushed. Okay now I've had brazilians done by 'the best' in Toronto, England, South Asia. Vancouver and I have to say I'm hooked to her. Basically I was used to the finger wax method which is slower but the only woman I ever trusted to do that adopted a baby and moved back to Vietnam- Other places that offer the '10 minute brazilian' or '5 minute brazilian' are fast, expensive and painful. Mary was not only fast but really really good at what she does. Supportive, and kept pacing me whenever I was losing hope. It wasnt that painful (considering the amount of hair I had) and I was done before I knew it. She is super super friendly I really recommend her and she has these breathing techniques ("kind of like the pregnant ladies", as she says) that help miraculously. No need for tylenol there. The spa was clean and comfortable- Service was incredible and prices were GREAT! Especially in comparison to other similar spas. Also they give you 15% off two days a week, one is Wednesday (today) so I saved a little too. I have a low pain tolerance and heavy roots and there is no way in hell Im shaving again, I'll be seeing her next week.

:D

It took me awhile to get an appointment here but it was worth the wait. My facial was one of the best I have had in years. Alaa was also great to talk to about skin care products and what kind of products I should/shouldn't be using. I had been noticing my skin was drier lately and it was probably because of the cleansers I was using. The atmosphere was very relaxing (cool French music) too - I would highly recommend Aroma!

I'm really glad I had the opportunity to see Mary. She is by far the most attentive and caring aesthetician I've had. She works with you to find a very personalized treatment for your skin during the appointment and after you leave her spa. You can tell she truly cares about her clients. How do I know this? She called me the day after my appointment to see how my skin was doing! Who does that nowadays?

After seeing Mary, those weird bumps on my face have noticeably subsided, and my skin looks fresher and smoother overall. She was so thorough in clearing those nasty blackheads and explained everything thoroughly. She also shaped and tinted my eyebrows which look GREAT! Ladies (and guys), Mary books up fast, so make your appointment soon!

Why I'm a fan:
-Mary, the bubbly owner, and her friendly staff
-Short wait times
-Cute, chic and very clean spa
-it is right next the Bathurst subway station.
-Probably the best prices for a REAL day spa!
-A less painful waxing experience! The first time I came here, Mary serviced me and I was mentally preparing myself to grip the sides of the waxing table and break out into a sweat. In a matter of moments I hardly felt the tug and pull of the strips and I was pleasantly surprised :) I'm not sure if its a special type of wax they use, magical strips, or just plain old skills cuz the usual routine at my prior waxing salon that should remain nameless... actually consisted of long waits even if you had an appointment and a rather rough waxing experience where I gripped the table and broke out in a sweat cuz my nether regions were being manhandled.

Try this place out and I promise you'll love it!
S.

I had quite a bit of work done today -- finishing off the painful stuff with an AMAZING facial with Alaa.
Alaa is very kind and makes you feel so comfortable.
The facial was delicious! It was relaxing -- even the extractions weren't so bad -- and I feel like I have a whole new face.

The online appointment request is so easy -- and everyone in the salon is so nice. It's definitely a great place -- for waxing and beyond.
